The study titled "Comprehensive Feature Selection Methods for Predicting Diabetes and Stroke Risk Among Married Individuals" explores the relationship between various risk factors and the prevalence of diabetes and stroke among married individuals. The primary aim is to identify key risk factors associated with diabetes and stroke among married, divorced, or widowed individuals. To achieve this, a robust feature selection process is employed to identify the most influential factors among an extensive set of variables. After a thorough literature review, the project proceeds with data preparation. This involves the selection of 21 relevant features based on domain knowledge and data analysis. Additionally, the dataset undergoes a comprehensive cleaning process to ensure data quality and accuracy. To select the most relevant features for diabetes and stroke the cleaned dataset was made to undergo different feature selection methods including some newand innovative methods along with some well-known methods. These features were trained using different machine learning algorithms and classifiers and the most relevant features affecting diabetes and stroke were evaluated based on the performance metrics. Prediction models for both diabetes and stroke were then built using the most relevant features. The innovative methodology, integrating various feature selection techniques, advances the field by enhancing the accuracy and robustness of predictive models. The research findings open doors for further investigations and provide a significant contribution to the healthcare domain.

Culture has been the subject of extensive scholarly inquiry, approached through diverse methodologies including textual analysis, iconographic studies, and field research. Central to this multifaceted exploration is ethnography, a specialized branch of science dedicated to the systematic study and detailed description of cultures. Ethnography encompasses not only the academic study of cultural phenomena but also serves as a robust methodology for gathering insights into the nature of social reality, the intricacies of interpersonal relationships within groups, and other sociocultural dynamics. One particularly compelling approach within this field is the utilization of visual mediums such as photography and imagery. This visual perspective offers a unique vantage point for extracting and interpreting cultural elements, enabling researchers to delve into the meanings, symbology, interpretations, and narratives inherent within a community's visual testimony. Visual ethnography, therefore, stands as a powerful tool in the exploration of cultural landscapes. The document presented herein aims to employ visual ethnography as a lens to examine and elucidate the culture of Venezuelan migrants in transit through the community of Huaquillas, Ecuador, which lies adjacent to Peru. This analysis is predicated on the collection and interpretation of images and photographs obtained during fieldwork. The objective is to glean insights from these visual materials, offering a nuanced understanding of the migrants' cultural milieu and experiences. Through this approach, the study seeks to contribute to the broader understanding of the dynamics at play within transient migrant communities and the socio-cultural tapestry they inhabit.

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, the metaverse is reshaping consumer-brand interactions within virtual and augmented realities. However, the impact of different interface technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and 3D, on user immersion and brand recall within this digital environment remains a largely unexplored research area. In this context, this study investigates the level of immersion and brand recall on the metaverse platform, comparing virtual reality (VR) with a 3D interface. This study utilizes an experimental research design to investigate the research question. The experimental design involved randomly assigning participants to either the VR or 3D mode of interaction within the metaverse to ensure controlled conditions and accurate comparisons. The research findings reveal a significantly higher level of immersion in VR, which can be attributed to its multisensory engagement, spatial mapping, and psychological immersion factors. Interestingly, participants using the 3D mode exhibited superior brand recall, challenging the widespread presumption that VR enhances brand memory. As companies continue to invest in the metaverse to establish lasting connections with consumers, it becomes crucial to grasp the intricacies of user engagement and brand retention within this constantly evolving digital realm. This research not only has practical significance for marketing experts but also contributes to our theoretical understanding, shedding light on possible directions for future investigations.

Companies in the electrical sector are responsible for the production, transport, distribution, and management of thousands or even millions of simultaneous users. Smart meters have improved user consumption monitoring by enabling the automatic collection of data. However, they also increase the risk of data tampering. This paper proposes detection methods for various subtle attack types aimed at reducing apparent consumption and monthly bills through illicit actions, such as altering consumption values before they are sent to the company. The proposal only relies on energy consumption time series (without assuming the availability of personal and socioeconomic data). On this data, a multiclass detector based on XGBoost is compared in performance with two variants of a two-stage detection architecture, which first apply either a classifier or a clustering method (K-Means) to rate the presence of any type of attack, to then perform attack type identification in a second stage. Detection rates exceeding 80% with a low false positive rate were achieved using the two-stage clustering plus classification detector on the subtle collection of attacks proposed.

A 13-bus microgrid model with one VSI inverter and three PQ inverters serves as a case study to illustrate the zone dedication approach's effectiveness and vulnerability to cyber-attacks. In this microgrid, PQ inverters receive data through communications with measuring units at the border of their defined zone. The utilized zone dedication significantly improves the voltage profile and reduces communication links. While the amount of required communication links is very limited, it is still susceptible to cyber-attacks. Observation and detection of cyber-attacks on measurements coming from border agents is a crucial part of zone assignment and PQ involvement for improving the voltage profile. This paper assesses cyber-attacks' impact on zone dedication approach by the method of single link failure or manipulation on the pilot bus voltages. This paper demonstrates the effect of false data injection and analyzes the possibility of instability under this attack while using zonal control approach for inverters.

This study presents the results of the application of a survey designed to verify if cybersecurity requirements are being applied in municipal administrations. To check how these information security measures are implemented, we developed a questionnaire containing the leading cyber security checkpoints related to local IT administration. These checkpoints were elaborated based on recommendations from institutions specialized in cybersecurity, scientific literature, and current legislation. The conformity or not of the questions formulated in this survey aims to provide a panorama of the current situation about information security. Furthermore, the analysis of the survey answers by the Municipality made it possible to reveal the stage they are at concerning the practices desired to implement secure and effective cybersecurity in the operation of their information systems. Therefore, we can prepare specific reports based on the Municipality' answers. Thus, the results indicated which cybersecurity gaps need to resolve, practices without compliance with the legislation in force, and how the Municipality can mitigate the security risks involved.

In today's education landscape, the rise of universities highlights the crucial need for strong security measures to protect valuable educational assets and student information. This study delves into the security obstacles and strategies involved in creating a website for managing a university. Our main goal is to bolster website security by incorporating machine learning algorithms. Building on established research we offer an overview of universities. Emphasize the pivotal role of website security. Using the Kaggle Network Traffic Dataset we introduce a framework that includes data gathering, feature development, model selection and training assessment criteria, and implementation of machine learning techniques. By utilizing algorithms like Isolation Forest, One Class SVM, and K Means Clustering our system achieves a 98% accuracy rate with false positives and negatives. Our research highlights the significance of surveillance and adaptation to evolving threats while setting a foundation for exploration into refining models exploring advanced methods and tackling scalability issues. Ultimately our study contributes to discussions on website security in virtual learning environments by paving the way for progress in this field.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is the most effective tool for diagnosing a wide range of brain disorders. This work demonstrates how an EEG-based seizure detection system can differentiate between a normal, pre-ictal, and ictal state. From EEG data, several properties in the temporal, spectral, and temporal-spectral domains are first retrieved. Then, the wrapper technique with four classifiers is utilized for feature selection in order to select an optimal set of characteristics. This results in a new feature vector that has fewer elements. Then, in the classification step, Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), K Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) methods are used to classify chosen features from the EEG dataset as normal individuals, patients with epilepsy background, and those with epileptic seizures. Lastly, four classifiers are combined using Yager's rule as a decision fusion approach. The proposed decision fusion framework achieves an accuracy of 99.2%, higher than previous studies on the same dataset and the individual classifiers utilized in the current work.

Communication is one of the most important challenges for virtual teams (VTs). Interaction and collaboration among these teams occur through information and communication technologies. Generation gap between members who are not digital natives and their young teammates, may lead to different perceptions regarding the use of technology. Moreover, selected technological tools and functionalities should be appropriate to the organizational context, team objectives, and tasks at hand. Based on a literature review of task-technology fit (TTF) and technology acceptance model (TAM), a conceptual model was elaborated for the context of VTs. This proposed model, which integrates TAM and TTF, aims to put forth a framework for improving the use of technological tools by online team members. This work contributes to the theoretical knowledge by highlighting the relationship between virtual collaboration context, team members' attitudes and behaviors, and the performance impact in terms of technology adoption and use. It can also be used, in practice, to leverage the use of the technological tools within VTs. Additional studies are needed to test the proposed model in various virtual contexts.

In Peru, the cultivation of potatoes holds significant economic importance, serving as a cornerstone of the agricultural sector. However, the potato crop faces persistent threats from various diseases and pests, impacting both yield and quality. Addressing this issue is crucial for both the economy and food security in agricultural communities. Therefore, the study aimed to find the best classifier of infected potato leaves in the Peruvian context. For this purpose, the dataset titled'Data for: Identification of Plant Leaf Diseases Using a 9-layer Deep Convolutional Neural Network' was chosen due to its relevance in the agricultural domain. This dataset comprises 39 different classes of plant leaf and background images, collected from various locations worldwide, totaling 61,486 images. Naturally, we applied preprocessing, which consisted of three phases: Preparation of Processing Tools, Pixel Values Normalization, Organization of Dataset. These phases were necessary to prepare the data and tools required for subsequent analysis, ensuring that the data are in an appropriate format and that the algorithms can work more efficiently and accurately. Finally, different Deep Learning models were implemented: InceptionV3, Resnet, and Vision Transformer. The results were evaluated according to the Accuracy, Precision, Recall and F1-score metrics. The best model resulted inVision Transformer, whose metrics were superior to the others with 96.00% Accuracy, 96.18% Sensitivity, 96.00%, Precision and 95.94% F1-score.
