There is a global sensemaking going on regarding new decentralizing technologies, with labels like blockchain, SSI and Web3 facilitating the discourse. Like many other institutions, governments are engaging in early innovation processes to learn what role they can and will play. There are, however, many ways that groups of government actors can make sense of such innovation. Based on a qualitative, interpretative, case study of two different types of government organizations (a state agency and a municipality) I show that early innovation with new decentralizing technologies can be framed differently by government actors along several dimensions: 1) application vs. infrastructure, 2) incremental vs. future oriented, 3) technology as driver vs. technology as trigger, 4) use case vs. institutional design, and 5) low vs. high material engagement. From this I propose a concept of innovation frames in public sector innovation. With this concept I contribute to knowledge on early innovation work with technologies that are new-to-the-world, and where the potential scope is wider than organizational processes. The insights overall inform future research on public sector innovation as it highlights the importance of being sensitive to early phases, the novelty of technology, and infrastructural change.

As a place frequently accessed by residents and tourists, the public space of rural watershed environment, with its good performance of availability and service experience, is conducive to the adaptation of the countryside to the development needs of the new era. In this study, a typical water village in Lingnan region is selected as a sample, and the rural spatial form and spatial nodes are analyzed, and it is proposed that there are problems such as weak service function and lack of coordination of landscape effect in the current rural water public space. The study combines the theories related to service experience and usability of public space, establishes a service experience perception model for rural public space, and explores the optimization path of rural water public space to enhance the perception and applicability of rural experience users. The study shows thatmeasures such as street optimization, spatial node planning, and overall landscape transformation of buildings can effectively improve the safety, comfort, and pleasure indicators of rural waterfront space. Improving the service function and landscape visual effect of rural water public space can further enhance the usability and user experience of public space in water network villages.

Hopes are high for enhancing public sector capabilities in addressing complex challenges and creating value from digitalization through various multi-actor and multi-level approaches. Yet, scholars also raise concerns that an emphasis on digital resource configurability may overlook important contexual dimensions, leading to increased managerialism and reduced legitimacy within new public sector paradigms. This paper explores the concept of public service ecosystems, both as an analytical lens and a subject of critique, focusing on the shifts brought about by digitalization, while scrutinizing the optimism and technological focus that often accompany these transformations. Drawing on a longitudinal case study from the Swedish public sector, we unveil how a public service ecosystem, facilitated by modular open-source architecture and multi-actor engagement, faces challenges including i) demand-supply gaps in digital services, ii) governance issues, and iii) integration between digital and physical channels. As such the framework of public service ecosystem is challenged as a sometimes naive idea underplaying the complexity of e-service development in the public sector. At the same time it worked as a lens to structure and nuance the findings and bridge the gap between technological and contextual focus, and informed suggestions for further research.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between the interest and satisfaction of accommodation users in terms of usage situations such as travel purposes and companions. Using the topic model, we analyzed review data from an online travel reservation site and found that the following factors were most frequently mentioned: "room reservation and change of reservation," "customer service by employees," "hot spring facilities," "location of lodging facilities," "food," "travel purpose," and "travel companion. And food", "location of lodging facilities", "facilities of accommodations", "facilities in the room", and "check-in and check-out". These topics were then assigned to each review data, aggregated by facility use situation, and subjected to a chi-square test, which revealed that the topics of interest varied by use situation. In addition, a two-way ANOVA was conducted to determine whether the topics and usage situations to which reviews were assigned were related to satisfaction with the accommodations. The results revealed that both the assigned topic and usage situation were significant and that an interaction effect also existed.

Whilst the robustness and resilience of power transmission networks including their susceptibility to attacks on measurements has been studied extensively, this is not the case for distribution networks. Although simpler in structure and instrumentation, these face increasing challenges from the integration of renewable energy and electric mobility, also increasing the attack surface for cyber attacks in the process. In this paper we therefore present a modelling mechanism allowing the representation of power distribution networks as well as communication and control networks with explicit parametric characterisation of their interconnection, capturing both current designs and allowing the study of future distribution networks. We then present initial results on resilience of distributed measurements based on topological properties.

This paper introduces a novel concept of virtual 3D debugging in software development, motivated by mental model research in information studies and cognitive design elements. The main goal is to improve the debugging process by allowing programmers to navigate and visualize code in a virtual 3D environment, thereby supporting the construction of the programmers mental model during software exploration. The paper also present the findings of an exploratory study of participants mental models of an academic information system. Participants used our 3D debugging prototype for a debugging procedure as part of the process of making sense of their experiences. Furthermore, software developers often struggle with debugging. Comprehension of the program structure or the underlying processes can be problematic especially as programs become more complex, or if a person is unfamiliar with the source code. Debugging is an essential part of the software development process, and this paper aims to address this challenge using innovative methods.

Economic crises are an inherent problem of market-based economies, which is repeatedly appearing with various levels of intensity, resulting in 'recessions', meant as significant contractions of economic activity. They have negative consequences on organizations (both private and public ones), as they decrease their financial resources, and therefore their operational and investment expenses and activities. In this paper we focus on public organizations and investigate the effects of economic crisis on a highly important activity of them: their digital transformation activity. For our study we have selected a highly appropriate national context: Greece, which has been hit by a strong economic crisis between 2010-2018. We investigate the effects of this economic crisis on the digital transformation of a large, costly and highly important for the society and the economy public organization: the Ministry of Education. For this purpose, we have constructed a research framework, based on the 'Resource-based View' (RBV) of the firm, as well as a comprehensive conceptualization of government digital transformation, as our theoretical foundations. Data have been collected through a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques. It has been concluded that the above economic crisis resulted in a serious decrease of the ICT-related investment and operating expenses (for the acquisition of ICT resources) of the Ministry of Education. However, despite this decrease the economic crisis has led to a significant increase of the digital transformation developments of this Ministry, and a significant advancement in all the main dimensions of the digital transformation of it.

In the museum experience, digital technologies such as AR are constantly updating the user experience, and gamification interventions are likewise increasing the interest and effectiveness of visitors' learning. This paper investigated the effect of a gamified AR format on engagement during a simulated guided tour of the Qujialing Site Museum in Hubei Province, China. Twenty-five participants from Huazhong University of science and Technology (HUST) simulated two tour formats of the Qujialing Site Museum before and after on an AOC monitor and an iPhone 13 mobile device(One simulating a conventional audio-visual tour and one in the form of a gamified AR format). The results showed that the gamified AR format significantly increased participants' engagement in the tour (p = 0.029 < 0.05), and the mean scores of the six dimensions of engagement were higher than those of the pre-test, with EN(4.42) scoring the highest on the post-test, followed by PU(4.38), FI(4.37), NO(4.31), FA(4.18), AE(4.16) scoring the *** findings on engagement subscale attributes may have implications for future AR and gamification design in museums to enhance a better tour experience, although this has not been shown to maximize engagement.

This study aimed to examine whether boys and girls demonstrate inclinations that drive them to select interactions with humanoid robots that share psychological and physical similarities with them and display gender characteristics aligning with their own. Forty-four students, aged 10 to 13, from two distinct primary school classes, engaged in a study where they interacted in a CAVE with a simulated humanoid robot with a gender of their choice, selected between male or female at the beginning of the procedure. They were instructed to assist the experimenter in the robot's design process. Subsequently, participants were assessed for any gender stereotypes. The results indicate that children generally exhibit a preference for interacting with robots of their own gender rather than those of a different gender. Notably, the study suggests that the perceived level of agency assigned to gendered robots may be influenced by the extent of hostile sexism. Specifically, an increase in hostile sexism corresponds to an augmented perception of male robots as possessing agentic qualities. Conversely, a different pattern, only marginally significant, seems to emerge in relation to benevolent sexism, where an increase in benevolent sexism is associated with a heightened perception of female robots as agentic technology.
