In this paper we analyze how preferences are defined by negotiators in electronic negotiations if a SAW-based negotiation offer scoring system is used. We analyze a dataset of the Inspire electronic negotiation system, containing the transcripts of bilateral negotiation experiments and study how the negotiators use the preferential information provided in the case description and map it into a system of issues and options ratings in the discrete negotiation problem. We measure the accuracy of the preference systems by comparing the user-defined scoring systems with the reference ideal ones that stem directly from precise initial graphical information. Two notions of accuracy are used: (1) ordinal accuracy which measures if the negotiators followed the ranking order only;and (2) cardinal accuracy, defined by means of an original formula that takes into account weighted normalized distances between the negotiator's own system and the reference scoring one.

This paper investigates the application of new technologies in the sport field. Technology, mainly information technology (IT) and internet, is deeply changing the overall picture of the sport sector. New technologies facilitate the knowledge transfer in the sporting event management process, such as the Olympic Games;at the same time, the innovative techniques can significantly affect the athletes' performance and the social integration of disabled persons. There is an explosion of technology applications in the sport field in different sub-organizational areas, but this phenomenon is still underrepresented in the literature. This paper aims to identify and evidence the main application areas and challenges faced by technology in the sport setting. This study, through a review of the literature, represents a research starting point that allows us to systematize and clarify the main contributions on this topic and to identify new research perspectives.

Devising new service ideas for information systems by deploying user-involvement approaches is a challenging task. The power of collective creation by involving users in designing systems has attracted attention;however, stakeholders with no design training face critical challenges in generating ideas. In this paper, by exemplifying our user-involvement method with game elements, ICT Service Design Game, in comparison with conventional brainstorming, we show the impact of constraints and rules in user-involvement methods when creating service concepts and specifications for information systems. The analysis is based on a comparative experiment on two design methods and shows that the constraints and rules of our game approach fostered innovative idea generation in spite of participants' limited knowledge of and experience with design processes. Although our analysis is still in a preliminary stage, it indicates some positive impact of constraints and rules in design methods, especially when the methods are used by non-design professionals.

As IT functions of clients are often outsourced to multiple vendors, all partners have to take the multisourcing arrangement into account when providing services. This paper examines how a client establishes strategic collaboration within a multisourcing arrangement. Due to heterogeneous, but also overlapping resources and heterogeneous strategic interests, collaboration between partners is challenging as they have to develop and manage IT services on an operational level at the same time. Social Exchange Theory is used to understand the complexity of collaboration within a multisourcing arrangement. Dependent on the client's multisourcing objectives for its vendors collaboration tensions become apparent. Our research reveals that when client and vendors pay more attention to creating common goals, mutual collaboration between the partners' employees is increased. This results in an improvement of the operational performance of the IT services. On an individual level, it was found that the behaviour of individuals may compensate for the lack of collaboration and the lack of exchange of information between partners. Furthermore the research suggests that partners within a multisourcing arrangement have to anticipate exogenous developments and adapt in order to be resilient.

The article deals with Big Data (BD), which is big not only by its volume, but also by velocity or variety - as the combined effect of specific characteristics, create different "portraits" of BD in various domains challenging value extraction from data. Big Data value chain means that the enterprises have to raise skills for dealing with data in all stages of its life cycle: starting from recognizing need to register and store data items, moving forward to their appropriate representation and visualization, processing data with the help of best-fit algorithms, applying methods in order to get insights, finding valuable decisions in uncertain situations, and elaborating tools for control of effectiveness of BD value chain processes. We will follow all the entirety of the processes used for BD monitoring along its value chain and optimize them for extracting highest possible value. The goal of paper is to describe innovative solutions in domain driven process optimization and monitoring along BD value chain. We analyse the specific characteristics of BD by suggested BD portrait concept, its impact for BD analysis along entire value chain, and transferring research results to other research domains. The presented case-study highlights the problems of practical big data value chain implementation.

Delivering value to customers in real-time requires companies to utilize real-time deployment of software to expose features to users faster, and to shorten the feedback loop. This allows for faster reaction and helps to ensure that the development is focused on features providing real value. Continuous delivery is a development practice where the software functionality is deployed continuously to customer environment. Although this practice has been established in some domains such as B2C mobile software, the B2B domain imposes specific challenges. This article presents a case study that is conducted in a medium-sized software company operating in the B2B domain. The objective of this study is to analyze the challenges and benefits of continuous delivery in this domain. The results suggest that technical challenges are only one part of the challenges a company encounters in this transition. The company must also address challenges related to the customer and procedures. The core challenges are caused by having multiple customers with diverse environments and unique properties, whose business depends on the software product. Some customers require to perform manual acceptance testing, while some are reluctant towards new versions. By utilizing continuous delivery, it is possible for the case company to shorten the feedback cycles, increase the reliability of new versions, and reduce the amount of resources required for deploying and testing new releases.

Formal modeling rules can be used to ensure that an enterprise architecture is correct. Despite their apparent utility and despite mature tool support, formal modelling rules are rarely, if ever, used in practice in enterprise architecture in industry. In this paper we propose a rule authoring method that we believe aligns with actual modelling practice, at least as witnessed in enterprise architecture projects at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. The proposed method follows the business rules approach: the rules are specified in a (controlled) natural language which makes them accessible to all stakeholders and easy to modify as the meta-model matures and evolves over time. The method was put to test during 2014 in two large scale enterprise architecture projects, and we report on the experiences from that. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time extensive formal modelling rules for enterprise architecture has been tested in industry and reported in the literature.

Over the last years, personal mobility has become both more prominent and more diverse. Because of the complex structure of today's transport networks, an electronic guidance is effectively required. Usually different transport modalities and service providers offer their own mobile application to which the traveler has to adapt after changing between services. Additionally a current trend in mobile applications is the customization of GUI elements which leads to appealing looks but usually also to cluttered presentation of information. Both these problems cause a high cognitive stress on the traveler using the mobile application, especially while conducting other activities at the same time. Our approach to mitigate these issues is to create a mobile application applying the principle Cascading information Theory to simplify the usage. A prototype of the application was evaluated in an user test for comparing our approach to the most popular mobile travel application in Germany.

An underlying assumption in the literature on inter-firm contracting has been that relational governance is better than formal controls at mitigating contractual hazards. If formal controls are at best inadequate and at worst useless, then it are hard to reconcile the practical observation that most firms continue to write detailed contracts that include a rich set of formal controls. Formal controls weaken under two conditions: first, conventional, accounting-based performance measures are not effective when uncertainty is high. Second, as parties accumulate contracting experience "specialized language develops" enabling less expensive options than formal ones. We therefore question the logic that formal controls can only be useful if they strengthen relational governance. In this paper, we posit that noisy performance measurement problem continues to exist in relational contracting as well as in formal contracting. And the purpose of such contractual controls therefore lies in mediating experience and contract design.

We investigate group manipulation by vote exchange in two-tiers elections, where voters are first distributed into districts, each with one delegate. Delegates' preferences result from aggregating voters' preferences district-wise by means of some aggregation rule. Final outcomes are sets of alternatives obtained by applying a social choice function to delegate profiles. An aggregation rule together with a social choice function define a constitution. Voters' preferences over alternatives are extended to partial orders over sets by means of either the Kelly or the Fishburn extension rule. A constitution is Kelly (resp. Fishburn) swapping-proof if no group of voters can get by exchanging their preferences a jointly preferred outcome according to the Kelly (resp. Fishburn) extension. We establish sufficient conditions for swapping-proofness. We characterize Kelly and Fishburn swapping-proofness for Condorcet constitutions, where both the aggregation rule and the social choice function are based on simple majority voting.
