As organizations grow and IS get bigger it is needed to create accurate and complicated analyzes for developing systems. This analyzes are base for design of business models and system architecture. Designers every day face new challenges when they need to collide and understand other designers' and analytics' made models. This process creates new problems and mistakes. Automatization of IS engineering process lets create better and more qualified models with less mistakes. The article is about MOF architecture's role in IS engineering process and about possibilities to improve MOF architecture's composition with new knowledge based layer. The main scope of the article is to analyze improved MOF architecture's usage in UML models generation with transformation algorithms from enterprise model process.

Organisations constantly seek to improve and fully exploit global production networks. This can be to provide more competitive solutions to customer requests, to exploit potential new technologies or to consider new business models based on the servitisation of products. To support such decisions requires the interchange and evaluation of information from a wide range of different and varied sources. This paper puts forward a reference ontology aimed at supporting businesses who seek to design, configure and reconfigure global production networks. The aim of this is to support interoperability between information systems within multi-domain contexts.

After years of focusing exclusively on the technological side of electric mobility (e-mobility), services are getting more and more in the focus of scientists. Many recent works concentrate on the identification and analysis of the potential of new business models in this field. Although the relevancy of services for the success of e-mobility is becoming more obvious among industry and science, there is still a lack in scientific contributions when asking for a comprehensive overview of existing e-mobility services. With this paper, we try to bridge this gap by providing a framework that enables the description and classification of services around the usage of an electric vehicle (EV). The framework captures six dimensions which allows to characterize and compare different services. This enables the identification of commonalities and differences between the services and provides an interdisciplinary playground for developing new services and further research in this field.

In business processes tasks are often executed by humans. Dynamic role resolution is the (run time) selection of the optimal resource to execute a task for a certain process instance based on conditions and requirements that are specified at design time. For this purpose a classification of resources is made, usually based on their organizational position (department, role). This is, however, a very simple way of modeling resources. In this position paper, we propose conceptual extensions to the current approach to role resolution that focus on a more detailed and extended characterization of resources, cases and process objectives in order to improve human and cognitive aspects of the system such as motivation, learning and training of employees.

Collective Adaptive Systems support the interaction and adaptation of virtual and physical entities towards achieving common objectives. For these systems, several challenges at the modeling, provisioning, and execution phases arise. In this position paper, we define the necessary underpinning concepts and identify requirements towards ensuring high availability in such systems. More specifically, based on a scenario from the EU Project ALLOW Ensembles, we identify the necessary requirements and derive an architectural approach that aims at ensuring high availability by combining active workflow replication, service selection, and dynamic compensation techniques.

Focusing on the relationship between behavioural and information perspectives in this paper we present an approach to support flexibility of business Processes. The approach extends Feature Model descriptions with data-objects in order to derive process fragments and process variants. The approach has been applied to a data-intensive scenario such as the reporting activity of EU projects with encouraging results.

A GeoSocial Network (GSN) is an online social network enhanced with built-in location services;it can associate user data and content with location coordinates. This content-location link is getting stronger, due to the swift development of fully location-based social networks, and to the fast expansion of the mobile technologies market. As the location information thus gathered generates a huge amount of publicly-available location data, one can perform location-based social discovery with millions of users around the planet. This may sound disturbing to some, since location information has always been considered private, or at least known only to friends or family. Hence, this raises a serious privacy threat. Is being tracked in real time, in most cases by strangers, or having location history disclosed to almost everyone, considered as a privacy invasion that needs to be addressed before all control is lost? In this paper, we look at issues related to GSN applications and explore several questions, such as "How much are we at risk?" and "Are existing location privacy-protection techniques adopted by GSNs sufficient to protect us efficiently?"

Large organizations today face a growing challenge of managing heterogeneous process collections containing business processes. Explicit semantics inherent to domain-specific models can help alleviate some of the management challenges. Starting with concept definitions, designers can create domain specific processes and eventually generate industry-standard BPMN for use in BPMS solutions. However, any of these artefacts (concepts, domain processes and BPMN) can be modified by various stakeholders and changes done by one person may influence models used by others. There is therefore a need for tool support to aid in keeping track of changes done and their impacts on different stakeholders. In this paper we present an approach towards providing such support based on a semantic layer that records the provenance of the information and accordingly propagates impacts of changes to related resources, and illustrate the applicability of the approach via an illustrative example.

Unprecedented low water levels and a perception of inaction after a five-year study of the International Upper Great Lakes led activists to stir up controversy. This paper analyzes this conflict just prior to the release of the International Joint Commission's report on April 15, 2013 and proposes resolutions towards cooperation and improved public perception.

business process design is an important activity for the planning and analysis of information systems that support the organization's business processes. Our goal is to help business analysts produce detailed models of the business processes that best reflect the needs of their organizations. To this end, we propose to, a) leverage the best practices in terms of a catalog of generic business processes, and b) provide analysts with tools to customize those processes by generating, on-demand, new process variants around automatically identified process variation points. We use business patterns from the Resource Event Agent ontology to identify variation points, and to codify the model transformations inherent in the generation of the process variants. We developed a prototype, showing the computational feasibility of the approach. Early feedback from a case study with three business Process Management (BPM) experts validated the relevance of the variation points, and the correctness of corresponding transformations, within the context of key Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes. In this paper, we summarize the approach and report of the results of a larger experiment, gaining insights into the strengths and weaknesses of our approach, and suggesting avenues for improvement.
