The article presents research on factors that influence the safety of tram passengers at the tram stop. The authors, based on the literature review, analyse the causes of adversity events. Based on them, the authors selected factors influencing passenger safety at tram stops. The selected factors were analysed with the DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method. Analysis allows one to find and analyse cause-and-effect relationships between factors. The factors under investigation were: (1) passenger behaviour, (2) behaviour of other road users, (3) equipment standards and parameters of stops, (4) type of stop, including: separation from other traffic zones, (5) mutual visibility of traffic participants, (6) number of passengers and volume of passenger exchange, (7) atmospheric conditions, including daylight, (8) the presence of service points.

Computer Science studies is among the primary fields usually dominated by male audiences. But can the empirical data explain this preference or are other types of factors responsible for its perpetuation? This study aims to contribute by examining the student performance in a per gender manner from an introductory Data Structures course taught in the second semester of a university's undergraduate program. The years whose data was used are 2021 and 2022. Visualization and statistical analysis tests are applied on the programming errors and grades per student as an attempt to monitor said performance per gender throughout the semester and determine if any differences arise. Association rule mining is also used in order to uncover the role of the students' different attributes in shaping their course pass status. The findings suggest that the student's gender does not considerably affect their performance, while the two genders' results rarely were statistically different. Moreover, in all the cases where differences emerge, women are the gender with the higher academic performance.

Since the 1990s, tramway transport in East-Central Europe has been experiencing a renaissance. In urban planning practice, there has been a growing trend towards the displacement of individual motorized transportation, thereby reducing traffic congestion and air pollution, creating the foundations of a healthier, more liveable urban environment. In the major cities, large-scale investments have recently been carried out or are being planned. Most of the investments focused the modernization and renovation of existing line sections, but there are also examples of new lines being built. Due to the increasing demands placed on rail transport (reduction of noise and vibration loads, as well as of life cycle costs), the use of embedded superstructures is gaining ground in Poland as well. These superstructures are excellent from a technical point of view and have a lower environmental impact in terms of noise and vibration, but the cost savings and ecological footprint reductions vary between designs. Our research proposes a standardized approach to measure environmental impacts of urban railway projects using ecological footprint (EF) calculation. As a result of our previous studies, we found that the ecological footprint of a design built with B3 rails is significantly smaller than that of a design built with 59Ri2 rails. In our current study, we have investigated how the ecological footprint of the design with the more favourable ecological footprint changes when it is modified to meet the environmental considerations. We examined the additional environmental impact of reducing noise and vibration. In our research we present an example from Krakow to illustrate the practical application.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for educational systems to incorporate Remote Teaching and Learning (RTL) methods. However, the implementation of widespread RTL has faced challenges with adverse effects on student learning outcomes and mental health. This paper explores the use of telepresence robots (TPRs) as a solution to ensure educational continuity during disruptions. TPRs enable students who are unable to attend school physically to actively participate in classroom activities and interact with peers and teachers. This study examines students' perceptions of TPR use in the classroom and identifies factors to consider when organizing TPR workshops for students in grades 5-9. Workshops were conducted in three Estonian schools introducing TPRs to the students who had the opportunity to interact with and control the robots. Data collection involved questionnaires using Likert scale questions and focus group interviews with workshop facilitators. Results revealed students' evaluations of TPR use, including appropriateness for their own use, teacher use, and peer use. The findings contribute to understanding students' perceptions of TPRs and inform the organization of TPR workshops for educational purposes. Incorporating TPRs into educational practices can provide inclusive education ensuring educational continuity during emergency and routine disruptions. This research emphasizes the importance of students' interest and the need for appropriate implementation strategies to maximize the benefits of TPRs in education.

As technology advances and the demand for STEM workers increases, libraries are evolving to meet the changing needs of their communities. One way they do this is by providing robotics education opportunities for children. However, there is limited research on robotics education in public libraries, and there is a lack of adequate evaluation methods for assessing the impact of informal STEM learning. This pilot study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of conducting summer robotics activities in UK public libraries and the questionnaire design used to assess children's interest in robotics, STEM and STEM careers. Over three weeks, eight robotics activities were conducted in Leeds Libraries, with eighty-one children aged between 6 and 13 from the HealthyHolidays Programme in Leeds participating. The results of the paired samples t-test showed that the children's interest in robotics and related careers significantly increased from the pre-test to the post-test. However, the robotics activity had little influence on children's STEM and STEM related career. This study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the need for further research on robotics education in public libraries and the development of better questionnaires that can be well comprehended by primary students and better evaluate the impact of the informal learning experience. Nonetheless, this study shows that libraries can play a vital role in fostering technology literacy in communities.

This article presents a new application of the COACH_ING model integration of COACHing and INGegneria (engineering) skills model - to career which aims to identify the potential of trainees from the professional categories to possible fit them to their major ability. The study started from the validation of two COACH_ING tools: DIRECT_ING, a questionnaire-based tool that assesses individuals' potential to cover professional categories, and Macro Capabilities (MCs), which evaluate behavioral and operative skills. The article discusses the reliability of these tools using data from 100 samples of students who have graduated or were close to graduation. The results show that both tools have high reliability and can effectively assess individuals' skills and potential. The article also discusses the history and objectives of the COACH_ING model, which seeks to define new MCs aligned with today's market demands. Furthermore, the study explores the tools and COACH_ING training methodology used in a university laboratory program, emphasizing the importance of equipping future engineers with complex and valuable skills applicable in the job market. The analysis of collected data highlights the relationship between professional categories and MCs, providing valuable insights for individual educational and career development. Since educational robotics has been integrated into school curricula, the number of robots on the market has continued to grow. Today, it is even possible to increase the degree of autonomy of some of these ground robots by connecting them to artificial intelligence software. However, the use of these new functionalities raises the question of their added value for learning. In this position paper, we compare the potential of each category of robot (traditional robot versus AI robot) to promote learning. As a result, we present scenarios where self-learning robots enable students to reflect on their cognitive processes and learn how to learn.
