This paper presents the design and implementation of a web application aimed at facilitating access to a multilingual terminology database specifically created for speakers of marginalized languages that often cannot access information they need and want in a language and format they understand. The database contains essential concepts translated into 39 languages, for a total of 9,506 terms. The design of the database and the web application has been performed in order to follow the FAIR principle of Open science in order to guarantee efficient data organization and retrieval. The web application, developed using the R Shiny framework, enables users to search the database by selecting a source language and, optionally, a target language. The interface displays concept definitions in English and provides filtered lists of equivalents in the chosen languages. Users can export selected datasets in TermBase eXchange standard (TBX) format for reusability. The interface offers a user-friendly experience, allowing users to navigate through the database effortlessly.

With the further development of China's economy, the demand for tourism has increased dramatically, and the importance of User Experience (UX) as a key factor in the tourism industry has become increasingly important. Therefore, Understanding the current situation of UX in China's tourism industry, finding the key factors affecting UX, identifying and solving the main problems, and researching the development history are of great significance in guiding the future development of UX research. However, no scholars have yet to conduct a comprehensive combing of core Chinese journals for this field and analyse the research through knowledge map. Hence, this paper adopts scientific bibliometric method to select all the journal articles collected by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and uses CiteSpace and SATI as the research tools to carry out a comprehensive analysis. The results show that: 1) China's research on the themes of "User Experience" and "Tourism" started in 2011, and the research disciplines are mainly distributed in the fields of Tourism, computer Software and computer Application, Trade and Economy;2) Based on the analysis of the co-occurrence diagram of the knowledge map, the research mainly focuses on "User Experience", "Service Design" and "Tourism". And 3) From the knowledge map of authors and major research institutions, it can be seen that the research on User Experience in China's tourism industry is more concentrated, with a high degree of cooperation, but currently there is still no relatively fixed large-scale research team.

This study explores the feasibility of training amachine learning model to recognize pre-error signals in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) using Flanker test data from the COG-BCI dataset, and subsequently employing this model to detect pre-error states in aviation pilots. To address this issue, we applied various machine learning models to the dataset, including Support Vector Machines (SVM), and Random Forests, double Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model, and a Transformer model, renowned for handling sequential data efficiently. Pilot experiments were conducted in an Airbus A320 simulator to assess real-time cognitive activity during takeoff, involving seven pilots and six engineers. Cognitive workload (CW), heart rate (HR), and pupil diameter (PD) were measured using an EEG headset, Polar H10 heart rate monitor strap, and Gazepoint GP3 eye tracker. Results from the analysis of the FLANKER dataset using various models revealed the superiority of the transformer model, with notable reductions in false negatives and a final F1 score of 0.610. Moving beyond typical study conclusions, our objective extends to assessing model applicability in a secondary domain-evaluating the classifiers' discriminative power during takeoff procedures for aviation pilots. Despite a slight reduction in performance, the transformer model still outperforms other models in classification with an F1 of 0.578. Although there's room for improvement in erroneous state detection, these results indicate trends in electrical brain activity that correlate with decreased behavioral performance. The transformer's real-time performance, with an inference speed of 0.01 s, positions it favorably for Brain-computer Interface (BCI) applications. Witness Encryption is a holy grail of cryptography that remains elusive. It asks that a secret is only revealed when a particular computational problem is solved. Modern smart contracts and blockchains make assumptions of "honest majority", which allow for a social implementation of Witness Encryption. The core idea is to make use of a partially trusted committee to carry out the responsibilities mandated by these functionalities - such as keeping the secret private, and then releasing it publicly after a solution to the computational puzzle is presented. We propose Cassiopeia, a smart contract Witness Encryption scheme (with public witness security) and provide an open source composable implementation that can be utilized as an oracle by others within the broader DeFi ecosystem. We devise a cryptoeconomic scheme to incentivize honest participation, and analyze its security under the honest majority and rational majority settings. We conclude by measuring and optimizing gas costs and illustrating the practicality of our scheme.

Teachers consistently face the challenge of realizing the self-professional development. The penetration of technology into education provides a new environment for teachers' professional development, which will inevitably affect teachers' professional development motivation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the motivation of teachers' professional development, institutional support, perceived technology usefulness and attitude toward using technology. A total of vailed 1997 questionnaires were collected and using the moderated mediation model analysis method. The results show that institutional support has a positive predictive effect on teachers' online professional development motivation. In addition, perceived technology usefulness and attitude toward using technology play a chain mediating role. The teachers' urbanrural workplaces play an important regulatory role in the model. We find that rural teachers' attitudes toward technology use are more likely to be influenced by perceived institutional support than urban teachers. The implications of this study are also discussed and directions for future research are suggested.

Research shows that digital games can engage students inmathematics and enhance their performance. While mathematics teachers see "maths games" as useful tools, their lack of knowledge about teaching with such games as well as shortage of appropriate games for teaching upper secondary school mathematics prevents the full potential of game-based teaching. This study presentsGeomWiz, a gamified geometry quiz, for learning geometry in upper secondary schools as well as two teaching scenarios for using it in teaching. A student user experience study was carried out in three European countries in which teachers piloted GeomWiz and the teaching scenarios. Based on the results, game-based learning with game contents that matches the learning objectives is suitable for geometry teaching in upper secondary schools. Teaching scenarios assist the inclusion of the game into teaching.

We evaluate the zero-shot ability of GPT-4 and LLaVa to perform simple Visual Network Analysis (VNA) tasks on small-scale graphs. We evaluate the Vision Language Models (VLMs) on 5 tasks related to three foundational network science concepts: identifying nodes of maximal degree on a rendered graph, identifying whether signed triads are balanced or unbalanced, and counting components. The tasks are structured to be easy for a human who understands the underlying graph theoretic concepts, and can all be solved by counting the appropriate elements in graphs. We find that while GPT-4 consistently outperforms LLaVa, both models struggle with every visual network analysis task we propose. We publicly release the first benchmark for the evaluation of VLMs on foundational VNA tasks.

As digital education transcends traditional boundaries, e-learning experiences are increasingly shaped by cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and adaptive learning systems. This study examines the integration of AI-driven personalized instruction within immersive VR environments, targeting enhanced learner engagement-a core metric in online education effectiveness. Employing a user-centric design, the research utilizes embodied AI tutors, calibrated to individual learners' emotional intelligence and cognitive states, within a Python programming curriculum-a key area in computer science education. The methodology relies on intelligent tutoring systems and personalized learning pathways, catering to a diverse participant pool from Virginia Tech. Our data-driven approach, underpinned by the principles of educational psychology and computational pedagogy, indicates that AI-enhanced virtual learning environments significantly elevate user engagement and proficiency in programming education. Although the scope is limited to a single academic institution, the promising results advocate for the scalability of such AI-powered educational tools, with potential implications for distance learning, MOOCs, and lifelong learning platforms. This research contributes to the evolving narrative of smart education and the role of large language models (LLMs) in crafting bespoke educational experiences, suggesting a paradigm shift towards more interactive, personalized e-learning solutions that align with global educational technology trends.

While people-to-people recommendation often relies on collaborative filtering, which suffers from cold-start issues, this study intends to propose methods of interest similarity that can provide recommendations with only userprovided data, thus circumventing cold-start issues. Participants in a data collection experiment provided personal data about themselves and information about the type of people they would like to become friends with based on a summary of interests and personal information. This data was used to devise several methods of comparing the users' interests and information to determine their potential friendship success. The interests were represented as word embeddings and used in both vectorial and image forms. An original score that calculates similarity based on information about desired friends collected from the users' data is proposed in order to capture interest similarity information based on the users' perception. These inputs were used both separately and combined to train several neural network models, as well as ensemble models. The proposed methods show an improvement in recommendation quality when compared to the established baseline, particularly when used in ensembles.
