This study investigates the relationship between news sentiment and the stock market's return. The sentiment was automatically analyzed using four methods, including lexicon-based and deep learning-based approaches, at three levels of granularity, i.e., sentence, paragraph, and full text. The sentiment was combined with features from the calendar year, lagged returns, and news publishers, which were fed into the XGBoost algorithm trained to classify the direction of market return for the following business day. The performance was maximized using Bayesian hyperparameter optimization and evaluated using nested cross-validation. The proof of concept was demonstrated using ten companies in the Dow Jones Index, which were grouped into five sectors. The findings indicate an asymmetric power of sentiment measures in different sectors, with the petroleum industry being the most responsive to the sentiment expressed in the news. The study highlights the significance of targeted sentiment measures in making informed decisions about the market direction, particularly for the petroleum industry.

This paper proposes a series-driven catapult to increase the jumping height of humanoid robots to improve the mobility on an uneven ground at disaster sites or in the industrial industry. This research aims to increase the single vertical jumping height of humanoid robots by using the developed series-driven catapult. The humanoid robot in the existing study with McKibben-type artificial muscles in parallel to the body have disadvantages: the muscles act on the joints in an assistive manner and the jumping height improve only a few tens of millimetres. In this paper, a series-driven catapult connected in series to a human robot is developed. Its effect on jumping height was verified experimentally. As a result, a maximum jumping height of 0.35 m was recorded. The use of a series-driven catapult increased the jumping height by up to 0.15 m, which is 1.78 times higher than the jumping height without a series-driven catapult. These results show that the use of a series-driven catapult increase the jumping height of humanoid robots and is expected to extend their dynamic behaviors.

COVID-19 pandemic arises a sudden transition to an online platform which increases a huge demand of internet connectivity with scarcity of security as well. At present, due to shift of online tasks, security is at utmost important level. 5G technology can be considered as encouraging key and a strong positive hope for this due to its advanced networking features. For this, device-to-device communication can be considered as the best optimistic technology to offload traffic for maximum efficiency of network. Confidentiality and security of information are the most vital concerns when it comes to address safety issues in this new technology era. Data leakage and/or unauthorized access of prime information may lead to hazardous situation. In order to avoid this, we design and implement an algorithm in D2D communication in 5G. Authentic security review showed that the suggested algorithm provides communal authenticity, confidentiality, and integrity and eliminates the occurrence of replay attack.

The fuzzy control charts are available tools for monitoring and evaluating the process, if the process includes vagueness. The main contribution of fuzzy control charts is to provide flexibility to the control limits. In the literature, there are many fuzzy control charts that conducted using various fuzzy numbers. In this paper, the statistical base of circular intuitionistic fuzzy c control charts were being proposed to the literature for the first time. In addition, an application was executed on a data set, and results were interpreted.

In an era where health concerns deeply, optimizing the use of medical resources is critical. To address so, our work presents a system for monitoring patients' vital signs, aiming to detect possible clinical deterioration at an early stage. Our system utilizes body sensors to measure different vital signs, which are processed and transmitted through an architecture that provides a real-time visualization platform at last. The results obtained show how this proposal can significantly improve hospital care by reducing the duration of hospitalizations and the number of emergencies attended, as well as advancing towards better monitoring protocols. This demonstrates a high potential to transform healthcare and improve clinical outcomes.

The oil and gas industry is the main source of energy needed to meet the growing global energy demand and such an industry suffers from obstacles whether on the information security like attacking the surveillance systems, or on the field infrastructure such as oil spills and gas leaks during transmission through the pipelines, equipment failure, and sabotage, leading to significant physical damages of billions of dollars. Numerous researchers have contributed a great deal of work in this area, some of them worked on centralized systems which facing a number of problems, such as reliance on intermediaries, a lack of privacy, and single point of failure, while others focused on decentralized systems, which have drawbacks such high costs, untrustworthy third-party storage, 51%, Sybil, and sniffing attacks, as well as delays in data retrieval. This paper envisioned a decentralized Hyperledger Fabric blockchain using surveillance thermal CCTV cameras. It presents blockchain-based re-authentication;external safe storage adopts IPFS for scalability and hash-based data integrity, low-complexity authentication with ECDSA, and resistance to well-known malicious attacks. Our work has been validated through informal and formal security analysis utilizing the Scyther Tool. As well, the performance analysis yielded a value (0.1842) for the compression ratio of IPFS storage space.

As the world is working to both recover from an unprecedented pandemic as well as deal with uncertainty and turmoil, many refugees have been forced to flee their countries because of persecution, war, or violence. This research investigates the privacy and security of free mobile applications (n = 26) for refugees that are downloaded from a third-party marketplace. In the research, the freely available applications are manually and statically analyzed with the Mobile Security Framework (MobSF), to determine security and privacy insights. The research aims to construct application security recommendations that benefit the refugee community;and to raise awareness for the community's privacy and security.

Thanks to the emergence of sophisticated algorithms, computers are now capable of producing images that are nearly identical to photographs captured by a human. Although this technology has expanded the potential in areas such as entertainment and design, it has also prompted concerns regarding the credibility of pictures we come across on the internet and in the media. With the ongoing advancement of computers, the distinction between reality and artificiality is becoming less clear. Consequently, it is becoming more crucial for us to comprehend and evaluate the images that encompass our environment in a discerning manner. This paper aims to determine the ability of computers to detect the authenticity of images generated by other computers. Occasionally, individuals employ computers to generate visually convincing images that are, in fact, artificial. We employed various computer tools to assess their efficacy in detecting these counterfeit images. We discovered that these computer technologies were not consistently effective. This study demonstrates the difficulty that computers encounter in detecting counterfeit graphics generated by other computers.

The recent emergence of generative AI has led to a surge of new technologies that have had massive repercussions on society. In particular, AI image generators have created some major issues, such as deepfake images and image theft. Specifically with image theft, there lies the issue of getting permission to use images in a deep learning model. Therefore, we propose a threefold contribution. First, we offer a tool to provide image owners with the capabilities to mark their images with a specific watermark that states that they do not wish their images to be used for training imaging models. To this end, we propose two different simple watermark algorithms. The second contribution is a deep learning model to identify the existence of a watermark in an image. The accuracy result was 97.3% for the classification of images marked with the rolling average watermark algorithm. However, the ring circle algorithm was overfitted. Our third contribution is an open solution that can be replicated or extended by practitioners.

The emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) transformed the domain of Natural Language Processing (NLP) by enhancing the capability of machines to effectively comprehend and generate natural language. These LLMs are a type of generative AI and the underlying AI model that work behind the scenes of most modern AI chatbots. Generative AI is an umbrella term for all AI technologies which can generate original contents. These LLMs are pre-trained on a large amount of textual data and billions of parameters. This pre-training is normally unsupervised learning, meaning that it processes the unlabelled data for a comprehensive understanding of context, semantics, and grammar of natural language to generate coherent, context-relevant and credible text. In view of the significance of LLMs, this paper aims to perform a comprehensive study of LLMs, which will elucidate the historical journey of language processing and modelling, evolution and types of language models, and working, benefits and limitations of LLMs.
