Understanding the game relationships and behaviors of stakeholders is crucial for effectively promoting the management of recyclable resources. Aiming at the problems existing in the stakeholder game models in recyclable resource management, this study proposed a novel multi-phase stakeholder game framework for the recyclable resource management system, which fully takes into account stakeholders at all levels in the life cycle of recyclable resource management. In order to concretely analyze the game framework, cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses of the game relationships among and within stakeholder groups were conducted. By providing a more comprehensive understanding and explanation of stakeholder game relationships and behaviors in recyclable resource management, the proposed game framework could better guide the overall and various levels of recyclable resource management practices.

Increasing digitization and automation are currently bringing a revolution to many processes and sectors of the economy. The industry of production in particular is undergoing a fundamental transformation through the implementation of digital and networked system elements. In production control, traditionally based on established methods and experience, advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence are opening up entirely new options. Artificial intelligence's ability to analyze large amounts of data in real time and make instant decisions from it brings fresh perspectives to production control. Until now, there have been only a few surveys that examine the current status as well as future requirements for production control. Our research focuses on the current state of IT systems used to support decision-makers in production control. It also sheds light on the requirements needed to improve these systems, especially in light of advancing technological developments and increasing digitalization. The article is dedicated to the results and provides an overview of future expectations.

Contemporary social-ecological systems (SESs) research that supports policy and decision-making to tackle sustainability issues requires interdisciplinary and often multistakeholder synergy. Various frameworks have been developed to describe and understand SESs, each producing different kinds of data and knowledge. The resultant lack of interoperability spurred our development of an ontologically grounded SESs integrated conceptual model. This paper explores the deployment of that model and describes techniques for ontology-based interaction design to clarify notions, align perspectives, negotiate terminologies and semantics in inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration settings. We offer examples of interaction scripts that utilise ontologies, discursive artefacts, game and play methods, and report on an exploratory workshop playtest which provided preliminary evidence of the potentials for ontology-based participatory sense-making for knowledge co-production.

Analytics is becoming known for providing exceptional opportunities to companies. However, companies are not utilizing its full potential despite the widespread benefits. In particular, analytics practices are imperceptible when we talk about small yet innovative companies like software startups. Nevertheless, startups' uncertain nature and focus on innovation make them promising candidates to increase the odds of success using analytics. In this paper, we investigate the key practices applied by software startups while conducting analytics. We address our research question through a multiple case study performed with three startup companies at distinct startup stages. Thematic data analysis led us to observe nine analytics practices applied by these startups. The identified analytics practices span a spectrum of activities characterized by the analytics framework. Our findings provide insights for software startup companies to introduce or enhance analytics in their specialized context.

Uncertainty, information asymmetry and inappropriate risk sharing negatively influence the delivery of construction projects and are primary causes of claims, disputes and mistrust between the contracting parties. The presence of uncertainty in subsurface soil conditions is the main challenge in construction of underground works. It leads to information asymmetry and opportunistic behavior by the contractor for acquiring additional benefits. The International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) has introduced a Geotechnical Baseline Report (GBR) for underground works based on the principle of balanced risk sharing which may reduce the uncertainty in soil conditions. In this paper, principle-agent theory is used to understand the relationship of Employer (principle) and the Contractor (agent) and impact of uncertainty and information asymmetry on project delivery. Case study of an under-construction hydropower project by government organization is carried out to evaluate the contractor's opportunistic behavior for acquiring higher profits. It is concluded that uncertainty in soil conditions and asymmetric information led to the contractor's possible opportunistic behaviors.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has witnessed significant growth, becoming widely adopted in practice. This surge in the use of RPA technology has given rise to new challenges, particularly concerning the effective control and monitoring of software robots. Ideally, academia and industry would work together on developing new RPA capabilities, but both domains operate rather separately. In this paper, we employ an explorative approach to examine how academic theories can improve industrial RPA practices and vice versa. By analyzing both academic literature and leading RPA platforms, we present four recommendations for academia, four for industry, and a general recommendation aiming to advance the collaboration between them.

The number of software startups in Namibia has increased over the last decade, although most of them do not survive for long in the industry. For software startups to thrive, a suitable ecosystem is required to support them as the sustainability of startups is determined by the actions and interactions of the ecosystem actors. We aimed to gain a better understanding of the current software startup ecosystem in Namibia, emphasizing how the startup is connected to and supported by other actors in the ecosystem. Understanding the ecosystem will assist in informing future support needed by software startups to increase their sustainability and the growth of the ecosystem. An online questionnaire was employed to collect data from participants from software startups, as well as institutions that support software startups and entrepreneurs in Namibia. The results show that the Namibian software startup ecosystem is still in its early development stages and offers limited assistance for startups to grow. Access to finance is a challenge for startups, as most of the startups are founded and supported by personal funds, and few are funded by investors and Venture Capital funds and receive little to no financial support from the government. The universities play a role in supporting software startups through software development and entrepreneurial education, and training. Incubators and accelerators, although not a lot in the ecosystem, offer software entrepreneurs mentorship and a supportive environment to grow their businesses. The startups require more funding, access to resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities from other ecosystem actors.

Conformance-checking techniques reveal the deviations between event data and the desired process specification, which can be expressed as a process model or a set of rules. State-of-the-art approaches assume a single case identifier, i.e., each case in the business process is associated with only one object. In contrast, processes in real life usually involve multiple object types. For instance, an order management process involves object types such as orders, items, and packages. These objects interact with one another, e.g., packing multiple items from the inventory to create a package. Existing techniques may provide misleading insights when applied to such object-centric event data. We address the issue by extracting process executions (cases) from the object-centric event log and representing constraints using Object-Centric Constraint Models (OCCMs). In this way, we handle cardinality, temporal, and performance constraints. Compared to procedural languages like Petri nets, the declarative nature of OCCMs provides more flexibility in modeling constraints, and constraint checking delivers more comprehensive diagnostics that go beyond isolated cases. The proposed method has been implemented as a ProM plug-in that supports the extraction of process executions, user-defined OCCMs, and constraint-checking. The feasibility of the proposed approach has been evaluated with other state-of-the-art approaches.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a coherent set of principles, methods, and models that express the structure and behavior of an enterprise and its IT landscape. EA mining uses data mining techniques to automate EA models' extraction. Ontologies help to define concepts and the relationships among these concepts to describe a domain of interest. This paper presents an extensible ontology for EA mining to extract models using Application Program Interface (API) log files as the data source. The ontology development follows the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability) and uses OntoUML 2.0 language to ensure its expressiveness and readability. To validate its theoretical feasibility and contribution to EA modeling, it presents a simulation of the ontology application through a controlled scenario using data structures similar to an industrial case. Then, the ontology is verified and validated, checking quality ontology criteria using specialized tools for syntactic and semantic model checking, which also aids in avoiding ontology anti-patterns.

The production of automotive wire harnesses now requires a significant amount of manual labor. Even so, a greater level of automation is required due to present and future application demands such as the miniaturization of electronic components, the monitoring of process parameters, the growing need for paperwork for processes, and the rise in payments. Technology helps manufacturing organizations in the most important aspects of the design-to-manufacturing process. This is relevant to the wire harness sector, which is a crucial part of industrial automotive manufacturing. The automotive wiring harness suppliers designed Computer-Aided Design technologies (CAD) to support wire harness assembly operations and design work. Even with the application of these techniques, engineers will still have to do trial-and-error-work to find effective assembly techniques. This study presents a new approach to optimize the wire harness assembly procedures without focusing on trial and error or the experience of experienced engineers to develop operational assembly processes. The most crucial and challenging step in the assembly process sequence is taping routed cables. The taping process's complexity is mostly determined by how the jig is set up on the workstation and the tape method. As a result, the suggested technique models and optimizes the tape direction and jig arrangement.
