The paper is dedicated to computer evaluation of parameters of members of family A(n, F-q), n >= 2 of small world algebraic graphs of large girth with well defined projective limit. We present the applications of these computations to the area of optimisation problems for algebraic graphs over various fields and Cryptography. We show the impact of high girth property of known family of graphs A(n, Fq) on properties of fast stream ciphers based on these graphs. Finally we modify these symmetric encryption algorithms to make them resistant to linearization attacks.

Annotating object ground truth in videos is vital for several downstream tasks in robot perception and machine learning, such as for evaluating the performance of an object tracker or training an image-based object detector. The accuracy of the annotated instances of the moving objects on every image frame in a video is crucially important. Achieving that through manual annotations is not only very time consuming and labor intensive, but is also prone to high error rate. State-of-the-art annotation methods depend on manually initializing the object bounding boxes only in the first frame and then use classical tracking methods, e.g., adaboost, or kernelized correlation filters, to keep track of those bounding boxes. These can quickly drift, thereby requiring tedious manual supervision. In this paper, we propose a new annotation method which leverages a combination of a learning-based detector (SSD) and a learning-based tracker (REcubed 3). Through this, we significantly reduce annotation drifts, and, consequently, the required manual supervision. We validate our approach through annotation experiments using our proposed annotation method and existing baselines on a set of drone video frames. The contents of this work in short terms, is to include the stakeholders' opinion which is taken from the questionnaires. The work focuses on the weight's assessment of the criteria based on the stakeholders' opinion. This process is very useful in water resources management since in such a way a bottom-up management is created that eliminates conflicts and strengthens solutions viability. A sub-problem of this goal, is the importance (weight) of each participant. Firstly, a rather qualitative information is quantified by using fuzzy trapezoidal numbers. Two methods are examined to assess the weights of the stakeholders based on fuzzy similarities. This step is required in order to aggregate the stakeholder's opinion regarding the weights of the criteria. Consequently, a multicriteria method based on the scores of the alternative over all criteria can be further exploited. The smaller diversity of the weights of the participants is produced when the total similarity measure is used. The methods of similarity especially the method of total similarity would be preferable, assuming a two-stage workshop will be held.

This paper studies a multi-echelon inventory replenishment problem based on a real-world case study. The aim of the study is to describe the problem, understand its underlying requirements and its specific features, and to build a corresponding mathematical model out of this. The paper presents an integer linear program that is proposed to describe the problem and capture its real-world specificities. Experiments are conducted on reduced instances drawn from the original data. These experiments measure the execution time using classical solvers and allow us to conclude on the relevance of such a solving approach for this particular case study.

Design and real-time control of hydrostatic bearings (HS) demand accurate models capable of reliably predicting bearing behavior under varying operational conditions. Analytical models have proven insufficient to estimate key parameters such as carrying capacity, recess pressure, film thickness, or flow rate simultaneously. To address this limitation, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has emerged as a valuable tool in recent years. However, the accuracy of operational data measurements, used to set numerical and analytical models, plays a significant role in uncertainty propagation. This study concerns an experimental campaign and the development of aCFD model in the OpenFOAM((R)) environment. To reproduce the experimental conditions, numerical and analytical models are set using different input parameters, i.e. flow rate or recess pressure, considering extreme operational conditions tied to the accuracy of experimental data. Results reveal that, while average CFD values exhibit consistent errors in estimating operational parameters, experimental and numerical uncertainty ranges overlap under the investigated operational conditions. In contrast, analytical estimation leads to clear discrepancies, even when considering measurement uncertainties. Furthermore, concerning carrying capacity estimation, recess pressure emerges as the input parameter yielding more satisfactory results. The findings emphasize the importance of considering measurement uncertainties in setting numerical and analytical models for HS bearings, providing valuable insights for their accurate design and real-time control.

This work aims to use Python and OpenCV libraries to create a smart camera system that can function independently and help people. The suggested system can also identify absent items using the frame difference technique. It also has a recording function, an alert function for people entering the room, and an alert function for detecting motion. This project's functions include normal recording, monitoring, recognizing members, detecting noise, and detecting visits in rooms. To identify motion, the SSIM approach is employed by the monitor feature;the LBPH algorithm is utilized for face recognition;and the video writer function of OpenCV is used to record live video while the visitor detection feature keeps an eye out for new faces. Numerous iterations of the intended project's execution have been tried, yielding its own results. The outcomes were commensurate with expectations. Functionality testing showed that the features were useful in achieving their goals. The Python graphical user interface (GUI) program is utilized, and it may run on any PC with a webcam or USB camera. The system incorporates a number of characteristics that may detect and identify criminal activity, making it simpler for law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute offenders while satisfying the security demands of individuals and businesses. Only a few potential additions to the proposed project are mentioned.

We present an AI-based ecosystem simulator that uses three-dimensional models of the terrain and animal models controlled by deep reinforcement learning. The simulations take place in a game engine environment, which enables continuous visual observation of the ecosystem model. The terrain models are generated from geographic data with altitudes and land cover type. The animal models combine three-dimensional conformation models with animation schemes and decision-making mechanisms trained with deep reinforcement learning in increasingly complex environments (curriculum learning). We show how AI tools of this kind can be used for modeling the development of specific ecosystems with and without different forms of economic activities. In particular, we show how they might be used for modeling local biodiversity effects of land cover change, exploitation of natural resources, pollution, invasive species, and climate change.

A new approach to control and interact with autonomous mobile robots via a head-mounted Augmented Reality device is presented. Such robots are often used for highly repetitive tasks, however, in small and medium-sized enterprises, tasks are often non-repetitive. In such cases, the programming of mobile robots is neither time nor cost-efficient. Hence, a direct human-machine interaction was developed, connecting an Omron LD-90 with a Microsoft HoloLens 2 via a cloud-based communication. Users can send inputs to the mobile robot using voice commands or select from a pre-defined set of actions. The robot will execute the task and send feedback to the HoloLens about its position and other status information. The potential of this new communication approach is exemplified using a small shop floor where a forming machine operator has to fulfill a wide range on tasks, where the mobile robot can support the worker.

Recently, low-cost dual-frequency receivers have been evaluated in various positioning applications due to their high-precision capabilities at an affordable cost, positioning them as viable alternatives to high-end geodetic GNSS devices. This research focused on the implementation of a GNSS base station with a Real-time kinematic (RTK) receiver for topographical applications. RTK differential corrections were configured using the u-blox ZED-F9P module, and tests demonstrated their effectiveness in providing accurate measurements in diverse environments. To validate the results, a commercial module was used, and the comparison showed insignificant errors in measurements. Therefore, this study promotes the adoption of low-cost dual-frequency GNSS receivers as viable solutions for high-precision topographical applications.

Wireless Sensor networks (WSNs) are made up of numerous small, low-power sensor nodes that work together to gather and transmit data from the environment. The successful operation of WSNs depends on robust communication protocols. Researchers have developed and evaluated numerous communication protocols and techniques aimed at offering reliable and energy-efficient communication in WSNs. Selecting an appropriate communication protocol and enhancing its performance for a certain application, on the other hand, remains a substantial challenge. In this study, we evaluate the performance of the IEEE 802.15.4 Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol in a Contiki-basedWSN application by measuring key Node-Level (NL) metrics like latency, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) and energy consumption under different network densities and with various data lengths. The results indicate the simulation-based network's usefulness in offering insights into the trade-offs between performance measures and different network setups. The findings help to understand WSN performance characteristics and may be used to drive the design and optimization of medium access protocols in real-world WSN deployments.
