The combination of humans' cognitive skills and dexterity with the endurance and repeatability of robots is a promising approach to modern assembly. However, creating an assembly sequence plan and the appropriate division of the workload between humans and robots is a manual and time-consuming job. This work presents a novel framework named "Extract-Enrich-Plan-Review" that facilitates holistic planning of human-robot assembly processes. The framework uses information from CAD files to feed a planning algorithm that generates assembly sequences according to various boundary conditions such as resource capability, part dependencies, timing, and adaptability to human behavior. An expert is kept in the loop to enrich the data and to review and modify the automatically generated sequences. Preliminary results show assembly sequence plans for human-robot collaboration (HRC) as an output with less cycle times compared to human-only assembly.

Threshold signature schemes have gained prominence in enhancing the security and flexibility of digital signatures, allowing a group of participants to collaboratively create signatures while maintaining a predefined threshold of participants for validity. However, conventional threshold signatures treat all participants equally, lacking the capability to accommodate hierarchical structures often seen in real-world applications. Hierarchical Threshold Signature Schemes (HTSS) naturally extend the concept of simple threshold signatures, offering a solution that aligns with hierarchical organizational structures. Our paper introduces a novel, efficient, and flexible HTSS that employs independent polynomials at each hierarchical level, removing limitations on threshold values. This adaptability enables us to tailor the scheme to diverse requirements, whether signing requires only top-level nodes or lower-level participants' involvement. Based on our analysis, our FlexHi integrated into the FROST scheme outperforms Tassa's hierarchical scheme on FROST and operates approximately 30% to 40% faster, depending on the number of participants and the chosen threshold values. This demonstrates that, in addition to flexibility, our scheme has practical benefits through improved performance.

In an industry that is evolving rapidly today, the fusion of leading technologies and strategic methodologies is not just an asset, but a necessity if we are to remain highly successful. At the heart of this revolution, known as Industry 4.0, stands the integration of advanced digital technologies that promise to transform manufacturing and supply chain management processes and product lifecycles with unprecedented efficiency and flexibility. In the framework of Industry 4.0, the paper examines the increasing convergence of LCA and ERP systems, recognizing the significance of environmentally friendly and sustainable production and management practices. Major findings include the identification of various benefits and challenges associated with the integration of LCA into ERP systems, such as improved reporting and visibility, real-time management of environmental impacts and simplification of the risk assessment process. The study also highlights lack of expertise, organizational resistance and the costs associated with employee training as major barriers to integration. The results of the survey of Moroccan companies show that many companies recognize the benefits of improved sustainability performance, as well as the varying degrees of integration of LCA into their ERP systems.

Various models have been proposed to shed light on the evolution mechanisms of real-world complex networks (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) that can be expressed in terms of graph similarity. Generally, state-of-the-art research has assumed that complex networks in the real world are jointly driven by (i) multiplex features rather than a single pure mechanism, and (ii) a focus on either local or global features of complex networks. Nonetheless, the extent to which these characteristics interact to influence network evolution is not entirely clear. This study introduces an approach for calculating graph similarity based on a variety of graph features, including graph cliques, entropy, spectrum, Eigenvector centrality, cluster coefficient, and cosine similarity. Initially, each network structure was closely analyzed, and multiple features were extracted and embedded in a vector for the aim of similarity measurement. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms other graph similarity methods. Additionally, we find that the approach based on cosine similarity performs significantly better in terms of accurate estimations (i.e., 0.81 percent) of overall complex networks, compared to the Shortest Path Kernel (SPK) at 0.69 percent and the Weisfeiler Lehman Kernel (WLK) at 0.67 percent.

This paper presents an adaptive solution for the control of a quadrotor operating close to the ceiling. The vicinity alters the flow resulting on a variation on the effective thrust. A force factor is estimated in real time using an adaptive mechanism. The full controller is proven to have global asymptotic stability with zero tracking error using Lyapunov theory. The resulting system is validated in simulation with approaching trajectories to the ceiling, and its robustness is shown for mass variations of up to 20%.

The construction industry faces substantial economic, environmental, and social challenges. Simultaneously, the industry experiences one of the lowest degrees of digitalization. In this context, cyber-physical education is essential to empower learners with skills to utilize digital and physical solutions more effectively. Therefore, a modular as well as construction specific learning setting was designed. The setting facilitates a range of topics, such as production planning considering human and robot capabilities, (semi-) automated construction machines, robotics, sensing& actuation and more. The digital part of the cyber-physical tool-box consists of various methods and tools to learn programming languages, frameworks, offline simulators, post-processors and more. This step is essential to enable an end-to-end data-/workflow from design (e.g., BIM-based planning methodologies) to (machine-based) production. A focus is given to human-machine/-robot collaboration and appropriate simulation tools (e.g., emaWD) enabling the incorporation of human factors. The physical setting is highly modular, and each device and its periphery can be customized to a broad variety of learning scenarios and levels. This paper describes the details of the learning setting, extracts learning strategies, and analyzes selected learning scenarios and their initial testing in various learning formats.

This article explores the significance of Natural Interaction (NI) in the context of conversational assistants (CAs), aiming to model user dialogues through written and/or spoken language. By NI notion, we consider it is a grammar-free communication language as close as possible to human interaction through written and spoken language, and serves as a highly intuitive means of interaction. It eliminates the need for users to learn new commands, making tasks more accessible. This research addresses the question of which elements and constraints can be employed in crafting NI dialogues for CAs. The emergence of large language models (as ChatGPT) has transformed dialogue specification, reducing the role of producers and enabling users to configure and qualify dialogues based on their needs. The response's quality and user understanding now depend on how well dialogues are specified. This study introduces a framework, DINA, to assist dialogue specifiers, even those without technical or linguistic expertise inAI, CAs, or Human-Computer Interaction, in describing assistant guidelines, dialogue benefits, and other essential attributes for effective NI.

To attract foreign direct investment, countries invest in transport infrastructure and practice attractive tax policies. In this paper, we show with a model of imperfect competition between two asymmetric countries how investment in transport infrastructure, which is considered a global public good, affects the choice of location of a firm in one of the two countries. This investment reduces the unit cost of trade and intensifies tax competition between the two countries.

This study evaluates students' perception of artificial intelligence (AI) and compares their vision with other studies from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) found in the literature. The present study showed that most students had a positive perception of AI but that they had only a limited understanding of how it works. Additionally, the study suggests that there is a need for public education efforts to raise awareness about the potential implications of AI and develop strategies to improve understanding in this area. The main purpose of this study was to explore students' attitudes towards AI and their degree of knowledge about this technology. We also compared the perspective of Moroccan students with other students from the MENA region. Most participants acknowledged the part AI plays in the medical field but were uncertain about how AI would deal with ethical and social challenges. It is also interesting to note that the majority believed that including AI in training is imperative so they can be prepared for their future practice. Furthermore, this paper indirectly highlight the importance of understanding regional and cultural differences in AI awareness, which should be taken into account when developing educational programmes and resources.

After COVID-19, the educational environment and education system have changed along with changes in the social service structure. However, the educational environment is not actively changing in response to these changes. In particular, essential functions for providing learner-centered learning information are not properly provided to meet the needs of learners and teachers in a non-face-to-face learning environment. Although much progress has been made in the sensor-based field of learning content and mobile educational devices, the provision of functions for interaction between learners and learning activities has been lacking. In the learning environment provided by distance universities or online universities, the focus was on providing the functions of learning content. There is a lack of learner-centered learning activity support services that allow learners to easily access learning notices and bulletin boards. When communication between learners and teachers or notice of learning information was provided online, it was functionally insufficient. The remote university's learning management system did not provide learner-centered integrated learning information services. Therefore, learners who take multiple subjects have many inconveniences in accessing learning information such as Q&A bulletin boards and bulletin boards for each subject. In addition, existing learning management systems fail to provide integrated, learner-centered learning information services. In other words, the time and number of accesses to the Q&A bulletin board and bulletin board for each subject are proportional to the number of subjects taken. This learning environment increases learners' discomfort and reduces their motivation to learners.
