Drilling aluminum alloy, particularly Al 6061, presents challenges due to the material's characteristics, often leading to costly burr removal processes. Optimizing drilling methods in aluminum is crucial, especially in scenarios involving multiple intersecting holes. This study investigates exit burr formation in such contexts using the Taguchi method, focusing on optimizing critical design parameters like hole diameters, drilling angles, and hole locations to improve drilling efficiency and precision. By thoroughly analyzing and optimizing the burr formation process and employing a FaroArm Scanner for data collection, the study enhances the accuracy and quality of drilling operations, providing significant benefits to precision-demanding sectors. The findings are especially valuable for industries with stringent precision requirements, such as aerospace and automotive manufacturing.

Reducing downtime of maintenance processes remains a constant goal of production companies. The elimination of unexpected failures that might generate excessive costs and production losses is emphasized. The article presents the possibility of using the Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce the downtime of the maintenance processes. For this purpose, the DMAIC approach was used to analyze the automotive company's case study. Firstly, the problem was defined. Secondly, the key performance indicator was measured. Thirdly, the data was analyzed to define the root causes. Fourthly, action plans were implemented to improve the maintenance process. Finally, a cost-benefit analysis was held to control the improvement. Meanwhile, the maintenance function was assessed by an Audit Yves Lavina. This audit is based on a questionnaire that helps to analyze the maintenance function entirely. The radar diagram illustrated the low satisfaction rates;which led to the implementation of improvement actions.

According to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), family farming units occupy about 80% of the global agricultural area and contribute more than 80% of the total value of food production worldwide. According to INEI (National Institute of Statistics and Informatics), in Peru there are 2.2 million people engaged in agriculture, 95% of whom are family farmers and cover almost 80% of the national food demand. However, they lack access to technological tools that facilitate the management of their crops and make it possible to evaluate profitability and make informed decisions. This lack of technological resources leads to frequent losses, and the farmer, lacking key information, is limited in improving his quality of life. The objective of this research is to implement a web application to improve tuber crop project management in family farming. For the development, the scrum development framework has been taken following the following phases: initiation phase;planning and estimation;implementation;review and retrospective;and launch. After implementation, a satisfaction survey was conducted with 50 farmers in the Huancavelica region, where a high score was obtained, ranging between 4 and 5 on the Likert scale for the 15 satisfaction questions. In addition, the reliability of the survey was verified by applying Cronbach's alpha coefficient, obtaining a result of 0.76, which is within the range of excellent reliability.

Mechanical design analysis using technologies such as FEM, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) is a common practice in engineering to determine the behavior of mechanical stresses and deformations in a multifunctional machine. In the specific case of a multifunctional machine for the maintenance of the brake and suspension system of cars, it is important to consider the maximum weight of a car, which in this case is set at 1.5 tons (1.5T). This specification provides a reference for the load and strength analysis of the machine. The use of FEM technology allows a detailed analysis of the structural behavior of the machine. Using the finite element method, the machine is divided into smaller elements to represent its geometry and material. Then, appropriate loading conditions and constraints are applied to simulate the forces and moments acting on the machine during its operation. CAD software is used to create the 3D model of the multifunctional machine, including geometric details, components and assemblies. The CAD model can be imported into the FEM analysis software to generate a finite element mesh and apply load conditions. The CAE software allows the analysis and simulation of the results obtained from the FEM model. It provides tools to visualize and evaluate mechanical force, deformation and other relevant parameters at different points of the machine. It can also help to identify critical areas where high levels of force or deformation occur, allowing design and optimization decisions to be made.

In recent years, we have witnessed a pandemic that has had a significant impact on global health due to the spread of respiratory diseases. This crisis has resulted in the loss of thousands of lives. Respiratory diseases, in particular, are primarily transmitted through actions such as coughing and sneezing. It is of utmost importance to implement early measures to detect these diseases, as this can significantly contribute to preventing the spread of viruses and protecting public health globally. The research aims to implement a system for recognizing flu symptoms, such as coughing and sneezing, using Deep Learning techniques. An exhaustive background review has been conducted, and an effective solution is proposed to assist healthcare professionals through intelligent systems. The proposed neural network model for this study is YOLOv7. The research process consists of three phases: Data collection, Training of the proposed neural network model, and Evaluation of results. The results of this study reveal that the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 96%in detecting the mentioned classes. This was accomplished using a training dataset that includes 608 images, along with validation data comprised of 152

In this paper, a mathematical model with two classes of population namely phytoplankton-zooplankton system is proposed. It has been assumed that predator thrives completely on predation of prey, viz., phytoplankton population. The rate of predation is addressed by Holling type II function response. Remarkably, growth rate, predation rate, handling time, conversion rate, death rate, and Holling parameter are considered to be realistic, which makes the model different from those in the existing related literature. The model possesses three ecologically feasible steady states (i) both the species going to extinction, (ii) predator population going to extinction and survival of the prey population, and (iii) both the species are coexisting. To explore the system dynamics in absence of time delay, the stability analysis is done for all the steady states. The local stability conditions are investigated for the coexisting equilibrium point of a time delayed system. By examining the characteristic equation, the existence of Hopf bifurcation has been observed with respect to critical parameter t. The system dynamics is sensitive to time delay parameter and is highly responsible in bringing about chaotic situations. Further, the harvesting rate of zooplanktons is helpful in chaos control in the system. At last, the numerical simulations have been done to justify the analytical findings.

The Joint Replenishment Problem (JRP) minimizes the total cost by coordinating the replenishment of multiple items. The complexity of the problem increases when the items are subject to obsolescence, meaning that they may undergo a sudden drop in demand at an uncertain time in the future. The present article describes an existing JRP model under obsolescence of the items and discusses an existing recursive optimization process that may require a high and time-consuming computational effort, particularly when the number of items is big. A strategy to overcome this shortcoming is proposed through the definition of a lower bound to use in place of the optimal solution. Some numerical results are presented in terms of both the costs and the running times obtained. At the end, some conclusions are summarized.

Integrating renewable energy sources (RESs) into the power grid presents challenges concerning the stability and reliability of system operation. A viable strategy to address these challenges involves coupling battery energy storage systems (BESS) with the power network to manage fluctuating loads effectively. In this research, the placement and operation of BESS are optimized to reduce energy procurement costs from the primary grid. To achieve this objective, the study introduces an improved equilibrium optimizer (IEO), which incorporates simple quadratic interpolation to improve the search capabilities of the original equilibrium optimizer (EO). The IEO is tested on the IEEE 69-bus radial distribution network (RDN) across various scenarios. The findings illustrate that energy costs and losses can be substantially reduced by integrating solar photovoltaic, wind turbines, and BESS. Furthermore, the efficacy of the IEO is validated by comparing it with other methodologies, affirming its superiority in addressing the considered problem.

A neurodegenerative disorder affecting the brain's neurological, physiological, and behavioral systems is called Parkinson's disease (PD). In the early stages of the condition, modest differences make accurate identification challenging. "Bradykinesia", or sluggish movements, is among the disease's typical symptoms. The disease's symptoms start to show up in middle age, and as people age, the severity of the condition worsens. A speech issue is one of PD's initial symptoms. According to this study, supervised classification algorithms that include feature selection and classification processes, such as light gradient boosting machine (LGBM), random forest classifier (RF), extra tree classifier (ET), gradient boosting classifier (GB), and decision tree classifier (DT), can accurately diagnose subjective diseases. This kind of approach could reduce the time and expense associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) screening, as it would require a limited set of clinical test criteria to make the diagnosis. The experimental results show that light gradient boosting machine is 91.03% accurate, random forest classifier is 90.96% accurate, extra tree classifier is 90.19% accurate, gradient boosting classifier is 90.13% accurate, extreme gradient boosting is 89.29% accurate, and decision tree classifier is 87.82% accurate;it is therefore determined that light gradient boosting machine is the most accurate one with the highest accuracy. When the obtained results were compared to those of earlier studies, it was found that the suggested work provides both equivalent and superior results.

In CAD/CAE SolidWorks, a model of the grain storage building has been developed for the analysis of the stress-strain state, considering operational conditions. A typical precast reinforced concrete silo body, consisting of 60 silos arranged in ten rows, was used as the subject of the study. The following operating conditions were considered: an empty building;a building with full loading of specific silos according to the designer's rules;loading of silos with a specific grain volume according to the rules and with violations of the rules;fully loaded grain storage building. An automated system for determining the stress-strain state via finite element method, depending on the distribution of products in the structure, has been developed. After inputting initial data on grain placement in the silos, the system automatically calculates and displays data on the stresses and displacements of the building. Using the automated system, stress and displacement values of the structure were obtained for different loading scenarios. The stress-strain state was compared with regulatory indicators for various grain placement options. The developed automated system allows for the construction of an artificial intelligence system that will determine a rational sequence of loading and unloading the grain storage building, taking into account the stress-strain state of the structure.
