systems of difference equations have very rich dynamics, which are sometimes richer than their analogues in continuous situations. We will investigate the local dynamics of such a system, using the theory based on the observation of eigenvalues, as well as the bifurcation theory. The research of dynamic systems and their behavior is important because of their wide application, starting from everyday life, then ecology, biology, engineering and application in engineering, such as traffic flow modeling, which can result in a reduction of pollution. Although these systems are most often linked to populations and their predators, because historically there were some first applications.

Gantry cranes are widely used in ports for transshipment of building materials, containers, lumber and other cargo. They are usually used in open-type warehouses, their advantages include ease of manufacture and operation, short installation time. The results of this study represent a base for future predictions for the number of attacks and ransomware strains. In the study of defects in metal structures of gantry cranes, the parameters of crack resistance are determined, on the basis of which their resource is determined. The experimental kinetic diagrams of the fatigue fracture of the material demonstrated that crack growth accelerated more strongly in the range of K = 11...21 MPa center dot m(1/2), where the asymmetry of the load cycle causes a 1.3-2 times increase in crack growth. At R = 0.6, there is already no crack closure effect, a decrease in the fatigue threshold, and an intensification of crack growth over the entire Delta K range. This is consistent with the data on the kinetics of fatigue crack growth at the Peris site.

Inspection of power transmission lines is often a highly hazardous activity, subject to uncertainties due to the system and environmental characteristics. The present study aims to develop a mobile robot to inspect transmission lines. The development process encompasses a series of fundamental steps. Initially, a highly realistic simulation environment is created, containing an authentic section of a transmission line. Subsequently, the simulated robot is designed and equipped with a camera and LIDAR sensor to inspect the simulated transmission line. Once the simulation results are validated, the real prototype of the robot is materialized. This approach allows for a precise evaluation of the robot's performance, enabling necessary adjustments and enhancements to ensure the effectiveness of transmission line inspection. The prototype consists of a robotic gripper capable of conducting preventive and predictive inspections in transmission lines.

Due to the advancement of technologies, organizations, and governments increasingly rely on digital technologies to validate a person's identity for secure interactions and to provide services for digital access control. Critical transactions require accurate and reliable authentication and verification of a person to prevent fraud. The most reliable and secure digital technology is biometrics. In this work, we are analyzing ear biometrics. Previous studies in biometrics have shown that gender can be recognized by face and voice. In this paper, ear biometrics are used to recognize and identify genders. Machine learning and deep learning are explored for gender identification. Mask RCNN and Grabcut segmentation techniques are used for ear detection, and features are extracted from Histogram-Oriented Gradient and Gabor filters and classified by gender using machine learning and deep learning techniques. The machine and deep network models achieved recognition rates of 81.48% and 87.52% for the EarVN1.0 dataset, respectively. The proposed automated system is useful to recognize people using ear biometrics.

Vision based localization approaches, be Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) or Visual Odometry (VO), rely heavily on distinct features detectable and trackable across different frames. Therefore, state of the art approaches utilize features that are scale-invariant, visible from different points of view, and are also tolerant to changes in light. However, visibility of the feature points are affected also by haze, mist or fog, which are atmospheric phenomena that vary across the day, effectively hindering the performance of vision based SLAM/VO approaches. In this work, we study the effect of fog on SLAM, particularly ORB-SLAM. We analyze the changes in the quality and quantity of the features with varying fog levels, as well as the quality of the eventual path generated by SLAM. We also show that performance of SLAM in foggy conditions can be improved by defogging the images, though only to a limited extent depending on the amount of fog in the environment.

Attachment theory is a psychological framework that explains the nature and development of human attachment relationships. Studies have also found that our attachment style is prominent in how we form and behave in significant romantic relationships in our adult lives. Today, the current practice of measuring one's attachment is either via psychotherapy-based treatment or self-report attachment questionnaires. However, self-report measures rely on an individual's self-awareness and willingness to accurately report their thoughts and feelings, which can be influenced by social desirability bias or other factors. Today, with the availability of various EEG-based features that show some differences in activation patterns, we explore whether the attachment styles can be differentiated, via brain waves activations, when participants played a simple unrelated task, the flanker task. Our results show that successful classification can be attained using frequency, temporal, or complexity-based features. These results provide a first example of the ability to classify the primary attachment based on EEG features instead of self-report questionnaires.

In this study, a Digital Twin simulation is developed for the automatic docking of an aerobridge to an aircraft by combining the Unity game engine and MATLAB/SIMULINK. Physical objects, like aircraft and surrounding vehicles, and the multi-dimensional simulations of the environment are built by Unity. The dynamics and control of the aerobridge are solved by MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulated aerobridge is updated by feedback control not only with its control variables calculated by MATLAB/SIMULINK but also with the pose of the target aircraft and interaction from the environment simulated by Unity. The data exchange with TCP/IP communication between Unity and MATLAB enables this control loop. With the Digital Twin simulation system, a docking process for an E-class aircraft was executed. The pose changes of the aerobridge are extracted and compared for the docking process, and the result verifies the feasibility of the developed simulation system.

Cloud computing has brought substantial changes to businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), by streamlining IT resource procurement and reshaping IT management responsibilities and security. Many SMEs still rely on outdated physical data centres, servers, and hardware for their IT infrastructure and applications. This reliance often stems from prior investments in infrastructure, software, and hardware, coupled with concerns about upgradability and the high cost of adopting new technology. The method of two-step multi-class classification was developed. Its essence is sequential binary clustering, which allows us to determine the order in which classes are compared to obtain improved final metrics. In order to get meaningful results seven classifiers were used: Hist Gradient Boosting, Random Forest, Ada Boost, MLP, SVM, KNN, and Logistic Regression. The method iteratively performs binary classifications and determines their most efficient sequence. Thus, aircrafts and non-aircrafts classification were performed first. Then, another binary classification was performed for non-aircrafts images. Numerical experiments were conducted and F1-scorewas calculated. The determination of the minimal representative volume for the training dataset has been accomplished. Features where extracted. The developed optimization method was checked. All metrics were cross-validated. The method was applied to recognize aircrafts, drones, and helicopters.

This article is an attempt to analyze the issue of the level of scientific evidence presented in broadly understood transport research. Various classifications of levels of evidence (LOE) have been formalized in the scientific literature and are reviewed in this article. They help assess the importance (rank) and quality of publicly presented scientific studies. On their basis, the recipient of scientific content forms an opinion on its usefulness and credibility. Not all LOEs are used in transportation studies. Those that are used are used with different frequencies. In this article, the authors analyze the problem of why more and less popular methods can be observed in scientific research in transport. The article tries to explain why transport research is currently being conducted in this way and, above all, whether it is possible to change the observed state of affairs in this matter.
