The proposed system integrates various services into a common platform for digital agriculture, linking various IoT sensor nodes distributed in the field and connected via LoRaWAN technology to collect soil and climate data that will be processed using a kappa Big Data architecture to display the data collected by the sensors in real-time and provide control and monitoring of tomato crop through notifications to the farmer via a mobile application. In addition, the system offers the ability to detect tomato diseases, using an image-based classification model. This model is able to detect leaf diseases with an accuracy of 86%. The goal is to provide farmers with an accurate view of their crops and mitigate disease and environmental damage.

The purpose of this study is to explore the contributions of artificial intelligence (AI) to Human Resource Management (HRM) through a systematic review of the existing literature. To address the impact of AI in HRM integration, this study aimed to determine the current and potential AI implications at organizational and individual levels. It analyses the essence of the HRM practices transformation, such as planning, talent acquisition, performance evaluation, training, employee motivation, recruitment, and human-AI collaboration. This study ultimately examines and cross-relate 66 papers, published in journals indexed by Scopus and Web of Science databases over a period of 6 years (2018-2023). It is emphasized that although AI brings benefits forHRMsuch as data-driven decision-making and automatization, its potential impacts cannot be ignored, including job displacement, ethical, and legal challenges.

Medication errors, commonly contributed by human factors, have the potential to cause serious harm to human beings. Therefore, a deep learning-based approach is necessary to be developed to ensure patient safety. The investigation involves three core base models-ResNet50, InceptionV3, and Mobile-Net assessing individual performances. A novel stacking ensemble method was proposed, and its efficacy is compared to the base models and related works. The research's key findings reveal that the proposed stacking ensemble model outperforms all the other models with a 98.80% test accuracy. It also excels in precision, recall, and F1-score, with scores of 98.81%, 98.80%, and 98.80%, respectively. The study also indicates the time efficiency of the proposed stacking ensemble compared to other methods. Notably, MobileNet exhibits superiority in training and prediction time, emphasizing the trade-offs between accuracy and efficiency. Overall, this research sheds light on the overlooked potential of ensemble methods in pill image classification, contributing a robust solution to enhance our understanding of their effectiveness in healthcare and pharmaceutical applications.

The microchannel heat exchanger is an advanced technology that allows a larger heat exchange surface area per unit volume, which enhances the heat exchange efficiency and reduces the overall dimension for the thermal system. In this study, the water flow rate, and the inlet temperature of water for the fin flat-tube heat exchanger were changed to analyze heat transfer characteristics, including the heating capacity, heat flux, and heat transfer efficiency. In addition, pressure drop, and the performance index are also evaluated. This study shows that the heat capacity and heat flux tend to increase steadily with the increase of the inlet water temperature and feed water flow rate. The Inlet water temperature has an insignificant effect on the thermal effectiveness of the microchannel heat exchanger. Besides, the feed water flow rate is the main parameter in enhancing the thermal effectiveness of the testing sample. Furthermore, the inlet water temperature greatly influenced the performance index and pressure drop in the design and operation of microchannel heat exchanger.

A Short Memory Can Induce an Optimal Levy Walk 1

In this paper, we investigate a possibility of the emergence of a Levy walk using a singlewalker having a shortmemory. In our model, thewalker recalls the past movement direction and compares it with the current direction. Based on the consistency or the inconsistency between these two information, the walker modifies the current directional rule. The walker in our model tends to move in a certain direction like a self-avoiding walk. For the walker, the coordination of the current rule implies that it can reconsider the directional rule. As a result, we found that the walker produced a power-law tailed movement called a Levy walk which mu was close to an optimum (2.00). More importantly, the walker could not produce that characteristic movement if it could access not to a short-term memory but to a long-term memory. This finding suggests that the walker does not need any long-term memories to achieve an optimal walk like a Levy walk.

The importance of Circular Economy (CE) is increasing for the industry, and particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who must compete with larger companies to adhere to the ambitious sustainability regulations set by the EU. Therefore, this paper analyses the current literature on the implementation of CE in SMEs, with a particular focus on the findings of applied research. The authors systematically analyze 26 peer-reviewed articles from several journals on 1) enablers for CE implementation in SMEs, 2) barriers to CE implementation in SMEs, and 3) opportunities for CE implementation in SMEs. Additionally, the authors use a secondary data-based content analysis to identify promising fields of action for future research initiatives. The purpose of this paper is to utilize the developed framework to provide insight into the enablers, barriers, and opportunities that assist SMEs in implementing CE. This allows them to identify helpful factors for implementation at the planning stage, anticipate potential obstacles, and effectively eliminate them from the outset. Additionally, it highlights the opportunities that can arise for SMEs through CE implementation.

Omni-channel distribution, which combines several distinct offline and online distribution channels, has transformed and modernized the retail industry. Based on the theoretical framework stimulus-organism-response along with consumption value theory, this article seeks to investigate the effects of IT-enabled omni-channel channel customer experience on consumption values and customer patronage intentions. A standardized questionnaire was used to conduct an online survey with 357 omni-channel seasoned shoppers using snowball sampling. The suggested hypotheses were analysed and tested using the partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) and Smart PLS software. The findings reveal that IT-enabled omni-channel customer experience plays a crucial role in providing functional value, emotional values and epistemic values to the customers. However, the omni-channel customer experience did not influence the social values and conditional values of the customers. The findings also indicate that functional values, emotional values, epistemic values and social values influenced customer patronage behaviour. Conditional value did not impact customer patronage behaviour.

The main subject considered was to design and perform testing of magnetic wheels for a mobile robot. Such wheels, thanks to the magnetically generated pressing force, allow the mobile robot to move on vertical surfaces and even in an inverted position. Various sets of parameters were analyzed by means of static simulations in the Comsol software and experimental tests in the laboratory, which were the number and shape of the magnets, their position relative to the ground and the geometry of the test surface. The aim was to determine the values and compare the forces of attraction of the magnetic wheels. Nine types of wheels were proposed, of which three were selected for actual prototypes. All of them contained neodymium plate or cylindrical magnets. For selected variants from computer simulations, tests of real prototypes were carried out, which were two polylactide wheels with fourteen and twenty neodymium plate magnets and aluminum wheel with fourteen cylindrical magnets. The analyzed wheels were set across or along a smaller or larger tubular substrate or on a flat surface. Two cases of placing the magnets relative to the ground were also studied. In the first one, a single magnet was closest to the point of contact between the wheel and the steel surface. In the second case, these magnets were rotated by half the angle between the two closest ones. To sum up, the results obtained from static simulations and experimental tests prove that the type of substrate and the applied magnets have an impact on the obtained results.

This study aims to clarify the roadmap for adopting an automated risk analysis system for the private supply chain (SC) strategy in the Jordanian Customs Department as an emerging country and to provide a clear and organized scientific approach to effectively control and monitor the transport of goods in transit within Jordanian territory through adopting and using modern technological tools such as the electronic transit trade (TT) tracking system. The electronic form that the Jordanian Customs Department could adopt and implement in its plans. Therefore, through the roadmap proposed in this study, the Jordanian Customs Department applied and used risk management by identifying and using appropriate selective criteria pre-determined on the system on a non-discriminatory basis to control the classification and sorting of incoming or outgoing shipments according to their danger, sensitivity or customs duties. Therefore, in this study, the importance of risk management and analysis emerged as a basis for classifying and sorting various shipments, including goods in transit, and as a guideline for the various border and crossing administrations based on scientific foundations and standards to target high-risk shipments from various sources, while at the same time not neglecting to facilitate the movement of trade that is previously based on Systematic and/or low risk. The qualitative methodology was adopted in this study by conducting several personal semi-structured face-to-face interviews with the participants conducting these interviews with risk managers, information technology managers, communications and network managers, freight drivers for goods in transit, and commercial partners of the Jordanian Customs Department.
