One important factor that affects the driving range and battery life of an electric vehicle is the state of charge (SOC) estimation accuracy. Since the SOC is a hidden state, we are unable to measure it directly. However, by creating a battery-equivalent circuit model, this state can be estimated using the model-based approach. The SOC's performance is directly impacted by the battery model's accuracy. As a result, a suitable equivalent circuit model needs to be found. The SOC-OCV relationship is one of these factors. This paper focuses on using the genetic algorithm (GA) method to estimate the polynomial open-circuit voltage (OCV) parameters function of the LiFePO4 battery. The proposed method is compared to the least squares method. The results show that the GA method can well estimate the parameters of the polynomial function in various degrees, with root mean square error (RMSE) within 1.7% and maximum absolute error within 11% in high degree.

Analysis of cardiac hemodynamics from Doppler echocardiography videos allows (i) precise diagnosis of circulatory disorders, (ii) assessment of cardiovascular function and (iii) orientation of medical intervention. The analysis of cardiac hemodynamics is based on determining the movement of blood between successive images. The used techniques fall into two categories: those estimating displacement vectors for each region of interest and those that operate at pixel level. The two main difficulties lie, on the one hand, in the limited availability of cardiac ultrasound data due to confidentiality restrictions and, on the other, in the complexity of the data annotation task, which requires specialist expertise and is time-consuming. Our proposed approach addresses this limitation by proposing a new algorithm for estimating blood displacement vectors based on supervised deep learning. Our contribution consists in including an automatic annotation step for the video database in order to use the labelled images as ground truth. This approach includes three main stages: (1) data preparation and selection of regions of interest (ROIs), (2) automatic annotation using the optical flow method and (3) motion estimation using deep learning (DL) models. This new algorithm has been validated on a Doppler echocardiography video base. The performance of the automatic annotation achieves AEE = 1.36 and the DL-based displacement estimation optimize the AEE value up to 0.013. Our novel approach holds considerable potential for accurately estimating and visualizing flow fields in clinical context. With an encouraging and a promising outcome, providing a constructive foundation for further investigation and inspiring the exploration of new perspectives for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Irrigation water quality is largely determined by a graph based on Sodium adsorption rate (SAR) and Electrical Conductivity (EC) developed by the United States Salinity Laboratory (USSL). Limits are flexible as irrigation water quality values cannot be expressed as a net value. As a result of the classifications based on EC and SAR, irrigation water quality is expressed linguistically rather than numerically. In this study, irrigation water quality was evaluated by multiple linear regression (MLR), Mamdani inference system (MFIS), and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) using EC and SAR values measured by the Electrical Power Resources Survey and Development Administration between 2003 and 2008 at 10 stations in the Western Mediterranean Basin of Turkey. The Mamdani method was used in the study and compared with the traditional graphical method. ANFIS model was found to have a much better prediction ability than MLR and Mamdani fuzzy inference system (MFIS).

This study aimed to provide an overview of the doctoral theses carried out in the field of Digital Media over the last six years. Two doctoral programs linked to the DigiMedia Research Centre were considered: the Doctorate in Multimedia in Education and the Doctorate in Information and Communication on Digital Platforms. A total of 46 theses were collected from the Institutional Repositories and analyzed considering their title, abstract, keywords, objectives, adopted methodology, type of funding, scientific publications and dissemination actions that each doctoral student carried out during their journey. The results of this analysis show that the most used methodologies were case studies and research-based design;and the most used instruments are observation, surveys, interviews and focus groups. These theses, final scientific-technological products such as digital platforms, mobile applications, models, and prototypes have been built in various areas of study. The information gathered was systematized and recorded in a spreadsheet and uploaded into Microsoft Power BI software for presentation of the results and interactive data visualization on this Research Centre's Digital Observatory website. With these findings, we hope to contribute to generating knowledge in the field of Digital Media and provide insights for future research and development in this area. Furthermore, the study results can inform decision-making processes for funding and resource allocation within the DigiMedia Center and guide the development of new doctoral programs and curricula.

We uncover certain universal features of Turing machines (TM) as operating in a perpetually changing environment which can have sudden and highly random influence on TMs themselves. TMadapts and assimilates the changed environment and performs its computational functioning in new conditions. We show that this transcends essentially Turing computability relative to a ground model of ZFC. We distil the formal counterparts responsible for the adaptation and assimilation of TM and propose they may underlie the conscious behaviour of general systems including living creatures. However, in this last case more work leading to the layer's structure of TMs is needed. We also make an attempt toward social TMs by finding the way how TMs can group and cooperate.

Carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from different sources present substantial environmental and health risks. Comprehending the spatial and temporal patterns of these emissions is crucial for the efficient management of the environment and the development of policies. This research uses clustering analytic approaches to identify patterns that influence emission characteristics. We employ clustering methods to find homogenous groups of emission sources with similar emission characteristics. We use a complete dataset from gas turbine located in Turkey's northwestern region. Using unsupervised learning techniques, specifically K-means and DBSCAN clustering, we can identify geographical groups that reflect regions with similar emission levels and temporal clusters that illustrate periods of heightened emission activity. This study highlights the effectiveness of utilizing data-driven methodologies to analyze intricate emission datasets. It establishes a basis for formulating customized methods to tackle carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Consequently, this contributes to the advancement of environmental sustainability objectives and the promotion of healthier communities. This study represents the preliminary iteration of emission prediction obtained by regression algorithms. Clustering techniques demonstrate that the prediction stage can be utilized to enhance the prediction capability across several clusters.

The vulnerability assessment methodology proposed for substations focuses on enhancing the conventional SVI index by incorporating a synthesized indicator to evaluate predisposition to high vulnerability in power transmission lines. This indicator amalgamates criteria such as operational time, transmission capacity, and line length, assigning weights based on their relative importance. Utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), weight coefficients for each criterion are calculated to derive the overall vulnerability of power system elements. The assessment involves calculating SVI indicators for substations based on weighted shortest distances from energy sources, considering alternative energy supply routes. Additionally, the methodology evaluates the load on power lines using centrality measures, reflecting the lines' importance in transmitting electrical energy. Through simulation, cascading failures are modeled, highlighting critical points of failure and their impact on the power system. The results demonstrate the vulnerability of substations and power lines, particularly in coastal and central regions, emphasizing the need for network expansion and backup power supply routes to enhance system resilience. Zoning analysis identifies regions at risk of power outages, underscoring the importance of strategic planning and infrastructure development for ensuring reliable energy supply in the Sakhalin region. #CSOC1120.

In this paper, we present a binary Petri net model designed for knowledge representation and inference in rule-based systems. We assume that knowledge and inference in such systems is expressed in the formalism of classic logic. The usefulness of binary Petri nets is analyzed as an example of a simple rule-based train traffic control system. The exemplary model was additionally subjected to experimental verification and assessed using artificially generated test data for this model.

The Flight Selection Problem (FSP), inherent in the multitude of choices offered by airlines for a given origin-destination (O&D) city pair, presents a challenge for travelers in making informed decisions. Various factors like cost, duration, number of transfers, wait times, baggage allowance, and airline reputation make the decision-making process complex. This study aims to address the complexities of the FSP by using Fuzzy Linear Programming (FLP) to determine optimal weights for different criteria. FLP, known for its ability to handle ambiguity and uncertainty, is applied here to carefully establish customized weights for each criterion, catering to the specific needs of each O&D pair. This approach recognizes the dynamic and subjective nature of traveler preferences and offers a framework for effectively ranking flight options during user searches. By employing FLP, a comprehensive and adaptable approach is taken to optimize decision-making in the travel industry, enabling the provision of personalized flight recommendations tailored to individual preferences.

This paper presents the resultsstages of a marketing strategy where various artificial intelligence tools can be employed. A comprehensive analysis of using artificial intelligence tools in shaping a company's marketing strategy indicates its significant impact and prospects in the marketing domain.
