Process-aware information Systems support the enactment of business processes, and rely on a model that prescribes which executions are allowed. As a result, the model needs to be sound for the process to be carried out. Traditionally, soundness has been defined and studied by only focusing on the control-flow. Some works proposed techniques to repair the process model to ensure soundness, ignoring data and decision perspectives. This paper puts forward a technique to repair the data perspective of process models, keeping intact the control flow structure. Processes are modeled by acyclic Data Petri Nets. Our approach repairs the Constraint Graph, a finite symbolic abstraction of the infinite state-space of the underlying Data Petri Net. The changes in the Constraint Graph are then projected back onto the Data Petri Net.

This paper explores the connection between agile methods and digital customer experience, aiming to identify what are the hallmarks of a good agile way of working. The research is an exploratory case study consisting of interviews and analysis. In summary, the research suggests that the hallmarks of a good agile way of working are 1) breaking down tasks into sufficiently small pieces, 2) defining tasks precisely and releasing them to production evenly, 3) continuous improvement, and 4) good planning of sprints. These good agile operating methods can be seen in the development measures as a short lead time, a short time to export to production, low errors, and a high deployment frequency. According to the findings, these metrics are linked to the Net Promoter Score (NPS), a measure of customer experience. A team with sufficient technical capabilities team that utilizes agile operating methods is able to produce the desired things for customers at exactly the right time while constantly improving, so that the NPS is positive, and its direction is improving. On the other hand, the team's bad operatingmethods are also visible in the NPS meter - in this case, the NPS fluctuates strongly. Teams can obtain insightful supplementary data about their own practices by keeping track of development measures.

In the evolving field of Agile Project Management (APM), the role of the project manager is in transition. This paper identifies common 'pain points' in APM through a literature review and constructs a theoretical model to address them. The study introduces 'Prompt Engineering' as a novel approach to leverage artificial intelligence (AI), specifically ChatGPT, for mitigating these challenges. Empirical research evaluates ChatGPT's capabilities and reliability in managing various project tasks using engineered prompts. The findings suggest that while ChatGPT cannot fully replace human project managers, it excels in assisting, guiding, and automating specific tasks when guided by well-crafted prompts. As an outcome, prompt engineering patterns for project managers is proposed to facilitate the application of AI in agile settings. In this paper, we introduce patterns for requirements management, stakeholder and management teams and role clarification. The paper concludes that ChatGPT's knowledge is generally reliable but emphasizes the need for expert evaluation in critical areas.

Previous studies have used prescriptive process monitoring to find actionable policies in business processes and conducted case studies in similar domains, such as the loan application process and the traffic fine process. However, care processes tend to be more dynamic and complex. For example, at any stage of a care process, a multitude of actions is possible. In this paper, we follow the reinforcement approach and train a Markov decision process using event data from a care process. The goal was to find optimal policies for staff members when clients are displaying any type of aggressive behavior. We used the reinforcement learning algorithms Q-learning and SARSA to find optimal policies. Results showed that the policies derived from these algorithms are similar to the most frequent actions currently used but provide the staff members with a few more options in certain situations.

The emergence of quantum computing proposes a revolutionary paradigm that can radically transform numerous scientific and industrial application domains. The ability of quantum computers to scale computations imply better performance and efficiency for certain algorithmic tasks than current computers provide. However, to gain benefit from such improvement, quantum computers must be integrated with existing software systems, a process that is not straightforward. In this paper, we investigate the quantum computing ecosystem and the stake-holders involved in building larger hybrid classical-quantum systems. In addition, we discuss the challenges that are emerging at the horizon as the field of quantum computing becomes more mature.

Pricing is the pivotal aspect in the commercialization of data elements, serving as the fundamental mechanism of the data element market. In this study, we focus on the product data and aim to set reasonable prices for the product data trading in manufacturing enterprises. Specifically, we identify key factors such as production cost and market loss for the product data owner, R&D investment, market return, and equipment cost for demander, and develop a three-stage one-to-one bargaining pricing model between owners and demanders. Results indicate that, (1) the equilibrium price of product data is positively correlated with the owner's discount factor, market loss rate, and demander's market rate of return, and negatively associated with the demander's discount factor and equipment cost rate. (2) the owner's equilibrium return is positively correlated with the owner's discount factor and the demander's market rate of return, and negatively correlated with the owner's market rate of loss, the demander's discount factor, and the equipment cost rate. (3) the demander's equilibrium returns are positively associated with the demander's discount factor and market rate of return and inversely related to the owner's discount factor, market loss rate, and demander's equipment input cost rate. This study provides a novel perspective on trading strategy for product data in manufacturing enterprises and expands existing studies that mainly focused on pricing of domain data.

AI ethics has become a common topic of discussion in both media and academic research. Companies are also increasingly interested in AI ethics, although there are still various challenges associated with bringing AI ethics into practice. Especially from a business point of view, AI ethics remains largely unexplored. The lack of established processes and practices for implementing AI ethics is an issue in this regard as well, as resource estimation is challenging if the process is fuzzy. In this paper, we begin tackling this issue by providing initial insights into the cost of AI ethics. Building on existing literature on software quality cost estimation, we draw parallels between the past state of quality in Software Engineering (SE) and the current state of AI ethics. Empirical examples are then utilized to showcase some elements of the cost of implementing AI ethics. While this paper provides an initial look into the cost of AI ethics and useful insights from comparisons to software quality, the practice of implementing AI ethics remains nascent, and, thus, a better empirical understanding of AI ethics is required going forward.

Large language models (LLM) are considered by many researchers as promising technology for automating routine tasks. Results from applying LLM in engineering disciplines such as Enterprise Modeling also indicate potential for the support of modeling activities. LLMs are fine-tuned for specific tasks using chat based interaction through the use of prompts. This paper aims at a detailed investigation of the potential of LLMs in Enterprise Modeling (EM) by taking the perspective of EM method adaptation of selected parts of the modeling process within the context of using prompts to interrogate the LLM. The research question addressed is: What adaptations in EM methods have to be made to exploit the potential of prompt based interaction with LLMs? The main contributions are (1) a meta-model for prompt engineering that integrates the concepts of the modeling domain under consideration with the notation of the modeling language applied and the input and output of prompts, (2) an investigation into the general potential of LLM in EM methods and its application in the 4EM method, and (3) implications for enterprise modeling methods.

The study reported here examined the relationship between online consumers' perceived financial constraint and online new product purchase intention by focusing on the mediating effect of online consumers' risk-taking tendency and moderating effect of online consumers' online shopping impulsivity. Data from a survey of 209 students in three undergraduate classes and one professional master student class was used to conduct empirical study. Results found that the perceived financial constraint was negatively related to consumers' online new product purchase intention while risk-taking tendency mediated this relationship significantly. In additional, consumers' online shopping impulsivity was negatively moderating the relationship between online consumers' perceived financial constraint and risk-taking tendency. Moreover, consumers' online shopping impulsivity had a significant negative impact on perceived financial constraint. Finally, implications of the findings were discussed for preventing or reducing the perceived financial constraint from the perspective of online merchants and online consumers.

Compared with the traditional education environment, the new generation of information technology-enabled Educational Virtual Community (EVC) breaks the boundaries between learners and knowledge, transforming them from passive recipients of information to the main participants in the acquisition of knowledge. EVC not only empowers learners with the initiative to acquire, experience and share knowledge, but also provides learners with rich perceived value during the process, building an important carrier for learners to co-create value. Based on the theoretical framework of S-O-R (Stimulate-Organize-Response), this paper considers the interactions between learners and organizational characteristics, and innovatively constructs a technology acceptance model integrating TAM and VAM to explain learners' value co-creation intention in EVC. 357 valid samples were collected through an online questionnaire platform, which were analyzed and tested by structured equation modeling to clarify the influencing factors of user participation in value co-creation in EVC. The results of the study reveal the influence mechanism of EVC characteristics on learners' intention to participate in value co-creation on the theoretical level, enriching the study of the driving factors of learners' participation in EVC value co-creation;and provide corresponding references and suggestions for promoting and incentivizing learners to participate in value co-creation activities in EVC on the practical level, which provides managerial insights into high-quality development of EVC.
