Determining the principles for building an intelligent management system aimed at making optimal decisions becomes an urgent need to achieve sustainable development of cooperating enterprises and requires the search for appropriate management models based on data dynamics. The purpose of the work was to indicate the determinants of sustainable development of collaborating enterprises used to determine the management model. The application of systems analysis and multi-agent simulation principles to human-system interactions has indicated a way to construct the data-driven decision making reinforcement learning model. The results obtained indicate that such management eliminates subjectivity in decision-making, leading to the stabilization of the economic development of cooperating enterprises, and hence to sustainable development.

With the increasing use of eye tracking and qualitative measures to evaluate user experience of digital websites combined with a need to retain user interest in an age of chatbots, we present a re-examination of a study comparing the user experiences on two digital library homepages using novel measures derived from saccade length (i.e., the distance a user's gaze travels across a page). Despite such measures being unsupported by common eye tracking software, we find that saccade-based measures correlate positively with several emotions and that they can be used to indicate complex interfaces that may increase user uncertainty.

In this paper, I propose a unified account of backgrounded constituents within the framework of Discourse Representation Theory. Building upon van der Sandt (1992) and Geurts (2010), I expand the scope of presupposition resolution in DRT to encompass other forms of backgrounded expressions, such as specific indefinites and conventional implicatures (in terms of Potts 2005). Each backgrounded expression constitutes a certain instruction to find, create, or update a discourse referent in the common ground. Dependent on one another, these instructions form a tree-like structure, which is subsequently realized as a syntactic tree during the process of utterance production. Among other aspects, this approach suggests a potential answer to why backgrounded constructions are islands, as articulated by Goldberg (2006).

In device-dependent color spaces, the Euclidean distance often fails to accurately represent perceived color differences, making these color spaces unsuitable for image similarity measurements. Conversely, certain device-independent color spaces, known as uniform color spaces (UCS), do align the Euclidean distance with perceived color differences. Among these, CAM16-UCS is currently considered the leading model. However, applications such as gamut mapping require additional properties, such as the preservation of planes of constant hue, which CAM16-UCS lacks. We present PCS23-UCS, a novel UCS that addresses this limitation. PCS23-UCS is specifically designed to preserve the central bundle of planes in the color space while maintaining state-of-the-art uniformity for small color differences.

Digital microfluidic biochips provide a controlled and miniaturized environment to carry out biochemical protocols in an automated fashion. Software-based simulators are essential tools that aid the design of such protocols by enabling users to verify correct execution before targeting the physical biochip. To produce a simulation that is faithful to reality, the fluidic behavior of the droplets and their interaction with the driving electrodes must be taken into account. This paper presents a framework for simulating DMF biochips in a resource-constrained web-based environment. The framework is based on a novel droplet model that uses logic-based calculations to capture fluidic behavior. Thus, enabling to faithfully simulate the movement, merging, and splitting of arbitrary-shaped droplets with a low-computational footprint. The simulation framework also includes modular component models to capture the behavior of sensors and actuators, an event-driven simulation engine, and a graphical user interface. The framework is implemented as a client-side web application and runs in a browser. The evaluation carried out using artificial and real-life test cases shows that the framework can deliver real-time simulations with a high level of fidelity.

The automatic registration of noninvasive second-harmonic generation microscopy to hematoxylin and eosin slides is a highly desired, yet still unsolved problem. The task is challenging because the second-harmonic images contain only partial information, in contrast to the stained H&E slides that provide more information about the tissue morphology. Moreover, both imaging methods have different intensity distributions. Therefore, the task can be formulated as a multi-modal registration problem with missing data. In this work, we propose a method based on automatic keypoint matching followed by deformable registration based on instance optimization. The method does not require any training and is evaluated using the dataset provided in the Learn2Reg challenge by the COMULIS organization. The method achieved relatively good generalizability resulting in 88% of success rate in the initial alignment and average target registration error equal to 2.48 on the external validation set. We openly release the source code and incorporate it in the DeeperHistReg image registration framework.

Recently, the powerful generalization ability exhibited by foundation models has brought forth new solutions for zero-shot anomaly segmentation tasks. However, guiding these foundation models correctly to address downstream tasks remains a challenge. This paper proposes a novel two-stage framework, for zero-shot anomaly segmentation tasks in industrial anomaly detection. This framework excellently leverages the powerful anomaly localization capability of CLIP and the boundary perception ability of SAM. (1) To mitigate SAM's inclination towards object segmentation, we propose the Co-Feature Point Prompt Generation (PPG) module. This module collaboratively utilizes CLIP and SAM to generate positive and negative point prompts, guiding SAM to focus on segmenting anomalous regions rather than the entire object. (2) To further optimize SAM's segmentation results and mitigate rough boundaries and isolated noise, we introduce the Cascaded Prompts for SAM (CPS) module. This module employs hybrid prompts cascaded with a lightweight decoder of SAM, achieving precise segmentation of anomalous regions. Across multiple datasets, consistent experimental validation demonstrates that our approach achieves state-of-the-art zero-shot anomaly segmentation results. Particularly noteworthy is our performance on the Visa dataset, where we outperform the state-of-theart methods by 10.3% and 7.7% in terms of F1-max and AP metrics, respectively.

The emergence of tools based on artificial intelligence has also led to the need of producing explanations which are understandable by a human being. In most approaches, the system is considered a black box, making it difficult to generate appropriate explanations. In this work, though, we consider a setting where models are transparent: probabilistic logic programming (PLP), a paradigm that combines logic programming for knowledge representation and probability to model uncertainty. However, given a query, the usual notion of explanation is associated with a set of choices, one for each random variable of the model. Unfortunately, such a set does not explain why the query is true and, in fact, it may contain choices that are actually irrelevant for the considered query. To improve this situation, we present in this paper an approach to explaining explanations which is based on defining a new query-driven inference mechanism for PLP where proofs are labeled with choice expressions, a compact and easy to manipulate representation for sets of choices. The combination of proof trees and choice expressions allows us to produce comprehensible query justifications with a causal structure.
