The concept of the "Internet of Things," which states that everything is connected to everything else and that everything interactswith everything else, is a fascinating information technology concept. The integration of these devices will add to the remarkable change and prosperity in the world. This interconnectedness occurs through the exchange of data and information and enables us to communicate with objects in our environment. The Internet of Things is being integrated into the daily operations of many industries. Smart cities, smart grids, smart homes, logistics, e-health, and physical security are some examples. IoTs applications that deliver quality and affordability can be supported by an IoTs-enabled smart building. It is essential for smart buildings to handle and regulate a variety of operating variables, including temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation, safety, and more. Creating living areas with higher levels of luxury and a higher standard of living is also essential. However, there are still concerns about privacy and security. Attackers and hackers will find this large volume of transferred data to be a very interesting setup. In order to address security and privacy concerns, we will explain the issues in this article, along with their basic requirements, potential risks, countermeasures and comprehensive analysis of Cyber-attacks in smart environment.

Safety-critical systems require rapid detection of abnormal behavior to prevent damage and reduce downtime. Monitoring only individual data inputs above a threshold may be insufficient, as this approach may be too slow to respond effectively to rapidly evolving situations and fails to consider the complex interactions between various system components. Thus, advanced fault detection methods are required. Novelty detection methods address this problem by identifying previously unknown states based on knowledge of known states. We present a novel approach called Deep Ensemble Novelty Detection (DEND) for accurate and stable novelty detection performance across multivariate data such as stationary time series, non-stationary time series, tabular data, and vectorized images. In addition, we demonstrate how to identify the fault causes of the detected unknown states by the utilization of a decision tree (DT) to learn the hierarchical fault causes and the use of a multilayer perceptron (MLP) to explain the fault causes.

The researchers sought to study how ErfindenTech Pvt Ltd. strives to make businesses sustainable, through innovative operations solutions. The primary technique of research was qualitative in nature with the researchers conducting an interview of Mr. Sachin Deshpande, the founder of the enterprise. This method was supported by reference to a lot of secondary reading from reputed research journals and articles. The study showed that innovative technology-based solutions were utilized by Mr. Deshpande to make businesses sustainable in their operations. The study is important as SDGs have gained importance-worldwide, and the business case for sustainable operations is growing stronger on a daily basis.

This research introduces a novel setup for capturing, processing, and analyzing electromyographic (EMG) signals for elbow motion recognition. The setup, comprising a three-lead EMG cable assembly, an amplifier PCB, and an Arduino Nano BLE board, implements embedded machine learning and power conservation. The study applies Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for spectral analysis and feature extraction, aiding in EMG signal denoising. It utilizes the XGBoost Random Forest system for model training and K-Means Clustering for anomaly detection. The research evaluates the performance of the Edge Impulse framework, focusing on the model's performance, live classification results on the Arduino Nano BLE board, and power consumption during continuous operation. The model's offline performance was assessed using thirty additional samples, achieving an overall accuracy of 74.15%. The high performance in the "Idle" category suggests potential for a power-saving method by transitioning the system to a sleep state when idle. This evaluation provides insights for further model optimization and refinement. During the test runs conducted on the Arduino Nano BLE board, the inferencing time was measured to be approximately 50 ms. The program's power consumption was approximately 2 mAh, suggesting that it could be feasibly powered by a small rechargeable battery (approximately 200 mAh) for daily usage. This research affirms the potential of Edge Impulse and similar platforms in the field of embedded machine learning.

The modeling and simulation investigation of temperature and pH control in the coagulation of milk in the cheese vat for the production of Edam cheese were carried out. The coagulation of milk in the production of Edam cheese, which is special because it has proteins, carbohydrates, cholesterol, vitamins and minerals in its composition, and is therefore very important because it also depends on the control of temperature and pH. The coagulation will be of the desired quality of texture and determine the time that final coagulation takes in the cheese vat. It was carried out at the Professional School of Agroindustrial Engineering of the National University of Moquegua, Peru. In the modeling and simulation of temperature and pH control in milk coagulation, artificial intelligence is used, which in this case was fuzzy logic that allows us to replicate the thinking of a specialist, also with the use of LabVIEW software that allows us to do graphical programming with virtual instruments that are very easy to use compared to linear programming that requires a programming specialist. In the research carried out, it was possible to obtain graphic programming for the modeling and simulation of milk coagulation for the production of Edam cheese, the temperature is controlled at the programmed set point (33 degrees C) with the application of sufficient water vapor to achieve it. With the results of the pH measurement, it was possible to simulate the duration of milk coagulation in the cheese vat.

Smart Cities are Weaving Technology into Urban Fabric. The benefits of this intelligent transformation are multifold, from environmental sustainability, to economic prosperity, and improved quality of life. While AI has the potential to promote CSR, it is important to be aware of the potential risks. By doing so, businesses can help to ensure that AI is used in a way that benefits society and the environment, and then aligned with CSR principles. As AI and CSR are relatively new fields of study, and the SEPs industry is a vast and complex environment, it is difficult to predict how AI will impact this kind of organizations. Based on a detailed review of previous literature, the Technology-Organizations-Environment (TOE) framework, and the Diffusion of Innovation theory (DOI) and the corporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) readiness, our article focuses on the potential impact of AI on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Through a qualitative method on a single case study, our objective is to analyze the relations between the three main concepts: the SEPs emerging industry, the AI readiness/use and its impact on the CSR (protecting the resources/providing clean energy). Our findings show that SEPs heavily rely on AI systems and platforms to customize their products and services to their customers. It further highlights the urgent need for more accurate and comprehensive AI models to improve the prediction of solar production. However, our study is limited to one case, and future researches could be leaded in order to generalize our findings.

The "Lernfabrik Fallenbrunnen" (LFF) is a privately funded Learning Factory in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The main research areas are collaborative robotics, machine vision, extended reality, and connectivity in production. Part of the learning factory is the manufacturing process of a demonstrator product, distributed to various places, including manual workstations with digital guidance, stationary and mobile robots, automated electric testing, and an automated rack storage system. Recently, DHBW Ravensburg established its own Learning Factory (LFD-HBW) at campus Friedrichshafen near the Lernfabrik Fallenbrunnen. From the beginning, the intention has been to build a factory out of student projects for education and research purposes. This paper will focus on the combination and connection, physical and logical, of both learning factories. Both factories form an innovative production network called "Zukuftsfabrik Bodensee" (ZFB). The concept is designed so that the network works as a supplement. Still, every factory can operate independently if intended and can be developed by their organization on a different level, speed, and purpose. The ZFB replicates a value chain with networked, adaptive, and self-learning systems. The production network manufactures a product in many variants and returns in the circular economy. The network will provide the basis for targeted, practice-oriented research and teaching in digital twins, AI in production, human-machine interaction, production platforms, and the circular economy. The research projects of the AI and production experts are always oriented to the current needs of the industry by involving regional stakeholders.

Being able to communicate information is important in the information society, and data visualization is an important way to do so, but there are limitations to software accessibility for the visually impaired. For the visually impaired who have difficulty creating charts, which are essential for information transfer and understanding, we implemented a voice report generator supporting various chart drawing. The system allows users to say the title, type, data, and labels of a chart, and then generates a chart based on this information. The system supports a variety of plot types, has a simple user interface, and can be operated using a Bluetooth remote control. We conducted an experiment to evaluate the usability of this system and found that it is a convenient and efficient system for generating reports without much difficulty for visually impaired people.

The paper discusses a new predictive model of a fuzzy volatile time series, in the framework of which a new approach to the fuzzification of historical data is proposed as the results of observations based on "soft measurements" of the states of a dynamic system over a certain period of time. As an example, the Dow Jones index was chosen, the readings of which are set based on the results of daily trading on the US stock exchange by the usual arithmetic averaging of contextual indicators. This allows to consider the daily readings of the Dow Jones index as weakly structured, and to interpret the dynamics of its change as a fuzzy time series. The fuzzification procedure is implemented by the fuzzy inference system that provides the values of the membership functions of the corresponding fuzzy subsets of the discrete universe covering the set of index indicators for the period from June 15, 2018 to October 10, 2019. The proposed predictive model is based on the identified internal relationships, designed as first-order fuzzy relations between evaluation criteria or fuzzy sets that describe weakly structuredDowJones indexes. At the end of the study, the proposed model is evaluated for adequacy using the statistical criteria MAPE, MPE and MSE.

This study compares two computer vision methods to detect yellow sticky traps using unmanned autonomous vehicles in olive tree cultivation. The traps aim to combat and monitor the density of the Bactrocera oleae, an important pest that damages olive fruit, leading to substantial economic losses annually. The evaluation encompassed two distinct methods: firstly, an algorithm employing conventional segmentation techniques like thresholding and contour localization, and secondly, a contemporary artificial intelligence approach utilizing YOLOv8, a state-of-the-art technology. A specific dataset was created to train and adjust the two algorithms. At the end of the study, both were able to locate the trap precisely. The segmentation algorithm demonstrated superior performance at proximal distances (50 cm), outperforming the outcomes achieved by YOLOv8. In contrast, YOLOv8 exhibited sustained precision, irrespective of the distance under examination. These findings affirm the versatility of both algorithms, highlighting their adaptability to various contexts based on distinct application demands. Consideration of trade-offs between accuracy and processing speed is essential in determining the most appropriate algorithm for a given application.
