Impulse purchase is a prevalent consumer behaviour, and consumers' willingness to consume on impulse is even stronger in live e-commerce context. Based on the S-O-R model, the study explores the mechanism of the factors influencing consumer's impulse purchase intention in live e-commerce from five dimensions: price discounts and time limits of marketing stimuli, interaction, opinion leaders, atmospheric cues of contextual factors. Meanwhile, a structural equation model is constructed in combination with flow theory. Data were collected through questionnaires, and SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used to analyse the data of sample. It shows that price discounts, time limits, interaction, opinion leaders and atmospheric cues all positively associate with impulse purchase intentions, with the flow experience playing a mediating role in this process. The results suggest that platforms can design engaging atmospheric cues;operators can innovate live-streaming gameplay and optimise incentives;and consumers should spend rationally according to their actual needs. The study contributes to an understanding of S-O-R theory application in live e-commerce context, and enriches the research on the antecedent variables of impulsive purchase intention and its formation mechanism.

business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN) is a widely used standard workflow language for modeling business processes. However, there is a growing need to integrate data and process models to enable a more holistic view of business processes to reducing implementation time through a clear understanding of the mode, and BPMN has limitations in representing data-related concepts. To address this, we propose an extension to BPMN called DataFlow BPMN (DF-BPMN), which is a low-coding visual solution, for modeling and analyzing the relationship between process and data. Low-code is a growing development approach supported by many platforms. It fills the gap between business and developer. Indeed, it enables quick generation and delivery of business applications with minimum effort. We introduce the Activity DataFlow, an extension of activity that allows zooming into the data manipulated within it, which enable different levels of granularity: control-flow perspective and data perspective. Additionally, we developed a tool for creating a model with the DF-BPMN. Our approach has been evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively, and the results demonstrate that DF-BPMN offers significant advantages over BPMN.

Responsiveness is a key requirement for web-based enterprise software systems. To this end, throttling (or rate limiting) is often applied to block illegitimate traffic from outside-facing components and protect their computational resources. OAuth-based authorization servers are among the most popular components facing the web. Alas, the OAuth protocol introduces severe challenges to throttling. The OAuth protocol flow introduces indirections to client requests that make it hard to determine their source to apply rate limits. Moreover, fixed limits perform poorly in cases varying between high and low request loads. In this paper we propose solutions for both issues and provide an efficient solution for throttling in the context of OAuth. This includes integrated methods for a) cooperative throttling of authorization and resource servers as well as b) dynamic rate limiting as part of the throttling algorithm. We evaluate our approach based on a real-world use-case of enterprise CRM.

Conformance checking is a process mining technique that allows verifying the conformance of process instances to a given model. Thus, this technique is predestined to be used in the medical context for the comparison of treatment cases with clinical guidelines. However, medical processes are highly variable, highly dynamic, and complex. This makes the use of imperative conformance checking approaches in the medical domain difficult. Studies show that declarative approaches can better address these characteristics. However, none of the approaches has yet gained practical acceptance. Another challenge are alignments, which usually do not add any value from a medical point of view. For this reason, we investigate in a case study the usability of the HL7 standard Arden Syntax for declarative, rule-based conformance checking and the use of manually modeled alignments. Using the approach, it was possible to check the conformance of treatment cases and create medically meaningful alignments for large parts of a medical guideline.

In traditional business models, organisations typically work independently and have limited interactions with other entities in the network. In contrast, Digital business Ecosystems (DBE) foster collaboration, responsibility-taking, and resource sharing between multiple actors, enabling them to leverage their capabilities. Such characteristics require in return well-thought approaches for identification and design of the DBE components and tasks unified in an underlying digital environment. In this study, we address this challenge by proposing a modular model-based method for design of DBE that uses Situational Method Engineering as the underlying methodology and meta-models that describe the concepts and relationships on the modular level. We have illustrated some applications of the method and design task with existing enterprise architecture and enterprise modelling approaches.

In-depth analysis of customer journeys to broaden the understanding of customer behaviors and expectations in order to improve the customer experience is considered highly relevant in modern business practices. Recent studies predominantly focus on retrospective analysis of customer data, whereas more forward-directed concepts, namely predictions, are rarely addressed. Additionally, the integration of robotic process automation (RPA) to potentially increase the efficiency of customer journey analysis is not discussed in the current field of research. To fill this research gap, this paper introduces "customer journey mining". Process mining techniques are applied to leverage digital customer data for accurate prediction of customer movements through individual journeys, creating valuable insights for improving the customer experience. Striving for improved efficiency, the potential interplay of RPA and customer journey mining is examined accordingly. The researchmethodology followed is based on a design science research process. An initially defined customer journey mining artifact is operationalized through an illustrative case study. This operationalization is achieved by analyzing a log file of an online travel agency functioning as an orientation for researchers and practitioners while also evaluating the initially defined framework. The data is used to train seven distinct prediction models to forecast the touchpoint a customer is most likely to visit next. Gradient-boosted trees yield the highest prediction accuracy with 43.1%. The findings further indicate technical suitability for RPA implementation, while financial viability is unlikely.

In the dynamic business environment of today, BPM professionals must adapt to cutting-edge technologies, evolving methodologies, and rapidly changing market conditions. Consequently, educational programmes should be sufficiently adaptable to incorporate emerging trends and equip learners with the technical dexterity and process thinking required to effectively lead organisational digital transformation. This adaptability ensures the continued relevance of BPM education and produces graduates that are capable of driving innovation and organisational success. The goal of this study is to share the key features and report on the key lessons learned from our experiences conducting BPM education programmes for over two decades. We argue for the holistic and flexible nature of BPM education by explaining how a variety of learner-focused technical and managerial factors influence our BPM education framework. We underline the necessity for a well-balanced BPM curriculum that covers both technical topics like process mining and automation and managerial topics like process governance and process strategic alignment. We show how industry and students' needs may be balanced in the BPM curriculum to produce job-ready graduates. This study will contribute to the BPM education community's knowledge base by reporting on the critical dimensions of a programme design that encapsulate our shared experiences in delivering a holistic and flexible BPM curriculum to varied learners using different delivery channels. The details discussed will assist BPM experts in designing and delivering a comprehensive curriculum to tackle BPM programme design and its relevance to today's dynamic business environment.

Since IoT devices supporting business processes (BPs) in sectors like manufacturing, logistics or healthcare can collect data on the execution of the processes, there is a growing awareness of the opportunity to use IoT data for process mining (PM). However, several challenges need to be addressed to enable IoT-enhanced PM, among which the need for a standard IoT-enhanced event log model. In this paper, we identify four main challenges for the integration of IoT data in event logs, from which 10 requirements for an IoT-enhanced event log model are derived. We then analyse the two main current event log models, the extensible event stream (XES) and the object-centric event log (OCEL), and confront them with the requirements, showing that both present important limitations to storing IoT-enhanced event logs. Based on this analysis, we conclude that a comprehensive data model is required to develop more advanced IoT-enhanced PM techniques.

In this study, we aim to generalize the Nash equilibrium and efficiency established in conflict resolutions among decision-makers with permissibility in their preferences for possible outcomes on the framework of GMCR(Graph Model for Conflict Resolution). Obtaining sufficient information on preferences, especially in emergent crises, can often be daunting in real-world conflicts. However, identifying "unacceptable situations" is comparatively less challenging. Our proposed approach dichotomizes preferences into binary categories of "permissible" and "impermissible," exhibiting a particular aptness for decision-making in situations with limited or focused information that seek to prevent severe crises, particularly during the emergent phase or convergence point of conflicts. We provide propositions on the equilibrium and efficiency of permissibility analysis, introducing a novel approach using coarse decision theory. Overall, our study contributes significantly to improving the convenience and effectiveness of real-world conflict analysis.
