In this research study, the intersection of cutting-edge technologies in the disciplines of the Metaverse, Blockchain, and e-commerce is explored. We present a pilot novel application that blends the advantages of Blockchain smart contracts with the Metaverse's virtual worlds. To prove that it is feasible and effective for any digital enterprises whowish to build their virtual e-commerce presence, we have built Metaverse virtualworld objects. Our application uses the Blockchain's smart contract capabilities to enable users to create and manage unique digital assets, such as virtual homes and objects in the Metaverse. Additionally, it introduces a supply ceiling mechanism in the form of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) with scarcity and value. This innovative integration opens new possibilities for businesses and individuals seeking to participate in the Metaverse economy while ensuring the authenticity and scarcity of digital assets. This research demonstrates the potential of combining these technologies to reshape the landscape of e-commerce within virtual environments.

Continuous intuitionistic fuzzy sets (CINFUSs) have been introduced by Alkan and Kahraman (2023). CINFUSs overcome some of the limitations of intuitionistic fuzzy sets and provide a continuous model of discrete intuitionistic fuzzy sets. The degrees of membership and non-membership are taken into account as a continuous function in CINFUSs. Thus, membership and non-membership degrees provide a continuous structure which changes with respect to decision maker's behavior against uncertainty. We extend CRITIC method to CINFU CRITIC method to determine the weights of the considered criteria. Then, we also extend WASPAS method to CINFU WASPAS to compute the performance scores of the alternatives. We compare CINFU CRITIC & WASPAS methodology with an existing methodology to validate our proposal. We present an MCDM application to smart city evaluation.

The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, coupled with advancements in Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs), is transforming numerous industries such as smart cities, remote healthcare, and connected homes. However, integrating resource-constrained IoT devices with a DLT remains a significant challenge, particularly when low latency is critical. Permissionless DLTs, such as IOTA, offer a promising framework for secure and transparent data exchange in IoT environments. Nevertheless, their SPAM protection mechanism based on Proof of Work (PoW) imposes a computational burden that is often unaffordable for battery-powered and low-power IoT devices. This paper introduces ASPMi, an adaptable SPAM protection mechanism that allows devices to perform PoW or delegate it to the network in exchange for a fee, ensuring flexibility and security. Our evaluation demonstrates that ASPMi significantly improves transaction validation time and reduces energy consumption. Future research will focus on optimizing the delegation mechanism and exploring alternative incentives, aiming to develop a robust system for IoT data management in DLTs and enhance IoT-DLT integration in real-world applications.

Research and Development (R&D) entails the generation of innovative knowledge and its practical application to address challenges. In Turkey, the advancement of R&D initiatives is fostered through the establishment of technoparks and R&D centers. Within these R&D centers, a wide array of project proposals is solicited, tailored to the specific domains of the companies involved. Project selection is carried out by assessing project proposals based on several criteria. This study aims to evaluate project proposals submitted to an R&D center and develop a decision-making framework to identify projects worthy of pursuit. A new set of criteria is proposed for this purpose. In the methodology, the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) is employed to determine the importance of the criteria, while the cumulative degrees approach is used to consolidate information from diverse sources. Additionally, a mathematical model is devised to facilitate the final project selection, taking into account constraints such as budget limitations and human resource availability.

The effective implementation of data science projects (DSP) relies heavily on risk management, where understanding and managing potential risks are important factors. When implementing DSP, understanding and evaluating current and future risks significantly boosts the chances of success. Current research lacks a comprehensive analysis of potential risks to prevent early failure. This paper aims to fill this gap by conducting a systematic literature review, identifying the top ten risks in DSP and mapping them to the Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS) of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide. The literature process follows the guidelines of Webster and Watson and is documented according to the recommendations of vom Brocke et al. As a result, 248 risks were identified and categorized in the RBS to determine the sources of risk.

Education and skill development serve as the fundamental pillars for individual career growth and the overall betterment of society. To effectively address the ever-evolving expectations, it is crucial that teaching and learning processes remain contemporary and aligned with dynamically changing outcomes. Today, every facet of education, encompassing traditional classroom methods, student engagement, examination practices, and assessment techniques, has undergone substantial paradigm shifts. The transformation within the education system, particularly in the realms of examination, assessment, and evaluation, has brought forth these changes. Moreover, advancements in technology have led to the emergence of Automated Online Proctoring systems (AOP) designed for assessment and evaluation methodologies. By bridging the gap between learners and educators, these systems play a pivotal role in transitioning towards learner-centric education. Numerous examples in the literature survey demonstrate how online proctoring has tipped the scales in favour of online assessment and evaluation. Driven by this momentum, we have conducted a comprehensive literature survey on Fully AOP systems. Our aim is to guide researchers in understanding the current landscape, future prospects, and the potential of efficient AOP systems for assessment and evaluation. By exploring the related studies, we strive to contribute to the advancement of this field and facilitate informed decision-making for educators and policymakers.

This paper describes the development of a mathematical model using genetic programming to calculate the diameter of a percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloon dilatation catheter for a given pressure and balloon size. The dataset used for the study was provided by Boston Scientific, and the genetic programming algorithm was implemented in Python using parallel computing. The results showed high levels of accuracy, with R2 values of 0.99989 and 0.99954 for the best and parsimonious models, respectively. The developed model can be useful for in-silico simulations of angioplasty surgery and can contribute to improving the effectiveness of the PTA balloon dilatation catheter procedure. This study demonstrates the potential of machine learning techniques for optimizing medical device performance and design. Further work could investigate the use of other machine learning techniques and larger datasets to enhance the accuracy and generalizability of the models.

Modern software needs modern infrastructure and architectural design. Cloud architecture solutions reference modern infrastructure, micro-services, and modular infrastructure. Cloud architecture is a reference for scalability, resilience, and also in terms of reachability. Services published on the Internet under the cloud label are accessible to people all around the globe. This paper will produce an Autonomous Agent (AA) software prototype capable of making decisions, giving an initial state and a goal. Many tests and algorithms have been revised during the research to find the correct approach for a suitable software model and abstraction capable of performing these features. Research in the future can focus on using Autonomous Agents as a substitution for the classical approach of cloud operations. The prototype will focus on the AI system using test case scenarios to evaluate the functionality of the decision-making system.

ChatGPT is a state-of-the-art, robust artificial intelligence language model that can be used in a wide range of Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications. These applications include, but are not restricted to, text classification, text generation, sentiment analysis, and question answering. ChatGPT is primarily aimed at generating English text, but it has also been found to process other languages, such as Arabic language. This paper shows the usage of the ChatGPT model in the task of dialect identification, specifically for Saudi Arabic dialects. Five different Saudi Arabic dialects, namely Hijazi (spoken by people in western regions), Najdi (spoken by people in central regions), Eastern (spoken by people in eastern regions), Southern (spoken by people in southern regions), and Northern (spoken by people in northern regions) were selected in this study. The experimental results demonstrate that ChatGPT achieved an overall accuracy of 0.42, which is higher than identification with a Support Vector Machine (SVM) that gave 0.33 in our sample data-set.

The brain-computer interface (BCI) is a multidisciplinary research field at improving the biomedical engineering with innovator systems for helping people with neuromotor disabilities. This paper proposes a new solution to introduce the BCI as a portable, robust, and attractive technology right in the home environment of the users. The proposed application is related to using the mental commands for guiding a 3D model of a wheelchair by following different movement directions. The mental commands are triggered by the detection of the P300 evoked potentials from the Unicorn EEG headset provided by the GTEC Medical Engineering company. The wheelchair-based simulation is implemented in the LabVIEW programming environment by using the dedicated functions from the 3D Picture control. The control of the 3D wheelchair supposes to enable the corresponding operations of translating and rotating the elements from the 3D structure, as well as to accomplish its movement across different directions (forward, backward, turning left or right). The proposed software application involved the UDP based integration between LabVIEW and Unicorn P300 Speller. Moreover, the LabVIEW simulation provides multiple scenarios comprising different trajectories for guiding the wheelchair to reach the established destinations. The difficulty levels are increasing, and the users are required to achieve challenging tasks related to controlling the BCI by correctly transmitting the P300 based command. This paper presents three experimental sessions composed of three difficulty levels, such as: beginner (6 experiments with 2-3 commands each, intermediate (4 experiments with 7 commands each), and advanced (2 experiments with 13-14 commands each).
