In our rapidly evolving technological landscape, the significance of electricity performance in our homes has become more critical than ever. With the widespread use of smart devices in our daily lives, there are both advantages and disadvantages, particularly in terms of power consumption. The lack of real-time monitoring of energy usage can lead to environmental issues and increased energy bills. To address these concerns, we propose the implementation of a comprehensive energy monitoring system equipped with a Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) capacitive touch display. This system not only provides users with immediate insights into the power consumption of their devices but also gives them control over the ON/OFF state of these devices. This innovative technology empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their energy usage, resulting in significant savings for both their wallets and the environment. With this system, users can effortlessly track and manage their energy consumption in real-time. The Thin-Film Transistor capacitive touch display enhances user experience by presenting information in a user-friendly format. This user interface allows for seamless interaction with the monitoring system, enabling users to easily understand and interpret their energy usage patterns.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly becoming a defining technology, connecting real-world objects to digital services and creating smart environments. Recent advancements have significantly enhanced human life, making it more comfortable and convenient. As a cutting-edge field, IoT represents a key area of growth alongside the evolution of information technology. IoT facilitates the exchange of data and communication across networks, devices, and individuals, equipping everyday objects with applications and sensors for efficient operation. This enables a platform for intelligent everyday items, making information-driven communication and smart processes part of routine life. Avariety of heterogeneous systems and protocols have been developed to support innovative IoT services. With the daily increase in IoT devices and services, finding and accessing these services becomes critical. Traditional service discovery methods struggle to address this issue effectively. Service discovery involves locating relevant services based on user needs. Despite its importance in IoT, existing approaches to service discovery have not been thoroughly or consistently explored. The surge in connected devices and the absence of unified standards for IoT increase the challenge of identifying and selecting appropriate services. Numerous studies have been conducted to examine service discovery within IoT. This paper offers a comprehensive analysis of various service discovery algorithms, introducing a new classification based on service types and application areas. It also highlights current gaps, challenges, and future research directions in this field.

This study aims to perform a comparative analysis of popular feature selection algorithms in the regime of imbalanced data using synthetic datasets. The use of synthetic data has several advantages over the traditional, real-life data including the direct evaluation of the algorithms without the classifier and metrics bias. As a result, we obtain a more accurate evaluation of the algorithms than existing approaches. The results-based on eight different algorithms and eight different datasets-show that sequential forward selection and entropy-based selection achieve the highest precision in the regime of imbalanced data.

Intelligent mobile robots must be able to maneuver their environment in order to reach their targets without collisions. In this work, a small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) prototype is designed and implemented to reach its target autonomously in an unknown maze environment. The UGV uses two microcontrollers: Raspberry Pi andArduinoMega. The Raspberry Pi is the high-levelmicrocontroller that uses Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for decision-making and the Arduino is the low-level microcontroller that collects the working environment data and controls the UGV motors. The research methodology was divided into three stages. First, the UGV was controlled remotely by an operator to maneuver through six static mazes and reach the target point. The Arduino Mega collected the input-output data from the surrounding environment using three ultrasonic sensors, a compass, and a speed encoder sensor while simultaneously recording the motor signals. The collected data was sent to the Raspberry Pi through a serial communication port and saved in a file. Second, the collected input-output data was used in MATLAB to train a feed-forward ANN to classify the action of the motors based on the input data. Finally, the ANN model was developed in Python language using Tensorflow (TF) and tested in the Colab platform. Then, the developed Python code was downloaded on the Raspberry Pi and implemented on the UGV. The UGV was tested in real-time environment, with static and dynamic obstacles, to validate the developed ANN model. The UGV successfully avoided all the obstacles and reached the target point.

With the increase of the senior citizen population worldwide, there is a growing need to create a technology-enabled environment that support older adults in living independently. This paper presents the development of a persuasive chatbot integrated with an aging in place solution, designed to assist senior citizens in leading healthy lifestyles. By utilizing a computational model of adaptive persuasion, the chatbot can effectively encourage users to engage in suitable exercises based on their health conditions and behavioral data collected from the aging in place system. Various persuasion strategies are available, tailored to the user's motivation and personal profile. A pilot study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the chatbot in promoting exercise adherence and explore its usability. The study results demonstrate the chatbot's effectiveness in persuading the majority of participants to follow the recommended exercise routines, and overall user satisfaction with the chatbot's usage.

Reciprocating compressors are used to compress gas in several common processes in industry. Good prediction and control of the compressor inter-stage temperatures and pressures are of great concern when operating near their limits. These limits can be encountered when the unit production rate is being maximized and cooling limitations are reached. In addition to operating limits, there are several mechanical constraints in the compressor. Prediction of these constraints is critical for safe operating of the process units. Our research is dedicated to the development and investigation of digital twin asset for reciprocating (or also called positive displacement) type of compressor machines with use of advanced pattern recognition (APR) technique which is one of machine learning methodic. Developed digital twin consists of set of models which monitor and optimize energy consumption, performance, and health of physical reciprocating compressor asset.

Several National Administrations and Chief Bureaus have started a number of projects all over the ages to lead in the epoch of digital transformation. Struggles are underway at several stages of government to recover communal amenity distribution besides expedite the application procedure. India's online digital governance and management has evolved gradually, began initially with the computerization of government agencies and moving on to creativities and inventiveness which covered the better-quality themes of supremacy and administration, namely focus on wellness of inhabitants, providing best amenities and facilities to clients, as well as openness. Building the country's progressive e-Government strategy has required learning from past e-Government initiatives. It has been fully accepted that a program approach, motivated by a common dream idea and plan, is necessary to speed up the adoption of digital Governance transversely the countrywide, national, and native departments of administration. This approach might possibly save a lot of money, promote interoperability through standards, and provide citizens with a seamless government experience by merging core and support infrastructure. In addition to delving into the intricate socio-cultural dynamics and political-bureaucratic efforts that are essential for the successful transition from traditional to electronic administration, this essay examines the opportunities and problems of e-Government. It looks at the Indian case study, where a quiet but remarkable change is occurring, in an effort to place the current Digital India Mission within the broader framework of good governance.

This research paper presents the development of an autonomous photovoltaic street lighting system featuring intelligent control through a smart relay. The system integrates essential components including a photovoltaic module, solar charger controller, light-dependent resistor, battery, relay, and direct current lamp. Leveraging the principles of photovoltaic cells, the solar street lighting system captures solar energy during the day, converting it into electrical energy stored in a battery. As night descends, the lamps activate automatically, drawing power from the stored energy, thus ensuring uninterrupted operation. This cyclical process not only guarantees continuous illumination but also contributes to substantial energy savings. The primary objective of the project is to augment urban lighting by providing heightened energy efficiency, diminished maintenance demands, and prolonged operational lifetimes. In summary, the implementation of this pioneering solar street lighting system introduces a sustainable and effective solution to address the lighting requirements of urban environments.

When arranging objects with robotic arms, the quality of the end result strongly depends on the achievable placement accuracy. However, even the most advanced robotic systems are prone to positioning errors that can occur at different steps of the manipulation process. Ignoring such errors can lead to the partial or complete failure of the arrangement. In this paper, we present a novel approach to autonomously detect and correct misplaced objects by pushing them with a robotic arm. We thoroughly tested our approach both in simulation and on real hardware using a Robotiq two-finger gripper mounted on a UR5 robotic arm. In our evaluation, we demonstrate the successful compensation for different errors injected during the manipulation of regular shaped objects. Consequently, we achieve a highly reliable object placement accuracy in the millimeter range.
