Currently, many financial organizations must undergo a digital transformation. In this study, we investigated a transformation in a Norwegian fintech company with the aim of understanding how the tasks performed by business development can be better aligned with the work of cross-functional development teams. Specifically, we examined the enablers and barriers to coordination between business development and software product development in large-scale agile software development. The organization under study had 25 software product development teams that followed an in-house agile model. We collected data by conducting 13 interviews and collecting various documents. Our findings suggest that having cross-functional fora, having a common understanding of what business development is, and coaching the whole organization to be more agile can improve coordination between business and software development.

The degree of individual manipulability of positional aggregation procedures is evaluated for the dynamic voting modelwithin the framework of the two-dimensional Downsian model. In the dynamic voting model, alternatives move in steps toward a central point while agents attempt to manipulate at each step. The share of manipulable profiles, i.e., the Nitzan-Kelly index, is calculated. The manipulability of Plurality, Approval, Inverse Plurality, Borda, Threshold, Nanson, Inverse Borda, Hare, and Coombs aggregation procedures is evaluated at each step of the movement. Computer simulation shows that the Hare, Coombs, and Threshold procedures are among the least manipulable ones.

The increasing frequency of cyberattacks by criminal and state-sponsored actors, has elevated the importance of cyber threat intelligence for organisations. We are interested to understand why practitioner share cyber threat intelligence and the impediments that prevent sharing. This paper addresses practitioners' perceptions of factors that influence cyber threat intelligence sharing. To find out the factors that influence why cyber security practitioners share or don't share. We conducted research interviews with nine cyber security practitioners using a semi-structured, open-ended interview guide which were recorded and transcribed. We also analysed the data using an approach informed by grounded theory. We coded the data, organised the data into themes, and used constant comparison to check our code's consistency and accuracy. Furthermore, we developed memos, from which our theory emerged. Ultimately, our analysis revealed a new phenomenon, which we call Circumstantial Sharing. In circumstantial sharing, practitioners may rigorously discover and mitigate cyber threats and inform top management. However, practitioners my experience pressure from management not to share cyber threat intelligence with external organisations. This is significant because cyber threat intelligence sharing is an important weapon to resist future malicious cyber-attacks. We observed three main impediments to cyber threat intelligence sharing: fear of potential penalties imposed by regulatory authorities, concerns about sharing cyber threat findings with competitors or adversaries and the financial cost of sharing cyber threat intelligence. It is our hypothesis that overcoming the impediments we have observed will facilitate increased cyber threat intelligence sharing and hence help resistance to future cyber-attack.

With the escalating influx of open data daily, the European Commission, as per the European's 2022 Strategic Foresight Report, prioritizes fostering equitable, greener and digital societies. The conversion of conventional services to digital platforms to support citizens in urban areas is now becoming the norm, posing challenges for accessible civic infrastructures. Open data-defined as data that can be freely used, re-used and redistributed by anyoneare expected to bring forth opportunities and societal adjustment challenges. Despite being under investigation for the past two decades, the intersection of Open Data and Smart Cities continues to be a dynamic and developing research area. The progressive implementation of Smart Cities demands the development of new skills and competences. Our systematic literature review uncovers these research gaps highlighting potential areas for development and further study. In addition, this study investigates the legal and policy frameworks regarding Open Data and Open Data for Smart Cities. It explores the impact of Open Data on Smart Cities, as well as the necessary competencies and skills required by data officers to support the implementation of Smart Cities. Furthermore, the research will examine the upskilling and reskilling strategies for data officers in Smart Cities concerning Open Data.

Nowadays, data analysis is widely used in numerous areas to identify new trends, opportunities, or risks and to improve decision-making. In many cases, however, data analysis is only possible by incorporating specific domain knowledge, which is why domain experts need to be involved. To this end, data mashups are a popular tool for modeling tailored analyses. Yet, with today's data volumes from heterogeneous source systems, it is very difficult to identify beneficial data sources, in particular for explorative data analysis. In this paper, we first define requirements aiming for user-centric analytics, followed by the introduction of SDRank, a deep-learning-based approach to identify beneficial data sources. In an extensive evaluation with three scenarios, we show that this approach offers high robustness concerning the training data used and can reliably identify beneficial data sources, even for previously unknown domains, i.e., transfer learning.

Social networks, as abstract representations of relationships between entities, play a pivotal role in connecting individuals in the digital age. This paper delves into the realm of social network analysis (SNA), a method rooted in graph theory that explores the dynamics of social relationships within communities. One of the key objectives of SNA is to identify the most influential actors within a social network, a task often achieved by calculating various centrality metrics. These metrics, such as degree centrality, allow to quantify the significance and impact of individual nodes within a social network. In the context of marketing and brand promotion, these metrics are particularly relevant and useful. Leveraging social networks for marketing endeavors can enhance brand recognition and foster customer loyalty. When promoting products within social networks, targeting the "most important" members (i.e., those with higher centrality metrics) can exponentially increase the reach and impact of the marketing campaign. In this paper, an approach is suggested for supporting social network marketing by employing binary logistic regression analysis. Logistic regression is a valuable tool in case of models where the dependent variable is dichotomous, and it can be an ideal method for predicting node behavior in the context of a product promotion campaign. By analyzing the actions of the "most important" nodes within social networks, we can predict which nodes are likely to purchase a marketed product based on their interactions and centrality.

The euphoria around microservices has decreased over the years, but the trend of modernizing legacy systems to this novel architectural style is unbroken to date. A variety of approaches have been proposed in academia and industry, aiming to structure and automate the often long-lasting and cost-intensive migration journey. However, our research shows that there is still a need for more systematic guidance. While grey literature is dominant for knowledge exchange among practitioners, academia has contributed a significant body of knowledge as well, catching up on its initial neglect. A vast number of studies on the topic yielded novel techniques, often backed by industry evaluations. However, practitioners hardly leverage these resources. In this paper, we report on our efforts to design an architecture-centric methodology for migrating to microservices. As its main contribution, a framework provides guidance for architects during the three phases of a migration. We refer to methods, techniques, and approaches based on a variety of scientific studies that have not been made available in a similarly comprehensible manner before. Through an accompanying tool to be developed, architects will be in a position to systematically plan their migration, make better informed decisions, and use the most appropriate techniques and tools to transition their systems to microservices.

Online health services provision is the future of heath sector globally. Hospitals that do not make the transition from paper-based systems to electronic may swiftly undermine their chances of sustaining competitiveness in the market and efficiency towards their patients. This paper applies Hospital Online Service Index (HOSPI) assessment methodology to analyse progress in Portuguese hospitals' migration to a digital state. It employs data from an assessment conducted in 2021 to examine online health services provision. The article compares the results of that assessment to a previous one in 2019 and finds that Portuguese hospitals' websites remain in a stable status with slight progress in administration procedures, navigability, usability and readability aspects. The paper also suggests possible steps that could be considered, by Portuguese hospitals, towards covering the existing gaps.

The arrival of ChatGPT has caused a lot of turbulence also in the field of software engineering in the past few months. Little is empirically known about the capabilities of ChatGPT to actually implement a complete system rather than a few code snippets. This paper reports the first-hand experiences from a graduate level student project where a real-life software platform for financial sector was implemented from the scratch by using ChatGPT for all possible software engineering tasks. The main conclusions drawn are as follows: 1) these findings demonstrate the potential for ChatGPT to be integrated into the software engineering workflow, 2) it can be used for creating a base for new components and for dividing coding tasks into smaller pieces, and 3) noticeable enhancements in ChatGPT-4, compared to ChatGPT-3.5, indicate superior working memory and the ability to continue incomplete responses, thereby leading to more coherent and less repetitive dialogues.

In past years, Everything- or X-as-a-Service applications have left their mark on the consumer market, changing the landscape of on-demand delivery of goods and services. In recent years, these applications have also gained traction in an industrial context. However, companies are often unable to provide such a service on their own because they lack the necessary data or capabilities. To address this, companies are coming together to be part of larger Data Ecosystems. Based on a case study in industrial laundry, this paper explores the first steps towards a Laundry-Finish-as-a-Service application, focusing on the information Requirement Concept. Based on Action Design Research as a guiding research process, three small to medium sized enterprises - a manufacturer of textile finishing-machines, a manufacturer of gas burners as well as an industrial laundry - were scientifically accompanied over the course of eight months, with two workshops and several bilateral in-depth sessions. First results are presented and discussed in order to derive design principles for the information Requirement Concept for a XaaS application in emerging data ecosystems.
