Scaling Agile frameworks like SAFe, DAD or LESS help to eliminate or mitigate risks in global software development (GSD) projects. However, not all types of risks can be handled when using these frameworks. Additionally, the mitigation practices have long-term or mid-term effects. This means that even when using the aforementioned frameworks there are still many risks related to GSD projects that can affect mid-term or short-term project objectives. This paper presents a fuzzy algorithm based on linguistic input to estimate short-term (Sprint) risks for Scrum-Based GSD projects. This approach realizes the idea of explicit risk management applied to Scrum. The objective of the paper is to analyze the presented algorithm, where some steps are configurable, and select the best configuration. Different configurations of the algorithm are analyzed using post-factum data collected in a Scrum-based GSD. Algorithm quality is being assessed for these configurations and the best configuration is selected. The algorithm that includes both self-credibility and group-credibility assessment seems to be a promising solution for the given project data. Quantitative risk management applied for Sprint allows to adapt Sprint plan to the materialized risks, control short-term project objectives and increases chances to realize Sprint commitments. The suggested fuzzy-based algorithm fits well the Scrum-context. The results presented in this paper show that some elements of the algorithm are crucial for providing reasonable risk consequences assessments. Even when the inputs of the algorithm are imprecise and based on linguistic expressions, a quality increase compared to standard approaches is expected.

In this paper, we describe the use of bare machine software that runs without an operating system or kernel to introduce a high school student familiar with Java and Python to system internals and the fundamentals of systems programming. The motivation was the ability of bare machine computing applications to directly communicate to device hardware and allow easy access to low-level computing elements. The student first worked together with the faculty mentor to understand the basic principles underlying the design and implementation of the bare machine web server. Specifically, the student learned about bare machine computing and key system elements including CPU, main memory, addressing, program counter, general-purpose registers, tasking, BIOS, and interrupts. The student also became proficient in C and C++, gained familiarity with the bare machine application development environment, and studied networking aspects of the server such as the basics of Ethernet, IP, and TCP. Next, the student designed simple user interfaces that enabled peer students to visualize and manipulate several key components of the server. This required modifying the web server code so that students could access it using their smartphones. Finally, the student designed and administered a survey to the peer students to understand their initial impressions about bare machine computing and low-level systems elements in general. For comparison, a survey was also administered to beginning college students. At the end of the paper, we discuss the many challenges involved, the knowledge gained, and the lessons learned.

Currently, the transformation to fully online learning during COVID19 encourages the usage of social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram in the learning environment. However, the social media platform has some limitations, including the loss and difficulty in keeping track of messages from instructors due to the lack of personalized engagement, the disappearance of information or learningmaterials due to time sharing limitations, and the size of the file that users can share. Today, chatbots are opening doors to the way we acquire specific information about services. Chatbots are able to provide immediate answers, information, and advice without the user ever having to have a conversation with a human. The Chatbot helps better communicationwith prospect queries and pushes the business forward. However, in response to questions that do not match the keywords specified, it is still open for a solution. Further details of finding proper answers such as links or applying elements of AI approaches should be provided instead of leaving those questions unanswered. This paper address the above issues by developing a novel educational chatbot known as EduChat, that is able to provide a personal assistant and appropriate information or learning materials for the dynamic students' needs. Natural language Processing (NLP) and Support Vector Machines (SVM) model for sentiment analysis will be implemented in the development of EduChat. The element of Artificial Intelligence (AI) supported by the ontology will give EduChat provides personal assistant messaging.

All-dielectric non-Hermitian structures make it possible to obtain unique effect like the appearance of the exceptional points (EP). A system at EP is sensitive to a small perturbation of refractive index, which can be widely used in different ways, such as EP-based sensors, optical amplifiers, laser gyroscopes and other fields. In this study, we investigate an exceptional point in two-rectangle system with varying opening angle which can be defined as a structure with only in-plane symmetry breaking. Furthermore, the effect dependance of geometry parameters has been studied. The main advantage of our geometric approach is the simplified way to experimental control an EP. Consequently, this effect has the potential to significantly simplify the manufacturing process of photonic devices with diverse functionalities.

This paper presents the experimental implementation of pulse width modulation (PWM) using the dSPACE 1104 board for a three-phase asynchronous machine (ASM). The PWM technique is commonly employed to control the speed and torque of motors by comparing a modulating signal with a triangular carrier waveform and generating a numeric signal (0 and 1) to regulate the machine's voltage. However, the real implementation of this control presents several challenges. Thus, the objective of this article is to outline the necessary steps and precautions required to successfully implement PWM in real-time using the DSPACE 1104 board, and to analyze the system behavior in various test scenarios. To achieve these objectives, two tests were conducted: one with PWM control and another without it (direct startup). Additionally, a comparative study was performed to assess the performance and effects of each starting technique on the machine's behavior. The results presented in this study were obtained using the Control Desk software. These results clearly demonstrate the performance of the PWM, validating the implementation technique used in this study.

Throughout time, agriculture has faced the constant challenge of determining whether plants are sick or healthy, which often leads to the application of incorrect measures. For this reason, a study was conducted to discern the health of apple plants from the analysis of their leaves. For this purpose, 5052 images were collected from websites such as GitHub and Kaggle, classifying them into healthy leaves and diseased leaves. Several image processing techniques were applied, such as grayscale, edge detection, and Salt and pepper noise filtering. Subsequently, several learning models were developed, such as Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression, MobileNet, and Vision Transformer. The results were evaluated using metrics such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1 score. Among all models, the Vision Transformer algorithm proved to be the most effective, with superior metrics: 96.02% Accuracy and 96.02% Recall. This approach offers promising prospects for accurate identification of apple plant health status, providing a valuable tool for decision-making in agriculture.

Although well-established air traffic control methods exist for manned aircraft systems (MAS) and frameworks are being created for Unmanned Aircraft systems (UAS), the issue of combined MAS-UAS coordination has not been adequately addressed. We propose a lane-based multi-modal traffic management system, called Multi-Modal Air (MM-AIR), which provides efficient and effective strategic deconfliction for MAS and UAS flying in the same airspace, as well as the capability to schedule safe trajectories for other airborne objects (e.g., artillery rounds). The major contributions are: 1. The efficient scheduling of strategically deconflicted flights of platforms with different speeds and air space requirements, and 2. The capability to schedule the safe passage of other trajectories through the lane-based flights.

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, as it is more commonly known, is the production of a three-dimensional model of an object by adding material layer by layer using digital data. Additive manufacturing is a technology that produces a physical model from a computer model through a layer-by-layer manufacturing process. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, 3D printing creates objects in layers, providing designers and manufacturers with greater flexibility and free-dom. Additive manufacturing technology, also known as 3D printing, has gained significant attention in industries due to its advantages in customizing complex geometries and reducing costs. Despite the abundance of research on process de-sign, control, and prototyping, there remains a dearth of work on adapting addi-tive manufacturing to *** study discusses the topic of additive manu-facturing in the existing literature. Fuzzy logic was included in the study in order to quantitatively analyse the causal relationship between the various characteristics that influence industrial adaptability. This text examines the literature on fuzzy logic-based additive manufacturing studies and explains their purposes. The studies are categorized based on the parameters and fuzzy logic techniques used. It is crucial to carefully adjust the parameters in additive manufacturing to achieve the desired outcome. To ensure a successful additive manufacturing pro-cess, it is critical to determine the most suitable parameters for each application and material type. The objective of this study is to conduct a quantitative analysis of additive manufacturing technology and identify gaps in the existing literature for future research.

It's a huge workload to label the edema area in the diagnosis of knee edema at present, based on the excellent ability of nonnegative matrix factorization to process high-dimensional data and the characteristics of less requirement for prior information, we combine nonnegative matrix factorization with the diagnosis of knee edema to determine whether there is edema and find the corresponding edema area. In this paper, we propose a new weakly-supervised method named FSNMF algorithm, by adjusting the corresponding eigenvalues based on different targets, so as to ensure the effectiveness of disease image classification and edema region feature extraction. In our paper, experiments have been carried out on the proposed algorithm to show the performance of our FSNMF algorithm. Through experiments on public data sets, we verify the classification accuracy of the proposed method is improved compared with the previous NMF classification algorithm and the accuracy of edema identification using FSNMF is also excellent.
