The term 'framework' appears very often in scientific publications like journals and conferences. However, there is no universal definition of a framework. It seems that the term is not used in a consistent way by authors publishing on frameworks since they have very little in common compared to each other. The goal of this work is to analyse and show how frameworks in the fields of information systems are handled in the scientific literature over the past 10 years as well as giving a universal definition of the term 'framework' based on the relevant studies. The systematic literature review will serve to identify those studies and to categorize the identified frameworks. The contributions of this work are (1) a general overview about frameworks in the past 10 years, (2) a proposed categorization of frameworks and (3) a general definition of the term 'framework'.

The ongoing development of Internet of Things technologies leads to the interweaving of the virtual world of software with the physical world. However, applying workflow technologies for automating processes in these Cyber-physical Systems (CPS) poses new challenges as the real world effects of a process have to be verified to provide a consistent view of the cyber and physical world executions. In this work we present a synchronization and adaptation mechanism for processes based on theMAPE-K feedback loop for self-adaptive systems. By applying this loop, sensor and context information can be used to verify the real world effects of workflow execution and adapt the process in case of errors. The approach increases autonomy and resilience of process execution in CPS due to the self-adaptation capabilities. We present generic extensions to process meta-models and execution engines to implement the feedback loop and discuss our approach within a smart home scenario.

The design and delivery of services have changed tremendously over the last decade. Yet the conceptualization of services should place a greater emphasis on the social and environmental aspects of value design, and services should also be incorporated as an essential part in the production and delivery of products. The addition of clean services (CleanServs) to the various stages of the product's life cycle can reduce both resource use and pollution emission. Moreover, servicizing the product's life cycle can also add various environmental and social values, and thereby increasing the sustainability of the final solution. Finally, the potential of servicizing to increase the sustainability of the physical resources based life cycle of goods was illustrated by the example of the life cycle of printed book.

Connected, digitised products are assemblages that comprise digital and physical components and are linked to digital support infrastructures. Given that re-programmability of digital components allows a product designer to adopt a design philosophy that embraces incompleteness and continuous improvement, digitised (tangible) products may also become incomplete and open-ended if such a philosophy is embraced. This research uses Tesla Model S as a case study to explore the mutability of a passenger car over time. The results show that a type of a product that has traditionally been seen as stable may become open-ended, incomplete and mutable in terms of its specifications and functionality. This brings forward the relevance of complementary architectural frames and principles to conceptualise differing design cycles among physical and digital components in innovation and product management while also showing blurring boundaries of control between the owner and the manufacturer of a product.

Due to the continuous market change the enterprises need to react fast. To do that a better understanding of the way to work is needed. Indeed this was a real need of a manufacturing enterprise working in the production of coffee machines and selling them all over the world. In this paper, we present the experience made in the application of process mining techniques on a rich set of data that such enterprise collected during the last six years. We compare five mining algorithms, such as: alpha-algorithm, Heuristics Miner, Integer Linear Programming Miner, Inductive Miner, Evolutionary Tree Miner. We evaluated algorithms according to specific quality criteria: fitness, precision, generalization and simplicity. Even if comparison studies are already available in the literature we check them according to our working context. We conclude that the Inductive Miner algorithm is especially suited for discovering production chain processes in the context under study. The application of process mining gives the enterprise a comprehensive picture of the internal process organization. Resulting models were used by the company with successful results to motivate the discussion on the need of developing a flexible production chain.

A review of 3065 Arab e-commerce websites revealed that Web designers mostly adopt Western-influenced interface metaphors and pay scant attention to creating Arab culture-specific visual metaphors. In this research, we first collected and analyzed Arabic stories to extract themes for the creation of culturally attuned visual metaphors for use as Web interface elements. After considering various plausible themes, we specifically focused on the "wish list" metaphor as the object of our study. A subsequent eye-tracking experiment based on alternative designs of a shopping website provided evidence that participants paid more attention to the localized elements of website design. A questionnaire-based study further confirmed that localization of site design in general, and the use of culturally attuned visual metaphors in particular, gains the attention of Arab e-shoppers. The results provide both practitioners and researchers deeper insights into how culture shapes the design of websites.

[Context and motivation] Penetration testing is one key technique for discovering vulnerabilities, so that software can be made more secure. [Question/problem] Alignment between modeling techniques used earlier in a project and the development of penetration tests could enable a more systematic approach to such testing, and in some cases also enable creativity. [Principal ideas/results] This paper proposes an extension of HARM (Hacker Attack Representation Method) to achieve a systematic approach to penetration test development. [Contributions] The paper gives an outline of the approach, illustrated by an e-exam case study.

The main aim of the paper is to analyse social CRM, specifically Facebook communication of mobile operators in the United States, the Czech Republic, and France to examine the state of social customer care on social networking sites and consider possibilities, need for automatization and improvement of EIS. The analysis is based on messages and answers posted on Facebook pages and measuring the response time on over 1.3 million unique questions. It identifies trends, looks for certain repeating patterns or correlations and as a result offers a comprehensive report on the current use of social media as a channel for customer care amongst mobile operators. The theoretical background will also propose an advice on how to maintain a healthy relationship with customers on social networks and add a real value both for customers and company.

Despite recent technological innovations in the media authoring ecosystem, one example being the ability to video record a scene with a 360 degree or so-called omni-directional field of view, video consumption to date largely remains a lean-back type of endeavor. This paper fuses the Augmented Video Viewing paradigm with 360 degree video technology to give rise to augmented Omni-Directional Video (ODV), a novel content format that holds promise to more deeply engage viewers and that unlocks more active ways of interacting with omni-directional video footage. The augmented ODV principle is exposed through a collection of standards-compliant Web interfaces to ease adoption by developers. At the same time, its Web-driven design maximizes the applicability of the technology, both in terms of consumption platforms and usage domains. Two use case prototypes showcase the artistic expressiveness of the augmented ODV methodology, while performance evaluation results establish the modest computational footprint of its implementation.

It has been on the political agenda for the local governments how to satisfy their citizens to enhance their commitment and contribution to the communities. Especially in this ageing population era with tight fiscal conditions, it is essential for the government to know the prioritised policy menu in realising citizen satisfaction. This study aims to explore an applicable system based on citizen survey result. In our study, following literature review, we conducted focus group discussions to explore citizens' willingness to participate in local policy design, which leads us to be convinced that some activated citizens are supportive to the local governmental policy decision. Based on this qualitative result, we tried to make a cognitive map which indicated which policy fields are prioritised by citizens. Throughout this procedure, we validate the feasible practice to support local governmental decision making based on the result of citizen survey.
