We conduct a large-scale empirical study on the sharing behavior in social media to measure the effect of message features and initial messengers on information diffusion. Our analysis focuses on messages created by companies and utilizes both textual and visual semantic content by employing state-of-the-art machine learning methods: topic modeling and deep learning. We find that messages with multiple conspicuous images and messengers with similar content are crucial in the diffusion process. Our approach for semantic content analysis, particularly for visual content, bridges advanced machine learning techniques for effective marketing and social media strategies.

The utilisation of the full flexibility of on-demand IT service provisioning requires in-depth knowledge on service performance. Otherwise reduction in cost going along with an increase of availability cannot be achieved. Thus, IT service decision methods incorporating IT service incident data are required. However, a lot of these models cannot be evaluated in a satisfactory fashion due to the lack of real-world incident data. To address this problem, we identify the need for realistic synthetic incident data for IT services. We stipulate the composition of this incident data and proclaim a procedure enabling the creation of realistic synthetic incident data for IT services allowing for a thorough evaluation of any formal decision model that relies on these forms of data sources.

The "sharing revolution" would not be possible without digital technologies and the diffusion of ICT worldwide. ICT has created a new level playing field also thanks to peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms, and a new concept, the "sharing and collaborative consumption online", is expanding. This concept is based on what can be called CASH - "collaboration", "access", "sharing" rather than "ownership" meant also as a chance to collect money in addition to monthly salary. This paper aims to describe a successful P2P platform that well reflect the CASH concept, Airbnb, currently the leader of the online accommodation marketplace, using the case study approach and the SWOT analysis methodology. This analysis is useful in order to understand the main features and functioning of such a platform and what to expect for the years to come. Results show that Airbnb is growing at high speed in terms of users and profits but some challenges have to be faced in the next future linked to regulatory issues and to traditional accommodation market and citizens reactions.

Today, business transactions, including business processes and data management, are almost entirely electronic in nature. With regards to product information, enterprises are faced with the challenge of how to handle more and more information about products. Also, products information is getting more complex as enterprises tend to produce and offer more customizable products. information systems of enterprises need functions based on specific technologies to be able to reduce and interpret the complexity of product information. This paper pursues the question, how the state of the art in information systems can be improved by the use of semantic technologies. For this purpose, three use cases of product information systems to be improved are described and approaches based on semantic technologies are proposed. The selected use cases are data integration, data quality and workflow integration.

The crowdsourcing literature is dominated by the view that the crowd can be controlled and that owners should adopt different technologies to control it and its output. This paper questions the agency and role of the crowd. Specifically, it questions how and to what extent can control over the crowd be exercised. To this end, the paper adopts an interpretive approach to the enquiry. It examines a case of crowdsourcing in the understudied area of humanitarian response. Concepts from structuration theory are adopted to interpret the data. The analysis reveals the paradox of crowd interaction and owner control in crowdsourcing. It shows the crowd to be made up of knowledgeable and reflexive groups that effectively tackle methods aimed at controlling them. The implications of the study are then discussed.

Video surveillance has become the main tool due to its rich, intuitive and accurate information. However, with the large-scale construction of video surveillance systems all over the world, problems such as "useful information and clues cannot be found immediately with video big data" decrease detecting efficiency during crime prediction and public security governance. This paper concludes a novel architecture for next generation public security system, and the "front+back" pattern is adopted. Under the architecture, cloud computing technologies such as distributed storage and computing, data retrieval of huge and heterogeneous data are introduced, and multiple optimized strategies to enhance the utilization of resources and efficiency of tasks.

Most research on platform innovation studies the phenomena from a distance due to lack of access. This paper reports from within an action research case of platform development in a small-scale context. The case is based on a regional business initiative with the goal to establish an arena for mobile commerce and stimulate local industry growth. It was conducted in collaboration between researchers and third-party developers. The article shows how the initial phases of platformization are characterized by socio-technical arrangements, co-creation of boundary resources and intimate knowledge communication. The paper contributes to platform research by acknowledging a small-scale context for platform research. It further develops distributed tuning of boundary resources into an intimate fine-tuning process that we illustrate is valid for a small-scale context.

The need for constant adaptation to address emerging demands or undesired events within organizations has grown. Unplanned situations may occur at any time during process execution and the design of a process model that predicts all paths should give place to flexible "organic" design. This paper addresses the problem of how to provide mechanisms for dynamic adaptation in Process-Aware information Systems. On top of a theory for context-aware information systems, we propose a context management framework that aims to automate dynamic process adaptation by re-planning a process instance. The proposal was partially implemented and evaluated in a real case scenario.

In order to remain useful test scripts must evolve parallel to the test objects they are intended to test. In the approach described here the test objects are web services whose test script is derived from the web service interface definition. The test script structure is automatically generated from the WSDL structure with tags and attributes, however, the content, i.e. the test data has to be inserted by hand. From this script service requests are automatically generated and service responses automatically validated. As with other generated software artifacts, once the structure of the interface or the logic of the targeted service is changed, the content of the test script is no longer valid. It has to be altered and/or enhanced to fit the new interface structure and/or the altered service logic. In this paper the author proposes a semi-automated approach to solving this test maintenance problem and explains how it has been implemented in a web service testing tool by employing data reverse engineering techniques. The author also report on his experience with the approach when maintaining a test in the field.

Service oriented perspectives represent an opportunity of innovation and an answer to current challenges for social welfare, sustainable development and everyday life. The prevention of food waste requires new networked and collaborating competences, in the light of the increasing inefficiencies of modern economic growth models and the improvement of new paradigms for sustainable development. This research presents the case of a project that, while addressing food waste at the level of several organizations throughout the supply chain, implemented a recovering process to reduce food impairment. The project ( R.e.b.u.s.) applies the efficiency system originally developed for school and university canteens to other food donors. In order to support this project, a far-reaching educational program for sustainable development was started in schools, universities and through public events. By educating the local community and enhancing processes that drive a change in behaviour, this initiative proved essential for the successful prevention of food waste.
