The accumulation of wealth and assets through inheritance forms the basis for future generations' prosperity, encompassing financial assets, physical possessions, and intangible riches like knowledge and skills. However, inheriting such multidimensional wealth presents complex technological, social, and legal challenges. To address these issues, the authors present a comprehensive exploration of technology-driven inheritance methods and the role of blockchain in asset management. Current research in this area is fragmented, lacking a unified conceptual framework, making it challenging to grasp the broader implications of blockchain in inheritance. This study aims to fill this gap by taking an exploratory approach to investigate the integration of blockchain and digital asset ownership and transfer in the context of Succession and Inheritance. The authors provide a conceptual framework to guide all stakeholders involved in the inheritance process. The study seeks to bridge existing knowledge gaps and offer a cohesive perspective on how blockchain technology can revolutionize inheritance practices through a combination of case studies, theoretical research, and practical implementation insights. The article is structured into four sections: an introductory section providing background context, an extensive review of relevant literature, including key principles and practical examples, an innovative conceptual framework, and a thorough analysis and synthesis of the research findings.

Bridging rule-based Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems with GenerativeArtificial Intelligence (GenAI) presents a novel approach towards overcoming persistent SCM challenges. This study introduces a novel approach that integrates GenAI with the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) Model, a widely accepted quasi-ontology in SCM, through Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Utilizing Google's Vertex AI Search as an implementation case in an educational context, we demonstrate the practical application of resulting generative SCM (GenSCM), which seeks to combine the advantages of both symbolic and sub-symbolic AI. Our study contributes to the literature by outlining an approachable pathway for integrating GenAI in SCM, and it provides insights on a domain-specific integration of symbolic and sub-symbolic AI. While the findings illustrate the potential of GenSCM in education, future research is needed on superior SCM problem-solving and operational execution in real-life SCM settings.

This paper presents an application of the graph model for conflict resolution aligned with the technique of option prioritizing in a conflict focused on the environmental context in Brazil. For the development of this study, two decision makers were considered, the fisherman and the government, with a total of four possible options to be taken by them. Moreover, for the fisherman, two different personality profiles (responsible and irresponsible) were considered in the conflict analysis. Particularly, this conflict portrays the issue of preservation of native species of aquatic environments during their reproductive period. In Brazil, this period is popularly known as the Piracema period, when the fisherman is supported by the public policy of the Unemployment Insurance for the Artisanal Fisherman. From the conflict analysis, some equilibrium states are suggested which highlight the importance of the intensification of inspection actions by the government.

With the increasing expansion and influence of technological innovations and breakthroughs, and as the world embarks into more digitization, automation, and man-machine integration, it becomes more vital than ever for businesses to identify and address any negative implications and drawbacks this advancement might have on the human factor in terms of people's acceptance and implementation of such innovations. One key theory that addresses this matter is the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (UTAUT) which identifies and correlates variables that govern people's willingness and readiness to foster new technology. Furthermore, a major influencing factor of people's drives and attitudes in organizations is the leadership style and approach. Along those lines, the purpose of this research paper is to propose a conceptual framework to explore and study the role of Transformational and Adaptive leadership styles on the adoption of new technologies and innovations in organizations within the scope and frame of the UTAUT. The study follows a systematic literature synthesis methodology to gather and analyze information from multiple sources and provide a comprehensive overview of existing research on the topic, based on which an explanatory and guiding framework is proposed for enhancing people's successful adoption of new technologies. Limitations to be highlighted are that the study bases its findings and analysis on previous research, and does not conduct primary research and data collection, no empirical findings are thus generated and presented to support or disprove the raised propositions. The study also addresses the topic conceptually and in general terms with no specific context, site, or sampling demographics, which are all influential factors that can alter findings. The paper however highlights the importance of sound and proactive leadership in enhancing organizational learning initiatives, innovation, and openness to technological and digital

Choosing courses at the beginning of each semester is a complex decision that affects students' future careers and academic performance, especially when given the freedom to choose. Among other factors, the expected grade at the end of the semester and/or the expected ability to successfully complete a course plays an important role in course selection. This paper introduces a prototype for predicting student performance using state-of-the-art natural language processing techniques. The prototype, designed to assist students in course selection, uses historical course enrollment data and current course descriptions to predict possible grades and warn students of possible negative performance. A large language model, BERT, was used to analyse text and create course description embeddings. For this purpose, descriptions of courses a student has attended were considered and formed the basis for the student knowledge profile. In addition, student performance profiles are created by examining grades from the historical enrolment data. This two-pronged analysis is used to identify patterns that lead to negative study results. Although the idea of creating knowledge profiles based on course descriptions is promising, the evaluation showed room for improvement in terms of accuracy and recall.

Despite the concerns that recent developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) have raised, they undoubtedly revealed a novel potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms in educational environments. Whether they are used for tutoring, in a manner similar to that of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS), or to support assessment design and delivery, their impact in a learning setting is remarkable. In this paper, we propose an interactive tutoring approach, utilizing ChatGPT's API. By exploiting ChatGPT's programming interface, we can develop customized interactive problem-solving and tutoring sessions on specific topics of interest. The API's versatility allows for dynamic interactions, fostering a deeper understanding of subjects taught and effective problem-solving skills. We demonstrate the application of the developed code in an applied educational setting with specific use cases.

AI-augmented business Process Management Systems (ABPMSs) are an emerging class of process-aware information systems empowered by AI technology for autonomously unfolding and adapting the execution flow of business processes (BPs). A central characteristic of an ABPMS is the ability to be conversationally actionable, i.e., to proactively interact with human users about BP-related actions, goals, and intentions. While today's trend is to support BP automation using reactive conversational agents, an ABPMS is required to create dynamic conversations that not only respond to user queries but even initiate conversations with users to inform them of the BP progression and make recommendations to improve BP performance. In this paper, we explore the extent to which state-of-the-art conversational systems (CSs) can be used to develop such proactive conversation features, and we discuss the research challenges and opportunities within this area.

A cost estimation method for launch vehicles is proposed combining the concepts of machine learning, aims to provide assistance in strategic decision-making processes pertaining to satellite launch activities. First, the characteristics of existing methods for estimating the cost of launch vehicles are analyzed, and draws out the machine learning methods based on the characteristics of the current development of launch vehicles in China. Next, a model algorithm based on a dynamic neural network and grey relational analysis is introduced. This algorithm simplifies the network structure by iteratively eliminating low correlation coefficient nodes, effectively addressing the issue of overfitting in small sample data. Finally, the proposed method is validated through a case study about prediction of the Long March series launch vehicle, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness.

Potential economic benefits of data sharing have been estimated and described in many reports and research. However, data sharing initiatives are limited by a lack of alignment on the business models for data sharing among stakeholders. In this research we aim specifically to investigate the perceptions of the stakeholders of such data sharing platforms on business models for data sharing to identify ways to foster alignment on business models. In our qualitative exploratory analysis (interviews and focus groups with stakeholders involved in a EU-funded project, MobiDataLab) we identify 6 criteria used by the stakeholders to compare business models and rank 5 archetypal business models according to them. We conclude with insights useful for business model design for mobility data sharing platforms and possible future research.

Organizations manage numerous business processes to deliver their products and services to customers effectively while adhering to laws, industry standards, or guidelines, summarized here as regulations. Compliance checking involves verifying whether these processes align with the relevant regulations. There has been an increase in the availability of process execution data within IT systems that support these business processes. One valuable operation of process mining - conformance checking - enables a comparison between the actual execution behaviour, represented as event logs, and the desired behaviour outlined in a process model. As a result, conformance checking can be employed for run-time compliance checking, a concept that has been explored and enhanced through various research studies. This work presents a systematic literature review on regulatory compliance checking with conformance checking that offers insights into different domains, the operationalization of regulations, applied conformance checking techniques, and visualizations. Our analysis reveals that several steps are still performed manually, but we anticipate that future advancements in automation can significantly support the goals of run-time compliance checking.
