Most of issues today that nature can face are the gas emissions that contribute in a severe manner to the climate change and then the global warming and desertification. This is about systems and products that do not respect nature. The end-of-life (EoL) disassembly of mechatronic systems such as ships and vehicles consumes a great deal of time and energy. The evaluation of disassembly plans based on the dissipated energy enables an optimum solution and preserves the environment. This paper presents a green approach based on the evaluation of EoL disassembly plans. The evaluation is based on the energy consumed during the dismounting of parts or subsets. A mathematical formulation of the consumed energy during the dismounting operation is developed. An illustrative example is implemented to emphasize the advantages and limitations of the proposed methodology.

The commoditization initiatives triggered inmanufacturing companies the concern with the rigidity of their offers, and the appeal of their offers to their customers, leading to servitization strategies. This research highlights the importance of preventive maintenance, and builds on the extraction and processing of data for a PSS business model. Data from https://*** was used to analyze the performance of a production process with three products with differentiated levels of quality. Data analysis was of exploratory nature using descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation through, using Python via Google Collaboratory. The main failures were exposed allowing the elaboration of a preventive maintenance plan. Through multivariate statistical analyses, we demonstrate that in a PSS business model, having machine suppliers at your disposal that combine the sale of the item with the provision of predictive maintenance services is a differential that will help to make assertive a preventive d skillful decision, avoiding maintenance unnecessary and waste of time.

Flow and heat transfer characteristics are investigated numerically flow over heated dimpled surface at turbulent flow conditions in a rectangular channel. Both circular and oval dimples are used together for heated dimple surface in a staggered arrangement. In numerical calculations, the finite volume method is used. Three different dimple depth to diameter ratios (0.067, 0.1 and 0.2), two different longitudinal distances (21.6 mm and 24 mm), and one oval dimple angle (30 degrees) are considered. The range of Reynolds number is between 10000 and 60000. Validation study is done with experimental results at Re = 50500, flow and heat transfer over circular dimples in a staggered arrangement with three depths to diameter ratios of 0.067, 0.1 and 0.2. Friction factor f, friction factor ratio f/f(0), total Nusselt number Nu(total) and Nusselt number ratio Nu(total)/Nu(0) values are acquired according to Reynolds number. As the depth to diameter ratio increases, all parameters increases except performance. While longitudinal distance increases, all parameters decreases. Reynolds number has strong influence an all parameters.

Characterization techniques are of the utmost importance to determine the properties of a material, especially before the performance of experimental tests, as it will make it possible to optimize it. Multi-material machining is a manufacturing process that sustains diverse challenges, namely the fast tool wear caused by the composite fibres' abrasive nature, as well as the need to cut through interface zones between the metal and the composite, being subject to two or more different cutting patterns at the same time. A proper coating is one of the answers to this problem;however, it must be correctly characterized so that premature wear of the tool does not occur, and its lifetime can be extended as much as possible but without damaging the substrate. Several characterization techniques are used in machining tool coatings, for example, for diamond, the most important are the atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, the pin-on-disc test, the micro-abrasion, the scratch test, and nano/microindentation. This manuscript reviews of the use of these methods by the authors in the literature, some of which combined them for a complete characterization of the coating, obtaining good results in their analysis. Hence, the objective of the study is to allow the reunion of all the information needed to know to decide which coating to choose for a specific application.

This research introduces a method for autonomous driving systems to safely overtake bicycles in urban environments. It identifies the risk of sudden crossing when overtaking a bicycle and proposes a solution to minimize this risk. The method classifies the situation into three conditions related to the drivable space of the road and speed of the bicycle, and it determines the target speed and positions. The proposed algorithm uses onboard sensor information and assumptions of the bicycle's virtual sudden-crossing motion, enabling real-time calculations in a practical environment. Simulations demonstrate the method's effectiveness, showing it can generate a natural overtaking speed and lateral gap based on road width and bicycle speed. The proposed method is compatible with waypoint-based path generation methods we have proposed in previous research, making it a promising solution for future autonomous driving systems. Future research will discuss the method's implementation in automated vehicles, contributing to safer and more efficient autonomous driving systems.

The discrete-ordinates-method (DOM) is one of the primary numerical techniques for the solution of the Boltzmann Transport Equation (BTE) as well as other transport equations that have been derived from the BTE. These transport equations are used for the study of various phenomenon such as the radiation heat transfer in a participating media, heat conduction via phonon transport at the micro/nanometre scales, neutron transport theory, etc. DOM has traditionally been used in rectangular coordinates, however, relatively recently, the DOM technique has been fully extended to be applicable in structured, general, orthogonal as well as non-orthogonal coordinate systems. Orthogonal and non-orthogonal coordinate systems can be successfully used to cover complex, irregular geometrical domains with a structured mesh and hence an efficient solution procedure based on theDOM can be developed.

A fully, three-dimensional analysis of horizontal wind turbine working on Mosul area wind conditions is presented in this paper. Weather and operating conditions including wind speed, temperature and atmospheric pressure for the city of Mosul collected and analyzed. The theoretical analysis and geometry design performed using computer software called "Q-blade". RANS equations are solved using available solver from ANSYS. The two-equation, k-epsilon model is used to close the RANS equations. The wind speed is varied to mimic the weather conditions of Mosul area. The results are included but not limited to performance, dynamic behavior and performance of turbine.

When a train passes through the bridge structure, the low-frequency structural noise radiated by the bridge often is an important noise source disturbing nearby residents. The noise affects the quality of life and even causes harms to the physical and mental health of nearby residents. Therefore, more and more scholars begin to study how to effectively reduce the structural noise of the bridge. Currently, the treatment principle of brige noise mainly focuses on vibration isolation, vibration absorption, and optimization of the dynamic characteristics of bridges, very few researches have taken advantage of ascoutic short circuit principle to control the bridge noise. This article firstly analyzes the noise contribution volume of various parts of a bridge, controlling the bridge noise by utilizing the ascoutic short circuit principle based on the contribution of various plates of the bridge structure.

In this paper, a method and model of sound insulation prediction for the side wall structure of a high-speed train based on back propagation neural network is proposed. Firstly, the components of high-speed train side walls are classified and analyzed. Based on the measured results and existing literature, the main factors affecting the sound insulation characteristics of side walls are listed to form a feature set. Then, correlation analysis and redundancy analysis were carried out for the above feature sets, and the optimal feature subset was determined based on the maximum correlation-minimum redundancy (M-RMR) criterion. Finally, the BP neural network model is established and trained with the sound insulation volume of side wall structure as the objective function. The results show that compared with the traditional FEM model, the BP neural network model significantly improves the computational efficiency and accuracy.

In heavy snowfall areas in Japan, a new Shinkansen train network is scheduled to open in the near future. The construction of viaducts with snow-removing openings on the floor slab has been planned to effectively remove snow on railway tracks during the winter. However, the noise generated by Shinkansen vehicles is directly radiated from the openings. In this study, an attempt is made to understand the acoustical performances of devices to reduce the noise radiated from the openings using both laboratory measurements on scale models and field tests in full-scale with running Shinkansen vehicles. The effects of 14 types of devices on Shinkansen noise are investigated in the scale model studies and Shinkansen noise is effectively reduced by approximately 10 dB at locations below the viaduct and at 25 m to the side for devices with sound-absorbing materials. The effects of the devices on Shinkansen noise were almost equal in the field tests to those obtained in the laboratory measurements.
