Choreographic models express coordination between business roles, in contrast to standard process models that merge local control flow and communication between parties. A choreography is realizable, also known as endpoint projectable, if the independent behaviour of each role in composition with other roles, only behaves exactly in the same way as described in the choreography. We introduce a novel choreographic language expressing safety and liveness properties, incorporating multi-perspective constraints in communication flows, data, and time. This language builds upon recent developments in declarative choreographies using the Dynamic Condition Response (DCR) graph formalism and extends it to accommodate data and time. The interaction between multiple dimensions can render models unrealizable, so we determine the conditions required for realizability through causal relationships within multi-perspective declarative choreographies. This way, realizable choreographies are guaranteed freedom of conflicts in the message exchanges that otherwise can lead to deadlocks.

Digital marketing is the main marketing method and development trend of enterprises in the era of digital economy. The study of digital marketing is of great significance to the practice of digital economy in China. This paper takes the digital marketing papers published by CNKI database from 2012 to 2022 as the research object, analyzes the authors, publishing institutions and keywords, shows the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and research hotspots of digital marketing research in China, and tracks the most cutting-edge research issues by the CiteSpace tool to draw a visual knowledge graph. The development momentum of digital marketing in China is good, but it needs to be strengthened the cooperative relationship between authors and institutions. The research hot topic is mainly the strategy research in different fields, which needs to be further deepened. The focus of future research is mainly on community, intelligence, diversification and virtual reality.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is disrupting numerous fields of human endeavors, including software startups. While GenAI tools hold the promise of accelerating innovation, improving product quality, and enhancing decision-making, software startups during their inception stage, a phase characterized by high uncertainty and limited resources, may face significant challenges in using these technologies. However, understanding the opportunities and challenges that GenAI brings to software startups is scarce due to the nascent nature of GenAI tools. Our study aims to provide an initial understanding of the intriguing research phenomenon of GenAI application in early-stage software startups. An action case study approach is employed in our study. We examined two software startups within a university setting, focusing on how these teams utilized GenAI tools in the inception stage. The findings revealed 11 opportunities and 10 challenges of using GenAI tools in the inception stage. Novel findings in the startup context include opportunities like brand identity development, generating landing pages, simulating customer feedback, and validating MVP. In contrast, challenges include a function-oriented rather than problem-oriented and a tendency to please rather than provide critical feedback. The findings suggest that while GenAI tools offer valuable benefits for startups, successful adoption requires careful consideration of technical and non-technical factors. This research opens avenues for future studies on integrating GenAI in early-stage software startups.

The continuous flow of data collected by Internet of Things (IoT) devices, has revolutionised our ability to understand and interact with the world across various applications. However, this data must be prepared and transformed into event data before analysis can begin. In this paper, we shed light on the potential of leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) in event abstraction and integration. Our approach aims to create event records from raw sensor readings and merge the logs from multiple IoT sources into a single event log suitable for further Process Mining applications. We demonstrate the capabilities of LLMs in event abstraction considering a case study for IoT application in elderly care and longitudinal health monitoring. The results, showing on average an accuracy of 90% in detecting high-level activities. These results highlight LLMs' promising potential in addressing event abstraction and integration challenges, effectively bridging the existing gap.

Since the introduction of OpenAI's ChatGPT, the underlying technology of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) has gained tremendous interest in academia. Researchers began experimenting with LLMs' capabilities in various domains, including business process modeling. While these works indicate a promising potential of LLMs for this task, they do not consider the number of tokens of the prompting strategies and output formats. However, the token amount is the number one cost driver for LLM-based process modeling. In addition, an efficient representation of the conversation state has not been addressed so far. This paper addresses these concerns and introduces and evaluates an approach for efficient LLM-based conversational process modeling. We have implemented our approach as a publicly available online tool. In our experiments, we observed average input token reductions of 94% compared to an existing tool while maintaining even better levels of correctness. Furthermore, a user study at a public science fair indicates solid numbers for the tool's usefulness.

Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) improves the collaboration between developers and stakeholders following agile software development practices. Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) is an extension of BDD where requirements are accompanied by automated acceptance tests, translating functional acceptance criteria linked to requirements. While BDD and ATDD have been successfully applied in industry, few universities report on teaching BDD and ATDD principles as part of their curriculum. However, there is a need for education providers to teach industry-relevant practices so that junior developers' skills are better aligned to industry's expectations. Therefore, we report on how BDD and ATDD techniques have been taught in a two-semester software engineering project, including (i) the lack of observed evidence on the implications of applying BDD and ATDD on the functional suitability of software products, (ii) the lack of engagement with BDD and ATDD from students, and (ii) recommendations to educators to improve students' engagement with these practices.

This study explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing recruitment practices and the skills recruiters need to succeed in AI-driven environment. We conducted a survey using open-ended questions and received responses from 32 professionals. The goal was to understand how AI is influencing the roles and responsibilities of recruiters. The findings highlight the importance of efficiency, bias reduction, learning and improvement, speed and consistency, and data- driven insights in promoting effective collaboration between humans and AI in recruitment. This insight has valuable implications for understanding the impact of AI on recruitment and the essential skills recruiters need to understand and adapt to AI-driven processes.

Self-organizing teams are a common way of organizing teamwork in sectors related to modern technologies, especially in programming teams. Agile methods often promote and advocate such teams. One of the problems in this form of team organization is the issue of leadership, and particularly the relationship between vertical leadership - one person, and horizontal leadership - team members. In the literature on the subject, we can find traces of many concepts in such a broad area as the issue of leadership. However, several selected concepts allow us to capture an emerging feature in self-organizing teams which is the taking over of leadership functions by team members. Shared leadership, where the leadership function comes from team members, not from one appointed leader. Distributed leadership is where leadership in the organization is taken over voluntarily by individuals. Balanced leadership, where the vertical leader enables team members to take over leadership functions depending on the situation. The selected concepts presented here allow for a better understanding and research of the nature and phenomenon of leadership in self-organizing teams.

Discovering good process models is essential for different process analysis tasks such as conformance checking and process improvements. Automated process discovery methods often overlook valuable domain knowledge. This knowledge, including insights from domain experts and detailed process documentation, remains largely untapped during process discovery. This paper leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) to integrate such knowledge directly into process discovery. We use rules derived from LLMs to guide model construction, ensuring alignment with both domain knowledge and actual process executions. By integrating LLMs, we create a bridge between process knowledge expressed in natural language and the discovery of robust process models, advancing process discovery methodologies significantly. To showcase the usability of our framework, we conducted a case study with the UWV employee insurance agency, demonstrating its practical benefits and effectiveness.

The promise of an internet-based 'sharing economy' stands corrected by the reality of a 'platform economy' under the control of a few central proprietary markets. With increasing awareness of the many downsides of these oligopolistic markets, regulatory policies like the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA) have been enacted, while in research and practice, the term 'decentralisation' gained renewed interest. However, as we argue in this problem statement, decentralisation is often confused as an aim, while in reality it encompasses many different (often opposing) drivers and principles to achieve certain aims. In order to stimulate discussion, we discuss decentralisation referencing a multi-disciplinary perspective and exemplary projects in practice. We ask how profitable and sustainable business models can be created in the age of platform economics. We claim that, to reap the many proclaimed benefits of platforms, while managing and preventing its many centralistic downsides, an approach integrating technical and organisational capabilities is needed. We see business Process Management (BPM) ideally positioned to be at the forefront of such a movement. With this contribution, we hope to stimulate discussion within the BPM community. Further, we see opportunity even beyond BPM. We draw comparisons to privacy engineering, which emerged as a discipline to operationalise the abstract notion of privacy.
