The study reported here examined the relationship between online consumers' perceived financial constraint and online new product purchase intention by focusing on the mediating effect of online consumers' risk-taking tendency and moderating effect of online consumers' online shopping impulsivity. Data from a survey of 209 students in three undergraduate classes and one professional master student class was used to conduct empirical study. Results found that the perceived financial constraint was negatively related to consumers' online new product purchase intention while risk-taking tendency mediated this relationship significantly. In additional, consumers' online shopping impulsivity was negatively moderating the relationship between online consumers' perceived financial constraint and risk-taking tendency. Moreover, consumers' online shopping impulsivity had a significant negative impact on perceived financial constraint. Finally, implications of the findings were discussed for preventing or reducing the perceived financial constraint from the perspective of online merchants and online consumers.

Compared with the traditional education environment, the new generation of information technology-enabled Educational Virtual Community (EVC) breaks the boundaries between learners and knowledge, transforming them from passive recipients of information to the main participants in the acquisition of knowledge. EVC not only empowers learners with the initiative to acquire, experience and share knowledge, but also provides learners with rich perceived value during the process, building an important carrier for learners to co-create value. Based on the theoretical framework of S-O-R (Stimulate-Organize-Response), this paper considers the interactions between learners and organizational characteristics, and innovatively constructs a technology acceptance model integrating TAM and VAM to explain learners' value co-creation intention in EVC. 357 valid samples were collected through an online questionnaire platform, which were analyzed and tested by structured equation modeling to clarify the influencing factors of user participation in value co-creation in EVC. The results of the study reveal the influence mechanism of EVC characteristics on learners' intention to participate in value co-creation on the theoretical level, enriching the study of the driving factors of learners' participation in EVC value co-creation;and provide corresponding references and suggestions for promoting and incentivizing learners to participate in value co-creation activities in EVC on the practical level, which provides managerial insights into high-quality development of EVC.

In this paper, we propose an architecture for a security-aware workflow management system (WfMS) we call SecFlow in answer to the recent developments of combining workflow management systems with Cloud environments and the still lacking abilities of such systems to ensure the security and privacy of cloud-based workflows. The SecFlow architecture focuses on full workflow life cycle coverage as, in addition to the existing approaches to design security-aware processes, there is a need to fill in the gap of maintaining security properties of workflows during their execution phase. To address this gap, we derive the requirements for such a security-aware WfMS and design a system architecture that meets these requirements. SecFlow integrates key functional components such as secure model construction, security-aware service selection, security violation detection, and adaptive response mechanisms while considering all potential malicious parties in multi-tenant and cloud-based WfMS.

Through non-financial reporting, such as CSRD, carbon footprint calculations are becoming mandatory in the software industry. The golden standard for reporting CO2 emissions is based on the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and its scopes 1, 2, and 3. However, as a producer of purely digital products, the software industry differs from traditional industries in its carbon footprint. The software industry value chain relies heavily on an infrastructure that can contribute most of its emissions. It has been recognized that there is a need for an industry-customized carbon emissions model that considers the software industry's peculiarities. The primary goal of this study is to define the main sources of climate impacts in the software industry and propose a model of the GHG Protocol adaptation to software companies. This research has been done in our Green ICT project and is based on interviews done in that project. The data for this research was collected from five software companies with different demographics and business models. The interviews, with a total amount of 14, were conducted between November 2022 andMarch 2023 during a service design process of an automated tool that facilitates green transition in software companies. The analysis of the interviews was supplemented with the results from four multistakeholder workshops conducted during the service design process, as well as with the analysis of a series of webinars around the topic. As a result of the study, the Software Company Scopes model for the primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the software company and its value chain was created, and the GHG Protocol was tailored to the needs of the software industry. Thus, considering its industry-specific peculiarities, we may conclude that the GHG Protocol can be applied to the software industry.

Against the background of China's "double carbon" target and environmental issues becoming important management matters, energy-intensive industries have received widespread attention as a major source of carbon emission pollutants;at the same time, China is carrying out a sustained and efficient anti-corruption campaign, and energy-intensive industries are mostly state-owned enterprises, and corruption has been a controversial issue. The issue of corruption in energy-intensive industries, which are mostly state-owned enterprises, has also been highly controversial. Faced with the dual dilemma of environmental and political pollution, is there an inevitable link between the anti-corruption campaign in China's energy-intensive industries and the level of carbon emissions? What is the mechanism of influence? To this end, we discuss the impact in this context using a fixed-effects model with panel data of energy-intensive industries from 2007 to 2016. The results show that the anti-corruption campaign significantly reduces the level of carbon emissions in the industry, while on the other hand, green innovation does not play a role in improving the phenomenon of excessive carbon emissions at the technological level.

The use of BCI and XR-BCI devices is yet to become more widespread among the general population. These devices could pose a significant risk to the users' privacy, as they enable the revelation of users' emotions, beliefs, and other potentially highly sensitive details. When this information is obtained, it is possible to both invade users' privacy as never before as well as monetize data very precisely through neuromarketing. This work presents a review of the privacy and monetization of BCI and XR-BCI. It was discovered that many companies collect a considerable amount of data without knowing or revealing the actual purpose of the collection. This data includes sensitive information about health. One of the future risks is that emotions and generic raw brain-wave data are leaked to advertisers through neuromarketing, which is considered a valuable asset for advertisers, e.g., to reveal a person's willingness to buy something. We urge the need to evaluate the current privacy policies and terms of service of BCIs and XR-BCIs against existing frameworks such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

business and technology are intricately connected through logic and design. They are equally sensitive to societal changes and may be devastated by scandal. Cooperative multi-robot systems (MRSs) are on the rise, allowing robots of different types and brands to work together in diverse contexts. Generative artificial intelligence has been a dominant topic in recent artificial intelligence (AI) discussions due to its capacity to mimic humans through the use of natural language and the production of media, including deep fakes. In this article, we focus specifically on the conversational aspects of generative AI, and hence use the term Conversational Generative artificial intelligence (CGI). Like MRSs, CGIs have enormous potential for revolutionizing processes across sectors and transforming the way humans conduct business. From a business perspective, cooperative MRSs alone, with potential conflicts of interest, privacy practices, and safety concerns, require ethical examination. MRSs empowered by CGIs demand multi-dimensional and sophisticated methods to uncover imminent ethical pitfalls. This study focuses on ethics in CGI-empowered MRSs while reporting the stages of developing the MORUL model.

Virtual simulation technology has become one of the indispensable technologies in the field of teaching. However, the application of virtual simulation experiments and the embedding of corresponding gamification elements do not always show the enhanced learning effect. In order to effectively guide the application of virtual simulation experiments, we combined the adaptive structure theory for individuals and self-determination theory, and through a controlled experiment of 2 (task complexity: high vs. low) x 2 (field cognitive styles: field independent vs. field dependent) + 1 (control group), we firstly verified the effectiveness of the application of the gamification virtual simulation system, and at the same time, focused on the factors of task characteristics and individual characteristics, to explore how these two constructs can influence students' learning satisfaction by affecting intrinsic motivation. Our findings suggest that gamification virtual simulation systems are more effective in enhancing students' learning experiences. And setting high-complexity tasks better reinforces intrinsic motivation (autonomy needs, competence needs, and relationship needs) fulfillment, which in turn effectively enhances learning satisfaction. Compared to students with field-dependent cognitive styles, students with field-independent cognitive styles were able to achieve higher learning satisfaction by obtaining higher competence needs and relationship needs in a gamification virtual simulation system, but therewas no significant difference between the two in terms of autonomy need.

In software engineering research, academia-industry collaboration is predominantly understood as partnerships between academic institutions and large companies. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are vital contributors to the industry, and they are numerous. Their unique preconditions and challenges differentiate their collaboration dynamics from larger corporations. We seek to identify guiding principles and practices for initiating collaborations between researchers and SMEs. Through a meta-synthesis approach drawn from two systematic literature reviews, we introduce a collaborative model canvas. This emphasizes the importance of SMEs' business contexts and the relationships between researchers and SMEs. Our research offers insights for those looking to collaborate with SMEs, considering potential challenges and limitations.

Despite the growing discussion and concern about the topic, gender diversity in the Exact Sciences and Technology still requires attention. It has been observed by several authors that gender diversity is not present in a significant way in development teams, despite the potential positive effects. Moreover, with the growing demand for software that meet complex business needs, the concept of Software Ecosystems (SECO) has emerged and opens opportunities for external developers and strategies for fostering gender diversity. A Proprietary Software Ecosystem (PSECO) is a type of SECO that comprises a common technological platform with contributions protected by intellectual property. This work aims to investigate which barriers women face in software development teams focusing on the context of PSECO and what strategies can be used to increase inclusion based on a multivocal literature review. To do so, 29 studies were selected and 13 gender barriers were identified, with the 3 most cited barriers being: sexism, lack of peer parity, and imposter syndrome. Furthermore, it was observed that external PSECO actors can significantly interfere in the occurrences of gender barriers, in addition to the internal actors of the central organization (keystone).
