Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are considered as key elements of the next industrial revolution which have an enormous innovation potential. However, the existing gap between methods, modelling approaches and viewpoints of the disciplines involved in CPS development creates significant difficulties for creating viable CPS solutions. In this paper we investigate the potential of using enterprise modelling as an integrative method for large parts of CPS development projects. The work is based on a case study from transportation industry. The main contributions of this paper are (1) a case study from transportation illustrating CPS development with business and technical aspects, (2) a discussion of enterprise modelling potential in different development phases of CPS, and (3) a proposal for a CPS development process integrating technical and business aspects.

The paper describes the development of a fleet management system for public transport services, operating in semi heterarchical mode: (1) hierarchical on long term, with optimal activity planning and resource scheduling;(2) heterarchical-agile and robust at disturbances, with real-time rescheduling of unavailable drivers, not operational busses and blocked routes. The holonic paradigm is used;the holonic transport control architecture, the types of holons and the basic cooperation rules between them are presented. The paper describes the Service Scheduler, as centralized, hierarchical information system used for optimized, long-term capacity managing. The decentralized, heterarchical Delegate MAS (Multi-agent System) performs real-time change management for capacity and demand matching, based on intelligent devices embedded on resources. An implementing MAS framework based on JADE is proposed.

Despite the numerous benefits that the implementation of a servitization strategy can bring to manufacturing companies, several challenges have to be faced. Among others, changes in competences, resources, organisational structure and value network relationships are required in order to create, capture and deliver new value. In such a context, this paper investigates how the servitization level of a product-service offering impacts on a product-service provider as well as on its value-creation network. A theoretical conceptual model, derived from literature, is developed and then expanded into an explanatory conceptual framework through a case-based methodology. Evidence from the empirical investigation is then discussed and summarised into twelve propositions. Finally, contribution to both theory and practice, as well as some directions for future research, is pointed out.

Coordination processes are business processes that involve independent profit-and-loss responsible business actors who collectively provide something of value to a customer. Coordination processes are meant to be profitable for the business actors that execute them. However, because business actors are independent, there is also an increased risk of fraud. To compute profitability as well as quantify the risk of fraud, we need to attach value models to coordination process models. In this paper, we propose guidelines for deriving a value model from any coordination process model. Next, we show how our approach can be used to identify possibilities of fraud offered by a coordination process, as well as quantify the financial impact of known fraudulent processes. Finally, we discuss additional applications, such as identifying commercially superfluous tasks, or missing tasks needed to achieve a financially sustainable process.

[Motivation]: There are numerous software companies worldwide that split the software development life cycle into at least two separate projects an initial project where a requirements specification document is prepared;and a follow-up project where the previously prepared requirements document is used as input to developing a software application. These follow-up projects can also be delegated to a third party, as occurs in numerous global software development scenarios. Effort estimation is one of the cornerstones of any type of project management;however, a systematic literature review on requirements effort estimation found hardly any empirical study investigating this topic. [Objective]: The goal of this paper is to describe an industrial case study where an expert-based requirements effort estimation model was built and validated for the Brazilian Navy. [Method]: A knowledge engineering of Bayesian networks process was employed to build the requirements effort estimation model. [Results]: The expert-based requirements effort estimation model was built with the participation of seven software requirements analysts and project managers, leading to 28 prediction factors and 30+ relationships. The model was validated based on real data from 11 large requirements specification projects. The model was incorporated into the Brazilian navy's quality assurance process to be used by their software requirements analysts and managers. [Conclusion]: This paper details a case study where an expert-based requirements effort estimation model based solely on knowledge from requirements analysts and project managers was successfully built to help the Brazilian Navy estimate the requirements effort for their projects.

In the paper general tendencies of learning graphics in CAD/CAM are described in the aspects of evaluation of performance. The common problems in learning of such systems and tools, in knowledge assessment and in the efficiency and quality of usage of CAD/CAM in graphics are searched. In time when IT technologies and use of automatization is live topic in researches about technology enhanced learning with the aid of intelligent learning systems is necessary to create such tools for fast and accurate result of learning process. Adaptive learning and knowledge assessment principle analysis and description of intellectual tutoring system created are given in the research. The ITS created carries out the compilation of the user's accomplished graphical operations in CAM/CAD system, the analysis of the time spent and data processing. These data help to understand for which operations the user has spent the most time as well as in how many steps the designer has accomplished the task.

Enterprises have a large amount of information Technology (IT) elements for supporting their business. Enterprise models represent the state of IT and business elements and the relation between them in a certain moment. However, in some cases it is difficult to build models that accurately represent the enterprise because information may vary fast over time, or because the granularity of the model may be inadequate for its purpose. When models that are imprecise and do not represent accurately the enterprise are used to perform analysis, it is necessary to evaluate their suitability and determine whether they can be used or if better models have to be constructed. In this paper, we focus on this problem and propose an approach for evaluating the level of imprecision of enterprise models based on the impact and sensitivity of imprecise information regarding an analysis method.

Regulatory rules force most enterprises to implement a risk management system with a detailed documentation of their risk situation. In parallel, business processes which can be source and target of risks are systematically documented. Hence, it seems obvious to combine both tasks. Despite research's long lasting focus on risk management and business process management, only few approaches exist that try to fully integrate risk aspects into business process models. Most methods consider risk management only partly. This paper therefore develops a comprehensive concept for the integration of risk aspects into business process modeling. It is based on the business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0, that only needs to be extended carefully.

The concept of strategic sourcing recognizes that procurement is not just a cost function, but supports the firm's effort to achieve its long-term objectives. Organizations more and more expect from their chief procurement officer (CPO) to develop long-term and short-term plans in procurement. Typically, however, procurement is driven by a tactical spend management sourcing process aimed at cost saving targets, which is not able to support organizations in achieving strategic objectives like innovation, value creation, sustainable competitive advantage and long-term partnerships. A paradigm shift from a tactical way of thinking about sourcing to a more strategic way of thinking is needed by focusing on value-driven targets. To help realize the new paradigm of value-driven management in sourcing, we designed a systemic view on strategic sourcing based on Service-Dominant Logic and (service) systems thinking. We used this systemic view to develop the conceptual basis of a new modeling and analysis language that helps organizations in exploring sourcing alternatives according to value-driven management.

Nowadays, virtually all industries are impacted by the digitalization of business enabled by information and communication technologies. Consequently, it is a major challenge to any business to increase its ability to innovate through information systems. However the effort and the investments of companies are extremely varied, they do not have the same level of maturity with respect to their innovation strategy. While some highly mature use effective approaches, others still act as novices or use inadequate practices. The question raised in this paper is how to evaluate the level of maturity of an organization with respect to information systems based innovation. Also, the question concerns the identification of the salient features of ICT centred innovation maturity models. Taking these issues into account, the paper makes the following contributions: (i) a review of sixteen innovation maturity models collected from the research and the practitioners community, gathering facts about the models and about their effectiveness;(ii) a comparative analysis of these models.
