The purpose and objectives of this work are to develop methods for designing fuzzy control systems for weakly formalized technical objects relative to helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicles, namely quadcopters. The result of the paper is to obtain analytical information on the existing structures of fuzzy regulators, understanding the features of their design, and practical use. The basic paradigm of this approach is the verbal interpretation of the distance to possible obstacles in the frontal horizontal and vertical planes in the direction of the quadcopter flight. As a tool for formalizing verbal assessments, it is proposed to use fuzzy sets that can reflect the terms (or values) of linguistic variables as inputs of the basic quadrotor control model under overland monitoring. Taking into account the presence of obstacles, the maneuvering of the quadcopter is carried out on the basis of the fuzzy signals generated by the Fuzzy Inference System, which reflect the change in the angle of rotation in the horizontal and vertical planes, as well as the velocity of the quadcopter.

The purpose of this research paperwork is to learn about computational thinking (CT) in terms of its characteristics. How it influences teaching and learning through a systematic implementation of a literature review is also a part of this research. The implemented SLR methodology is oriented toward education and engineering, selecting 71 articles from the Scopus database. The results allow identifying the characteristics that influence computational thinking to generate skills and to solve problems with the application of software, block programming, and artifact design. On the other hand, how the results influence the teaching-learning of computational thinking for teachers and students to generate programming skills working in some environments such as Scratch or Snap, 3D technology to solve problems of industry 4.0 is also relevant. Thus, working on computer science principles become viable. Moreover, computational thinking allows students to decompose, generalize, and recognize patterns for the development of the industry. This is of utmost importance for problem-solving through digital tools, technology to produce ideas, and innovative and systematic solutions.

The use of social media becomes a must for almost all businesses, including micro and small enterprises. Despite the benefits of social media marketing, the feedbacks and responses retrieved from audience or customers via posts and comments in social media could be a challenge. Comments received could be negative in nature, which could affect the businesses in a negative way. The negative influence could jeopardize the business reputation, especially if the comments are highly negative and go viral. In sustaining their businesses, the micro and small business owners should not be left behind in using the latest analysis method in securing their business reputation. This paper proposes a simple website that makes use of the back-end sentiment analysis, to detect negative influence on their products and businesses. The results are presented in the form of process flow and interface design of the proposed website, made simple for the target users.

Numerous technological solutions are available to enable remote lab work. These solutions are now mature enough to be used on a massive scale in university courses. These solutions make it possible to envisage pedagogical scenarios that combine face-to-face and distance learning (hybridation). In this article, we present a hybrid pedagogical sequence as part of an applied physics course. Qualitative and quantitative analysis are presented, evaluating the added value of this hybrid pedagogical approach.

This paper explores various strategies and techniques that can be used to improve API performance in the PHP programming language. Topics covered include query caching to reduce server load and speed up API response, optimising SQL queries to improve their execution speed, and code optimisation techniques to reduce latency and improve query processing efficiency. Query optimisation for large data volumes is also considered. The application of these methods on the university server is analysed, and conclusions about the significant increase of the system performance are made.

Fairness in terms of various sensitive or protected attributes such as race, gender, age group, etc. has been a subject of great importance in the healthcare domain. Group fairness is considered as one of the principal criteria. However, most of the prevailing mitigation techniques emphasize on tuning the training algorithms while overlooking the fact that the training data may possibly be the primary reason for the biased outcomes. In this work, we address two sensitive attributes (age group and gender) with empirical evaluations of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) classification for a dataset extracted from electronic health records (EHRs) for the essential task of improving equity in outcomes. Machine learning (ML)-based technologies are progressively becoming prevalent in hospitals;therefore, our approach carries out a demand for the frameworks to consider performance trade-offs regarding sensitive patient attributes combined with model training and permit organizations to utilize their ML resources in manners that are aware of potential fairness and equity issues. With the intended purpose of fairness, we experiment with a number of strategies to reduce disparities in algorithmic performance with respect to gender and age group. We leverage a sample and label balancing technique using weighted loss along with adversarial learning for an observational cohort derived from EHRs to introduce a "fair" SIRS classification model with minimized discrepancy in error rates over different groups. We experimentally illustrate that our strategy has the ability to align the distribution of SIRS classification outcomes for the models constructed from high-dimensional EHR data across a number of groups simultaneously.

Despite increasing uptake, there are still many concerns as to the security of virtual assistant hubs (such as Google Nest and Amazon Alexa) in the home. Consumer fears have been somewhat exacerbated by widely publicised privacy breaches, and the continued prevalence of high-profile attacks targeting IoT networks. Little work has been evident to compare which threat modelling approach(es) would be most appropriate for these devices. There is therefore an opportunity to explore different threat modelling methodologies as applied to this context. Five approaches (STRIDE, CVSS, Attack/Threat Trees, LINDDUN GO, and Quantitative TMM) were compared as these were determined to be either the most prominent or potentially applicable to an IoT context. The key findings suggest that a combination of STRIDE and LINDDUN GO is optimal for elucidating threats under the pressures of a tight industry deadline cycle (with potential for elements of CVSS depending on time constraints). Such findings are useful for IoT device manufacturers seeking to optimally model threats, and educate consumers on the risks.

ChatGPT has transformed the way how education is accessed and made education more interactive and personalised;however, depending on the use, it can be effective or disruptive in education. The use of ChatGPT in education has brought both opportunities and challenges to users and academic institutes. It can make virtually all educational services personalised, automated, efficient and cost-effective;however, users and academic institutes should also be concerned about it using in education due to a number of issues with it, such as misinformation, inaccuracy, bias, cheating, privacy and security;therefore, a careful consideration should be given by them before using it in education. This paper will provide both effective and disruptive aspects of ChatGPT, and elucidate how it can be effective and how it can be disruptive in education. Initially, it will discuss the historical development of chatbots from ELIZA to ChatGPT, and applications of various AI chatbots in education. Afterwards, this paper will elucidate various advantages of ChatGPT in education. Lastly, it will elucidate various challenges of ChatGPT in education. The Iterative Hard Thresholding (IHT) algorithm has been considered extensively as an effective deterministic algorithm for solving sparse optimizations. The IHT algorithm benefits from the information of the batch (full) gradient at each point and this information is a crucial key for the convergence analysis of the generated sequence. However, this strength becomes a weakness when it comes to machine learning and high dimensional statistical applications because calculating the batch gradient at each iteration is computationally expensive or impractical. Fortunately, in these applications the objective function has a summation structure that can be taken advantage of to approximate the batch gradient by the stochastic mini-batch gradient. In this paper, we study the mini-batch Stochastic IHT (SIHT) algorithm for solving the sparse optimizations. As opposed to previous works where increasing and variable mini-batch size is necessary for derivation, we fix the mini-batch size according to a lower bound that we derive and show our work. To prove stochastic convergence of the objective value function we first establish a critical sparse stochastic gradient descent property. Using this stochastic gradient descent property we show that the sequence generated by the stochastic mini-batch SIHT is a supermartingale sequence and converges with probability one. Unlike previous work we do not assume the function to be a restricted strongly convex. To the best of our knowledge, in the regime of sparse optimization, this is the first time in the literature that it is shown that the sequence of the stochastic function values converges with probability one by fixing the mini-batch size for all steps.

Mechanical properties of structural steels are usually obtained through manufacturing process. These steels are supplied to the customer in a condition which provides adequate mechanical properties and does not need additional heat treatment processes. Structural steels are not usually heat treated because of the low carbon content. However, it still can be done and material properties such as hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and reduction of cross-sectional area can be changed. This paper observes experimental heat treatment of S355J2H structural steel and effects of that treatment on mechanical properties of the material. For this analysis, 44 hollow cylindrical specimens are observed of which 22 are heat treated. Hardness was measured for all specimens prior and after the heat treatment. Specimens with highest and lowest hardness from both groups are separated and prepared for analysis of mechanical properties. It can be seen that hardness and both, yield strength and tensile strength are significantly increased whilst elongation and cross-sectional area reduction was decreased after the heat treatment of the material.
