The Disciplined Agile 2.0 process decision framework [1] provides light-weight guidance to help organizations streamline their information technology (IT) processes in a context-sensitive manner. It does this by showing how various activities such as solution delivery, operations, enterprise architecture, portfolio management, and many others work together in a cohesive whole. The framework also describes what these activities should address, provides a range of options for doing so, and describes the tradeoffs associated with each option. Every person, every team, and every organization is unique, therefore process frameworks must provide choices, not prescribe answers.

Enterprise architecture-based approaches give an in-depth analytic potential for alignment and misalignment assessment. The ability to incorporate these analytic potentials is an ongoing concern in the state-of-the-art strategic alignment literature. This paper proposes a framework for EA artifact-based misalignment symptom detection. The framework aims to perform a systematic, EA-based analysis of mismatches between the business and IT dimensions of the traditional Strategic Alignment Model (SAM). By operating the framework, containing EA-artifacts and suitable EA analysis types are connected to typical misalignment symptoms along the traditional alignment perspectives. The operation of the framework is illustrated with a case study about a fleet management project at a road management authority.

Honeypots are unconventional tools to study methods, tools and goals of attackers. In addition to IP addresses, timestamps and count of attacks, these tools collect combinations of login and password. Therefore, analysis of data collected by honeypots can bring different view of logins and passwords. In paper, advanced statistical methods and correlations with spatial-oriented data were applied to find out more detailed information about the logins and passwords. Also we used the Chi-square test of independence to study difference between login and password. In addition, we study agreement of structure of password and login using kappa statistics.

Existing research provide frameworks for analysing the rationale behind engineering methods and how this rationale matches the rationale of individual project members. As methods are used in groups, this raises questions about how to study method rationale on an aggregated project level. We propose an elaboration of method rationale theory to enable this type of analysis. We introduce the concept of collective method rationale together with metrics to capture this aggregated rationale. The conceptual work is implemented in a computerized tool, which enables analyses of collective method rationale in product development projects. These are the results of an action research project and we present a pilot test of the computerized tool to demonstrate the concept.

Understanding the performance of business processes is an important part of any business process intelligence project. From historical information recorded in event logs, performance can be measured and visualized on a discovered process model. Thereby the accuracy of the measured performance, e.g., waiting time, greatly depends on (1) the availability of start and completion events for activities in the event log, i.e. transactional information, and (2) the ability to differentiate between subtle control flow aspects, e.g. concurrent and interleaved execution. Current process discovery algorithms either do not use activity life cycle information in a systematic way or cannot distinguish subtle control-flow aspects, leading to less accurate performance measurements. In this paper, we investigate the automatic discovery of process models from event logs, such that performance can be measured more accurately. We discuss ways of systematically treating life cycle information in process discovery and their implications. We introduce a process discovery technique that is able to handle life cycle data and that distinguishes concurrency and interleaving. Finally, we show that it can discover models and reliable performance information from event logs only.

Enterprises' networks (formal and informal) are an ever-growing economic phenomenon, especially in Europe, characterised by a large number of Small and Medium Enterprises. The new economic opportunities are making possible the creation of new types of organizations where the deployment of information technology into knowledge work will increase organizational productivity and effectiveness. The aim of the paper is to summarise the results of the NEMESYS research project funded under the Lazio Region Structural Funds, where a digital platform has been developed in order to deliver services to enterprise networks independently from the network shape and enabling efficiency and effectiveness of the business activities.

Using intelligent agents can be a good alternative for the automated supply chain management in e-commerce environment and decision support in current commerce practices [8]. This study focuses on finding the optimal structure of intelligent agents that yield the best performance for supply chain management. This study was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, a model for agent was developed and implemented. In the model we applied Q-learning, Softmax function, and epsilon-greedy to control the inventory threshold dynamically and used a sliding window protocol for flexible bidding strategy. Also, a testing environment with competing agents was implemented. In the second phase, two agents of different types were tested against each other in the same simulation. This simulation was played twice to compare our agent with two other types of agents. Results of simulations shows that our agent has better performance in two different simulations.

Process manager plays the central role in crisis management. In order to capture the intentions of the process manager, the process should be specified at a strategic level. In order to analyze how these intentions are fulfilled during the process execution, the process should be specified at an operational level. Whereas the variety of techniques for goal modeling and process modeling is presented in the market, possibility to design a process seamlessly, from intentions (process goals) to executable scenarios, remains a challenging task. In this paper, we introduce an approach for modeling and simulating a crisis management process from goals to scenarios. We consider an example of flood management process specified for floods on Oka River in the Moscow region in Russia. In order to specify the intentions behind the flood management process, we use MAP formalism. For representing the process at the operational level, we use Statecharts formalism. To align the strategic and operation process levels, we translate the MAP model of flood management process to statecharts. We simulate the flood management process, showing how the process goals defined on the strategic level can be achieved by various scenarios executed in the operational level.

There exist two major modeling paradigms for business process modeling: The predominant activity centric one and the artifact centric paradigm. Both are suitable for modeling and for executing business processes. However, process models are typically designed from different perspectives. Current translation methods operate on the syntactic level, preserving the point of view of the source process. The results of such translations are not particularly useful, understandable and insightful for stakeholders. In this paper we motivate the need for ontology-guided translations by comparing the results of a purely syntactic translation with a manual translation. We discuss shortcomings of the generated solutions and propose an ontology-based framework and sketch corresponding translation method for the generation of semantic translations, which allow to incorporate the point of view of the target modeling paradigm.

The purpose of this study is to figure out to what extent organizations are implementing the concept of strategic management. The research focus is on the cloud based online accounting market. The importance of this study derives, because there is a positive correlation between the application of strategic management and economical success. As a fundamental model, the approach of strategic management by Hans H. Hinterhuber will be used. To explore the degree of implementation a qualitative content analysis was carried out. Furthermore a tool for evaluation of the implementation was elaborated. The dimension product strategy was added to the underlying approach. Important insights regarding the implementation and the differences between start-ups and longer established organizations derived. The result of this study is that the strategic management is implemented to a mediocre degree. Furthermore, the study shows where the deficits according to the implementation lie.
