Data Integration (DI) is the problem of combining a set of heterogeneous, autonomous data sources and providing the user with a unified view of these data. Integrating data raises several challenges, since the designer usually encounters incompatible data models characterized by differences in structure and semantics. One of the hardest challenges is to define correspondences between schema elements (e.g., attributes) to determine how they relate to each other. Since most business data is currently stored in relational databases, here present a declarative and formal approach to specify 1-to-1, 1-m, and m-to-n correspondences between relational schema components. Differently from usual approaches, our (CAs) have semantics and can deal with outer-joins and data-metadata relationships. Finally, we demonstrate how to use the CAs to generate mapping expressions in the form of SQL queries, and we present some preliminary tests to verify the performance of the generated queries.

Much of the research on Performance Management (PM) for collaborative enterprises (CE) is based on qualitative considerations and does not consider the impact of modern information Systems both on the collaborative/competitive dimension of firms and on the PM process. The peculiarities of the different types of CEs are not clearly addressed and managed in literature, and the performance measurements are often oriented to specific aspects rather than to assess the overall quality of business. Moreover, in several proposals, the skills and the time required to the managers of CEs are far from those available in the largest part of existing SMEs. In this scenario the objective of the paper is to discuss how conceptual modeling techniques, and namely ontologies and performance modeling, can contribute to better manage collaborative enterprises.

Approximately 60 % of the world's workforce is currently employed by either public or private branches of the Service Sector and this value rises to 80 % in developed countries. There is also a tendency towards constant growth in the Service Sector at an international level, with people working in a broad spectrum of areas such as tourism, commerce, logistics, finance, insurance and community, social and personal services. However, and in spite of the fact that society increasingly needs more professionals who are oriented towards this sector, there are hardly any specific training plans for service professionals. This paper presents a comparative analysis about training programs in Service Science Management and Engineering (SSME). This comparative analysis was made during the definition and creation of a new curriculum for training of professionals in SSME which will be taught at the Rey Juan Carlos University, in Madrid, Spain, from the next academic year onwards. But available concepts to describe decision situations are still in their infancy. A variety of existing model-based approaches to aid decision making have been developed in adjacent research fields. The paper investigates a selection of these approaches and reconstructs central concepts in the form of meta models. Implications and ways of integrating decision concepts with existing enterprise modeling methods are considered, and possible avenues for the field of enterprise modeling are discussed.

Whether or how firms can employ the halo effect to facilitate their mobile payment service adoption remains a critical and puzzling issue in e-commerce research. Using the schema theory and the value literature as theoretical lenses, this study investigates the role of halo effect on mobile payment value perceptions and usage intentions. More specifically, we identify two types of mobile payment value: utilitarian and hedonic value. A field survey with 273 responses is conducted to test the research model and hypotheses. Our findings show that the two factors of the web-mobile payment relationship, namely perceived similarity and perceived business tie, can lead to increased value perceptions of mobile payment. Moreover, both utilitarian value and hedonic value are positively associated with mobile payment usage intention. We expect this study can provide valuable insights regarding the significant role of halo effect when consumers make the decision to use mobile payment services. Limitations, theoretical and practical implications are also discussed.

The paper describes a, framework and implementing issues addressing service orientation in the management and control of enterprises. A hybrid, semi-heterarchical control model based on the paradigm of holonic manufacturing is proposed;it switches its operating mode from hierarchical to heterarchical in the presence of perturbations to ensure both global optimization and agility to changes in batch orders, while featuring robustness to disturbances in the production environment. In order to ensure these conflicting functionalities, a service oriented architecture is proposed and implemented, whose structure includes a distributed fault-tolerant Resource Service Access Model. Besides the design of a generic structural and dynamic model, a real implementation solution is proposed using a multi-agent framework.

Commercially provided electronic services commonly operate on top of a complex, highly-interconnected infrastructure, which provides a multitude of entry points for attackers. Providers of e-services also operate in dynamic, highly competitive markets, which provides fertile ground for fraud. Before a business idea to provide commercial e-services is implemented in practice, it should therefore be analysed on its fraud potential. This analysis is a risk assessment process, in which risks are ordered on severity and the unacceptable ones are mitigated. Mitigations may consist of changes in the e-service network to reduce the attractiveness of fraud for the fraudster, or changes in coordination process steps or IT architecture elements to make fraud harder or better detectable. We propose to use e(3) value business value models for the identification and quantification of risks associated with e-service packages. This allows for impact estimation as well as understanding the attacker's business cases. We show how the e(3) value ontology - with minimal extensions can be used to analyse known telecommunication fraud scenarios. We also show how the approach can be used to quantify infrastructure risks. Based on the results, as well as feedback from practitioners, we discuss the scope and limits of generalizability of our approach.

This paper focuses on how different aspects of social capital facilitate or prevent clan control in two related inter-organizational system (IOS) projects during the projects' four years life span. We observed the building of social ties in the projects and tried to understand how trust is build or destroyed in large teams, which are organizationally and physically separated, but need to work together for an extended period of time. The data for this qualitative study was collected from two large IOS projects. We analyzed how the social capital helps us to interpret the process of building clan control in an IOS project. We found out that clan control is difficult to achieve and the organizations need to be aware of ways of building social capital and be able to build and maintain social capital across organizational borders to succeed in such projects.
