Computer-mediated collaboration is widely used in various organizations. Trust has proved to have an influence on online collaboration. This paper aims to conduct an in-depth investigation on an important trust factor during online collaboration, which is risk. The research samples were collected from Chinese part-time MBA students. They were invited to use the group support system (GSS) designed under the theory of facilitated collaboration with the thinkLets method to support the online collaboration. During this longitudinal research, questionnaires were collected at three stages, namely, at the beginning, during and at the end of the experiment, interviews were also conducted. Results show the level of trust was raised over time. Among all the trust factors, risk shows the most significant change, and the level of risk is decreased. Finally, the correlation analysis was conducted to detect the relationship between risk and trust in facilitated collaboration.

Due to the global economic and financial crisis the application of cost saving techniques now receives even more attention than before. Organizations are searching for new ways of cutting costs, specially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that due to their small size and market exposure need cost awareness and efficiency more than ever. However, efficient and accurate costing methodologies are out of reach for most SMEs, since these methodologies usually involve hiring expensive consulting firms. In this research we propose that costing should be offered as a service to reduce the cost of cost analysis. Our research proposal is a cloud-based costing system that offers costing as a service using Time-Driven Activity Based Costing (TDABC) methodology and the concept of business Process Costing Templates that together reduce the cost of cost analysis, especially for SMEs. This proposal was demonstrated in three Portuguese organizations from different industries. The evaluation based on experts and practitioners' feedback showed that the proposal has potential to contribute to the research problem.

The success of Groupon creates many followers who attract consumers by providing location-based electronic coupons with big discount. Despite of its great growth rate, there were many complaints from consumers. The purpose of this research is to learn how service quality of vendors (i.e. the websites selling the electronic coupons) and service providers (i.e. the stores where consumers can redeem coupons) interactively affect the intention to repurchase coupons from a vendor or a service provider. The results indicate that service quality of both the vendor and the service provider will affect the intention to repurchase coupons from vendor, but the service provider's service quality has higher effect. It means that if a service provider does not provide good quality, it will affect the sales of the coupon vendor. The service quality of service provider will affect the intention to buy service from the service provider at either the regular price or the coupon price. These findings indicate the coupon vendor should be careful in recruiting service providers.

Recent approaches for managing Enterprise Architecture (EA) models provide technical systems to procure information from existing repositories within the application landscape of an organization. Beyond technical solutions, social factors are of utmost importance to implement a successful EA initiative. Institutional theory has for example been employed to understand crucial factors for realizing EA Management (EAM) benefits through architectural thinking. Yet, it remains unclear how these social factors influence a federated approach for EA model management. Based on a socio-technical systems perspective, we investigate success factors for Federated EA Model Management (FEAMM) by conducting qualitative interviews with industry experts. Our findings suggest that success factors for FEAMM are related to the model sources, modeling instruments, and model integration aspects from a technical perspective as well as to organizational grounding, governance, enforcement, efficiency, goal alignment, and trust from a social perspective.

This study adapted and applied a traditional randori-style kata to a web programming class, in order to help undergraduate students improve their programming skills. The process in the traditional randori-style kata was modified to match to the nature of XML. The results indicated that the modified randori-style kata is an effective method for the programming course and the students to enhance their programming skills. The activity also helped the students to repetitively review and reapply theories and knowledge to programming problems. The kata can stimulate the learning system, enhance self-confidence, and improve the relationships among the students.

Process mining automatically generates process models from event logs. In multidimensional process mining, these models can be analyzed from various viewpoints by clustering event traces according to their attributes, e.g. age or region of the patient for a healthcare process. For each cluster, a distinct process model is calculated. Since these models are supposed to be identical in most parts, differences between them are hard to spot. Therefore, a tool for emphasizing these differences is needed. To face the different challenges presented by multidimensional process mining like the representational bias, such an approach has to be customizable to support different modeling languages and different layout and differencing algorithms. This paper presents a generic approach to calculate and visualize differences between process models which can be used to compare models in multidimensional process mining.

This paper presents a business process management (BPM) system aimed at knowledge-based service organizations. The core activity of these organizations consists on the delivery of high-valued services tailored to each customer. When compared to product-based organizations, service organizations have more dynamic and diversified business portfolios and business processes, due to the need to adapt to evolving customer needs. The efficiency of business process management (BPM) solutions is widely recognised as far as high volume standardized processes are concerned, but the unsuitability of these systems to handle customizable service requests is also widely acknowledged. With this in mind, a new BPM platform, hereafter referred to as the soBPM platform, was designed and deployed. This platform is intended to offer a higher degree of flexibility, both at process design-time and process run-time. The platform implements a soft-automation process management approach that will be discussed in the first part of the paper. Then, the deployment of the platform at the Shared Service Center of a large University will be presented.

In this paper we analyze frameworks for mobile cross-platform development according to their influence on energy consumed by the developed applications. We consider the use of different smartphones sensors, e.g., GPS, accelerometer, etc., and features, e.g., acquiring video or audio from the environment. In particular, we have studied how the amount of required energy for the same operation changes according to the used framework. We use an hardware and software tool to measure energy consumed by the applications developed natively, as a web application or using two frameworks, Titanium and PhoneGap. Our experiments have shown that frameworks have a significant impact on energy consumption which greatly increases compared to an equal native application. Moreover, the amount of consumed energy is not the same for all frameworks.

Since the emergence of electronic commerce the tourism industry has undergone a substantial transformation. Especially travel agencies that are faced with growing online competition are increasingly dependent on achieving online sales. This study investigates antecedents of consumers' intention to book trips online on travel agencies' websites. The research draws on an integrated research model based on the technology acceptance model and customer satisfaction as introduced in the DeLone and McLean model on information system success. Two alternative models were tested: A parsimonious basic model includes information quality and system quality as object-based beliefs that influence satisfaction as an object-based attitude. The second model is extended and includes a third object-based belief, that is, service quality. Satisfaction is hypothesized to impact perceived usefulness that is a driver of perceived ease of use and online booking intention. Both models were tested with survey data from 292 consumers. The study provides several scholarly and managerial implications for the online distribution of tourism services.

New business concepts such as Enterprise 2.0 foster the use of social software in enterprises. Especially social production significantly increases the amount of data in the context of business processes. Unfortunately, these data are still an unearthed treasure in many enterprises. Due to advances in data processing such as Big Data, the exploitation of context data becomes feasible. To provide a foundation for the methodical exploitation of context data, this paper introduces a classification, based on two classes, intrinsic and extrinsic data.
