The study advances the debate on the co-creation of value in healthcare by treating the informal caregivers as a key organizational resource for the providers. Using the Dialogue, Access, Risk, and Transparency (DART) model developed by Prahalad and Ramaswamy as an interpretative key, this qualitative paper frames the role of the informal caregivers within the multiple experiences of value co-creation in which they are engaged. The central argument is that the informal caregiver performs three intersecting key roles: patient's advocate, system navigator and coordinator of care.

The paper raises the issues of Knowledge Workers job and the Knowledge Management information Systems (KMIS) that support it. The first objective of the paper is to define the notions Knowledge Worker and KMIS - in the form of concept maps. In the paper, the knowledge actions conducted by the Knowledge Workers are also analyzed and the most frequently performed actions are distinguished. The two actions - analysis and information organization, are used as the basis for examination of KMIS quality in terms of Knowledge Workers support. A case study of Moodle platform as a KMIS supporting actions of Knowledge Workers in higher education justifies the conclusions of the support quality of traditional KMIS. With the objective to suggest improvement of the KMIS the authors introduce a design approach for Knowledge-Graph-based information Systems (KGIS) and describe the general benefits of them, again referring to such knowledge actions as analysis and information organization. The paper also covers the limitations that might relate to a broad implementation of KGIS, connected with infrastructure, technology, organization, and media effects. At the end, the authors present another small case study dealing with the expected support quality of a semantic IT service catalog, prototypically implemented in a German higher education institution.

This short paper addresses the question of whether practitioners perceive requirements for the cognitive effectiveness of a visual notation to have different importance when that visual notation is used with modeling experts (i.e., developers, modelers) and novices (i.e., business stakeholders, end-users). Through analysis of data resulting from an ongoing empirical study we show that some requirements differ in how important they are perceived for modeling expert and novice use, but that these differences are difficult to meaningfully assess without further in-depth qualitative work.

Nowadays, internet has offer an overabundance of available information. In social networks, users confront gigantic number of items. To overcome this phenomenon, known as information overload, recommender systems are intended to filter information and help users to make their choice. Many models based collaborative filtering have been used in the literature to solve the problem of recommendation. Among these models, latent factor model has become the most popular due to his performed results of accuracy. This work is part of research into Recommender System domain and aims to present a detailed explication on works based latent factor model. We first describe a general view of this model. Its realization in field of recommendation is next presented. A detailed study on different steps is then exposed. The most important works that have been developed are then presented. To the author's knowledge, there has been no work that tries to explain in detail how latent factor model is applied to Recommender Systems.

Ambient Assisted Living are equipped with ubiquitous technologies, and use sensors as their main element for environmental data collection, providing systems with updated information. Currently, there is a convergence combining systems for smart environments and uncertainty reasoning. Considering that the world population is aging, health-support issues are in evidence, and many dangerous situations concerning users in their living environment may arise. However, reasoning to detect situations taking into account uncertainty presents a great challenge. This paper describes a contextual model based on semantic web technologies that deals with uncertainty. This model may be used to detect unwanted situations with a certain grade of contextual uncertainty. The model was evaluated in scenario exhibiting the reasoning over uncertain data to predict unwanted or perhaps dangerous situations.

Many companies use information systems to manage their business processes and thereby collect large amounts of transactional data. The analysis of this data offers the possibility of automated detection of anomalies, i.e. flaws and faults, in the execution of the process. The anomalies can be related not only to the sequence of executed activities but also to other dimensions like the organization or the person performing the respective activity. This paper discusses two approaches of detecting the different anomalies types using basic sequential analysis techniques. Besides the classical one-dimensional approach, a simple approach to use multiple dimensions of the process information in the sequential analysis is discussed and evaluated on a simulated artificial business process.

Our concept of business Domain-Specific e-Collaboration is an approach to integrate e-Collaboration into business domains to enable direct collaboration on business objects in enterprise systems. To validate its practicability and usefulness, we conducted a usability test for a particular use case in the business domain of product costing. In this paper, we present the results of the evaluation for the coordination of component calculations based on business Domain-Specific e-Collaboration. We reveal how our concept improves the product costing process through higher transparency, an increased speed in processing and improvements regarding consistency.

The widely use of advanced technologies in the sensor network and computing has facilitated the development of convenient pervasive applications in order to access information at anytime and anywhere. The traditional access control mechanisms cannot appropriately protect the access and usage of digital resources in the highly distributed and heterogeneous computing environment. In such an environment, enforcing continuously the access control policies during the access period is a challenge because traditional authorization decisions are generally made at the time of access requests but do not consider ongoing controls. Obligations are the vital part of many access control policies and they specify mandatory behavior that should be conducted by a user of the access control system in sensitive domains. Therefore, utilizing a mechanism to approve the fulfillment of the obligation is required for continuing or revoking the access decision. We leveraged the capability of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to manage the communication between entities in order to provide a mechanism to handle the continuous enforcement of the obligation. Meanwhile, we present several scenarios which indicate our proposed model can manage the obligatory behavior that affects the continuity of access to resources in pervasive computing environment.

The paper presents a conception of a doctoral dissertation, which concerns the problem of estimation of maritime risk and reliability of maritime transport services. In the dissertation a method for dynamic risk assessment based on the Bayesian Network approach is presented. The method concern the risk of an individual ship and its aim is to identify ships, which pose a potential threat due to their individual behaviour and characteristics. Within the article, the following aspects of the dissertation are presented: motivation standing behind the research, main assumptions for the proposed method, its novelty in comparison to existing solutions as well as preliminary results.

Organizations always need to continually improve and review their critical business processes (BP), especially in the healthcare field. This improvement requires an efficient mean to support the management and the analysis of healthcare processes, to collect all relevant indicators designed for both effective management and process improvement and to understand all interesting results based on data instance logs that reflect the performance of business processes. In order to meet these challenges, we propose a novel approach for managing business process performance enabling the evaluation and optimization of BPs. This approach is illustrated through a real case study in the emergency department of "Farhat Hached" hospital in Sousse (Tunisia).
