This paper focus on the validation of the strain measurement chain of an instrumented wheelset Finite Element (FE) static model for railway applications equipped with strain gauges, involving the inverse measurement of contact forces exchanged at the wheel-rail interface. Previous activities have highlighted some concerns about the static response of the FE model, obtained with a commercial FE software, which gave rise to the necessity of validating and assessing its static performances and reliability with a specific simulation. The chosen case study reproduces a test known as the "deformation test", in which the strain state of a surface is evaluated at various points to reconstruct the punctual trend of deformations. The FE model is compared with reference experimental results obtained through a static calibration bench for railway axles. Considering the uncertainty in the actual measurement chain, a good agreement is achieved between experimental measurements and synthetic data with an average relative error of 5%. For further validation, the inverse force identification and the selection of radii with greater sensitivity to forces and low relative error with experimental data, is also presented based on strain gauge coefficients of influence, obtained solving the inverse system of strain equations with linear superposition technique and Moore-Penrose pseudo inverse of the load matrix.

Gantry cranes are widely used in ports for transshipment of building materials, containers, lumber and other cargo. They are usually used in open-type warehouses, their advantages include ease of manufacture and operation, short installation time. The results of this study represent a base for future predictions for the number of attacks and ransomware strains. In the study of defects in metal structures of gantry cranes, the parameters of crack resistance are determined, on the basis of which their resource is determined. The experimental kinetic diagrams of the fatigue fracture of the material demonstrated that crack growth accelerated more strongly in the range of K = 11...21 MPa center dot m(1/2), where the asymmetry of the load cycle causes a 1.3-2 times increase in crack growth. At R = 0.6, there is already no crack closure effect, a decrease in the fatigue threshold, and an intensification of crack growth over the entire Delta K range. This is consistent with the data on the kinetics of fatigue crack growth at the Peris site.

The utilization of limited power supply is the most significant challenge in wireless sensor networks. It is imperative that all protocols in WSN are designed with the constraints of limited power supply in mind. Energy-efficient routing and scheduling algorithms are necessary for wireless sensor networks to ensure better energy efficiency, longer network life, and reliable performance. In this paper we shall discuss various existing LEACH-based routing protocols. Further, a modified routing scheme has been proposed in this paper which is an optimized and better version of LEACH routing protocol. Subsequently, performance of the proposed scheme has been analyzed with respect to LEACH in terms of various performance metrics through simulation using MATLAB.

The most common method of refrigeration, a vapor compression air cooling system (VCACS), has adverse effects on both human health and the environment, including refrigerant poisoning, ozone layer depletion, and other severe consequences. This project attempts to provide an alternative method of refrigeration that can compete with the VCACS and offer a more sustainable solution. The thermoelectric air-cooling system (TACS) is one such alternative, which operates without the use of gases. In this project, we compare the TACS to the VCACS. The thermoelectric air cooler is constructed using a Peltier module as the primary component, which is placed on a heat pump to remove hot air and enable the device to reach optimal temperatures. While the temperature of the thermoelectric cooler drops at equal rate similar to that of a VCACS, it ceases moving after reaching a specific temperature. During the experiment, it was observed that the TAC can reach a mean temperature of 29.70 degrees C which is close to that of the VCAC which is 29.35 degrees C. It means the TAC has equal cooling rate just as the VCAC (i.e., 0.053 C/min). Also, in terms of power consumption, compared to the VCAC, the TAC consumes about 62.04 W of power which makes it more energy efficient than the VCAC. Overall, the thermoelectric air cooler offers a promising alternative to the traditional VCACS method of refrigeration, without the negative influence on the environment and human health.

Inspection of power transmission lines is often a highly hazardous activity, subject to uncertainties due to the system and environmental characteristics. The present study aims to develop a mobile robot to inspect transmission lines. The development process encompasses a series of fundamental steps. Initially, a highly realistic simulation environment is created, containing an authentic section of a transmission line. Subsequently, the simulated robot is designed and equipped with a camera and LIDAR sensor to inspect the simulated transmission line. Once the simulation results are validated, the real prototype of the robot is materialized. This approach allows for a precise evaluation of the robot's performance, enabling necessary adjustments and enhancements to ensure the effectiveness of transmission line inspection. The prototype consists of a robotic gripper capable of conducting preventive and predictive inspections in transmission lines.

In todays changing world driven by the digital revolution Moroccan public institutions face a challenge;effectively incorporating digital technologies into the education system. This shift not offers ways for students to learn by rethinking traditional teaching methods but also underscores the significance of promoting engagement, interaction and personalized learning experiences. However, within these opportunities are obstacles to overcome. This article explores the factors influencing the adoption of tools among educators in Moroccan public institutions. Through this research we aim to make a contribution by unraveling the dynamics of technology integration in this context. Our objective is to identify the drivers and barriers shaping this adoption process thus enhancing teachers preparedness for the age and creating an environment that better meets the needs of Moroccan students in the 21st century. Additionally this study seeks to initiate discussions and initiatives focused on improving education practices in Moroccan public schools. By conducting data analysis and involving stakeholders we aspire to instigate transformations, in Moroccos educational landscape.

The virtual reality (VR) industry is continuously developing. By using VR, users can play games, experience virtual spaces, and utilize them for work. As the importance and utilization of VR increased, scholars' interest steadily increased. This paper aims to clarify the antecedents of satisfaction in the context of VR. The data was gathered from the users who had used VR. The current study empirically analyzed the data by employing partial least squares (PLS). The results show that aesthetics is affected by color, layout, and shape. The findings reveal that usability is influenced by cognitive affordance and functional affordance. Satisfaction is impacted by only aesthetics. This article discussed the research results and derived contributions. This article will provide useful guidelines for VR-related academia and industry.

The safety of a nuclear power plant as a whole depends on the accuracy of measuring the temperature of the cement base of the dome of a nuclear power plant. The used measuring instruments should not create electromagnetic interference during measurements, therefore, fiber optic measuring instruments have been preferred recently. The subject of this study is scientific and technical solutions of fiber optic temperature sensors with compensation channel, which are part of the monitoring systems of nuclear power plant containment. The purpose of the work is to develop design and technological solutions of fiber optic temperature sensors, providing the possibility of its application in rigid deformable media with a minimum dynamic error due to inertial processes of transfer of thermal fields in the body of the sensor. The main approach to achieve the goal is adaptation of previously developed technical solutions of fiber optic temperature sensors to the conditions of measurement in rigid deformable media, which are the supporting parts of the dome of a nuclear power plant. As a result of research the structure and design of fiberoptic temperature sensors with a compensating channel of reflective type are determined. The ratios between the coefficients of thermal expansion of materials from which the structural elements of fiberoptic temperature sensors are made have been determined, providing the reduction of deformation of the protective housing and the sensitive element of fiberoptic temperature sensors at temperature change. The initial distance between the mirror surface and the ends of optical fibers opposite to the mirror surface, at which the sensor conversion function is linear, and the maximum sensitivity (up to 30%) and depth of modulation of optical signal conversion (up to 50%) are determined. In the dynamic landscape of digital communication, text messages are seamlessly integrated into everyday interactions, but they have become a prime target for cybercriminals using phishing attacks. With around 55% of users falling victim to such fraudulent tactics, addressing the growing threat of SMS phishing is imperative. This article presents an in-depth analysis of the central role of machine learning in cyber security, focusing on the detection and prevention of SMS phishing. Based on several works such as Moncada's methodology, Duenas' study of AI applications, ALMahadin's optimization based SVM model, Sheik's email classification and Pandiyan's algorithms to distinguish between legitimate and malicious websites, the study presents a robust methodology. This approach includes data collection, preprocessing, feature extraction using CountVectorizer and Tf-Idf, and data classification using various machine learning algorithms. The results show that the Random Forest Classifier is the optimal model, achieving an excellent accuracy of 97.94% in distinguishing between legitimate and potentially malicious text messages. The study concludes by highlighting the invaluable contribution of machine learning techniques in strengthening cyber security measures against the threat of SMS phishing.

Plant diseases are the most widespread and significant hazard to 'Precision Agriculture'. With early detection and analysis of diseases, the successful yield of cultivation can be increased;therefore, this process is regarded as a critical event. Unfortunately, manual observation-based detection method is error-prone, hard, and costly. Automation in identifying plant diseases is extremely beneficial because it saves time and manpower. Applying a neural network-based solution can detect disease symptoms at an early stage and facilitate the process of taking preventive or reactive measures. There have been various deep learning-based solutions, which were developed using lengthy training/testing cycles with large datasets. This study aims to investigate the suitability of computer visionbased approaches for this purpose. A comparative study has been performed using recently proposed object detection models such as YOLOv5, YOLOX, Scaled Yolov4, and SSD. Atailored version of the "PlantVillage" and "PlantDoc" datasets was used in the Indian sub-continent context, which included plant disease classes related to Potato, Corn, and Tomato plants. This study provides a detailed comparison between these object detection models and summarizes the suitability of these models for different cases. This paper can be useful for prospective researchers to decide which object detection models could be used for a specific scenario of Plant Disease Detection.
