Open data can lead to more efficient and effective decision-making processes in both the public and private sectors. By making data available, users can better analyse trends, identify inefficiencies, and optimize resource allocation. Consequently, open data assessment plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, integrity, accessibility, and impact of open data initiatives. It supports informed decision-making, promotes data-driven innovation, and enhances trust and accountability in data ecosystems. This paper applies the method of systematic review for identifying, extracting and analysing the principal methodologies for open data assessment. The most mature proposals have been selected and compared by using a formal framework, extracting the key requirements that an integrated and unified open data assessment framework should have, and providing the first steps towards its definition. Four methodologies were identified from a systematic review of literature. The comparison results critically identify and synthesize the research in open data assessment area. The paper concludes with suggestions on how to improve assessment practice and recommendations for future research.

Agile and technical debt management should have a symbiotic relationship, as technical debt was conceived as a metaphor (or tool) to balance the benefits of taking shortcuts for early release and user feedback with the responsibility of 'repairing' the effects of these trade-offs. Agile processes provide the necessary flexibility to achieve this balance. However, in reality, feature greed often takes over, making it difficult for development teams to ensure that technical debt is repaid. This paper discusses experiences and best practices to address Technical Debt in an Agile context.

Cloud computing is cementing its presence in IT strategies and CIOs' priorities across industries. Companies have been heavily adopting different cloud services and integrating them into their IT portfolios. Meanwhile, research has been striving to understand, articulate, and explore the cloud ecosystem. Using 13 expert interviews and 3 case studies, and while applying transaction costs theories, this research contributes to the explicitness of cloud computing. This paper introduces a new concept, that should be added to existing cloud computing ontologies: Meta-Services. The paper provides a working definition for cloud Meta-Services and explains their inter-relationships with other cloud services and available ontologies. It also discusses four examples of Meta-Services that emerge during the cloud adoption journey. This discussion and conceptualization of MetaServices will help cloud customers make more informed decisions about their entire cloud adoption journey. It will also help cloud providers make more realistic promises to their customers.

There is a rapid emergence of tools, methods, and guidance for the use of AI across all parts of the software development process, from requirements gathering to code generation to testing and user feedback. However, AI raises many concerns regarding responsible use, and there is a need to understand and develop principles for what responsible software development entails in practice in an agile context, as well as carefully evaluate the incorporation of AI tools and methods in software engineering. We draw on experience from Bespot, Knowit, Schibsted, and Spotify to identify challenges faced by companies pioneering the use of AI in their software development efforts and start charting a roadmap for responsible AI in software engineering.

Open data ecosystems are complex socio-technical systems. Various research studies analyze the components, actors, roles, and their relations in order to provide a better understanding of the ecosystem and the value it creates. Even though the previous studies identify the basic elements of the open data ecosystems, there is a research gap towards their connection with the infrastructural elements that support their inclusion and well-functioning in the ecosystem. The current study addresses this gap by applying a systematic literature review to identify the actors and their roles, as well as how these roles are connected to the open data infrastructural elements. As a result, a conceptual model of this analysis has been created.

This study investigates the impact of constant feedback in enhancing hybrid scrum team performance from a case study conducted with 24 undergraduate students organized in three teams. This research uses self-perceived performance surveys to identify factors that affect team performance. The objective is to enhance team performance by providing timely feedback for reflection and improvement based on identified challenges. Preliminary findings revealed that constant feedback, facilitated by self-perceived performance surveys after each sprint cycle, enables teams to address identified challenges and enhance performance progressively. This highlights the significance of timely feedback in enhancing team performance and productivity. Future work involves leveraging AI tools to analyze communication data collected throughout the study to understand well-being factors and their influence on a team's performance and productivity.

This paper discusses the integration of assets in a federated ecosystem in alignment with the Gaia-X framework, with a focus on semantics and Access Control Mechanisms (ACMs). The Gaia-X project, intended to support data and service ecosystems, aids data integration and valorisation in public and industrial settings, promoting data exchange among diverse stakeholders. However, its scope does not extend beyond delineating the service access point or providing a unified semantic description for the operation of the service or data. Additionally, it doesn't provide clear guidance on ACMs. Our proposed solution uses the V-Model methodology for a systematic progression from use case conception to implementation, coupling high-level ecosystem frameworks with existing decentralized semantically described resources. This approach enhances usability, lowers entry barriers, and facilitates operationalisation within the ecosystem, while enabling precise access control.

The world happens to be in an era where it has predominantly shifted to a technological domain. The shift from a traditional approach into a world dominated by technology, particularly in the aftermath of the global pandemic, had a profound effect on numerous dimensions of life, notably in academia. To prepare learners for anticipated technological breakthroughs, it is important to expose them to interactive educational settings and methodologies that will provide them with an in-depth learning experience. This research aims to enhance experiential learning of project management methodologies using immersive learning environments using VR, AR, and MR, to prepare future project managers for change in the future. More specifically, findings from this research will help in the development of a VR/AR-enabled learning software, where learners can learn PM methodologies of choice individually, and apply the knowledge gained in a group setting, to enhance their understanding of project management concepts. Furthermore, to determine the adoption of this technology, a quantitative survey will be carried out with about 200 participants, where questions relating to the UTAUT model will be asked to determine the factors that will influence adoption.

Leadership has been considered from every angle (almost) and the efforts are going strong. New ideas, books and trends, fads are popping out frequently. It's not a secret that leadership in Agile is a fundament, started looking from attitude and roles up to practice at every level of the organization. Leadership in Agile Teams is still under dispute. It is time to embrace shared leadership, a very helpful concept in describing an emergent team phenomenon whereby leadership roles and influence are distributed among team members. This approach has surprising support in studies about team performance, well-established history, and even anecdotal evidence from practitioners. This very short paper presents results from the initial research of the author using SNA method.

Addressing the lack of knowledge on sustainability and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) is essential for global development. Emerging technologies hold immense potential for educating and training in SDGs. This paper presents a pilot project in higher education applying the Design Thinking Methodology to design a novel Virtual Reality (VR) training solution to raise awareness about sustainability and the UN-SDGs through handson experiential training. The paper presents the design journey for designing the VR environment prototype focusing on three SDGs advancing through five phases (Research and Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test). Preliminary results highlight the urgent need for immersive educational resources on sustainability and the SDGs, with VR-based training showing promising potential. Low-fidelity 2D and 3D prototypes presented as the first step of designing and developing a VR-based training solution on three selected SDGs demonstrate the opportunities of adopting VR for promoting UN-SDGs. Creating such an innovative VR training tool will advance theoretical and practical realms enhancing understanding of the 17 SDGs through immersive experiences.
