Genetic programming (GP) is a powerful tool for creating mathematical models and has been used in various fields to discover complex relationships in data. GP is a method that uses artificial intelligence to automatically create programs, based on the Darwinian principle of natural selection to create a population of better programs over many generations. Therefore, this study investigated the possibility of obtaining a function describing the data obtained from the research work conducted by Petrovic et al., by applying genetic programming. Experimental results showed that Pd(II) complexes, labeled as Pd-1, Pd-3, Pd-5 and Pd-6, showed significant cytotoxic effects and extreme oxidative stress in cancer cell lines HCT-116 and MDA-MB-231. Specifically, the aim was to determine whether there is a concentration-dependent relationship between the number of viable cells for all experiments. To create the function, symbolic regression was used. R2 is a useful metric for evaluating the performance of the created function. Overall, the results demonstrate that GP is a powerful tool for creating mathematical models that accurately describe the relationship between concentration and the number of viable cells. In conclusion, it has been shown that GP can be used with high precision on such examples, with R2 ranging from 0.9747 to 0.99948. Such a method of calculating values could facilitate the selection of the required concentration for use in experiments.

Spherical robots are a rather niche part of robotics. Often IMUs are used for orientation determination of those robots. These IMUs are mostly placed in the center of the spherical shape, but for different subtypes of spherical robots, this is not possible due to different drive mechanism. This paper evaluates Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) configurations for different spherical robot types in terms of orientation determination accuracy in a series of four experiments. We establish the relationship between the accuracy of orientation determination and the following aspects of IMU configurations: (A) the number of IMUs, (B) the distance of an IMU from the center of the sphere, (C) symmetrical placement of IMUs around the sphere's center, and (D) axial placement. Based on the findings of these experiments, we set up the optimal configurations for the different types of spherical robots.

Healthcare data management involves the creation, storage, organization, processing, archiving, and destroying of unnecessary data. It involves the processing of management of health data lifecycle. Blockchain technology stores data in a secure and transparent way such that it remains reliable, and cannot be easily altered or tampered. When compared with the traditional security frameworks, blockchain technology provides decentralization and resilience, immutable and auditable records, trust and security through consensus, enhanced privacy and control, improved data interoperability and resistance to data breaches and fraud. In this paper, the importance of healthcare data management, role of traditional security frameworks, usage of blockchain technology in healthcare, its advantages over traditional security frameworks, applications of blockchain technology, challenges and limitations of blockchain technology in healthcare data management is discussed. The research objectives include evaluating the effectiveness of traditional security frameworks in healthcare data management, investigating the potential benefits and drawbacks of implementing blockchain technology in healthcare data management, exploring the importance of blockchain technology in enhancing data interoperability and privacy in healthcare, assessing the potential impacts of blockchain technology in minimizing healthcare data breaches and fraud and analyzing the challenges and barriers to the adoption of blockchain technology in healthcare data management. By addressing these research objectives, this paper aims to provide valuable insights into the importance of healthcare data management, the role of traditional security frameworks, and the potential benefits and challenges of integrating blockchain technology. Ultimately, this research seeks to contribute to the advancement of secure and efficient healthcare data management practices.

Small and medium-sized enterprises face challenges in the performance-oriented improvement and integration of digital solutions in pick and stow operations, due to a high degree of manual processes. Traditional methods for improving these processes based on historical data are becoming increasingly ineffective due to short product life cycles and small order quantities. The use of AI offers great potential for data-driven analysis and optimization of pick and stow operations. Currently used AI algorithms focus on optimizing either pick or stow operations but not both in combination, missing the opportunity for holistic improvement of warehouse operations by reducing walking distances and process times. This paper targets these limitations by investigating AI algorithms for near-real-time AI-based clustering and combination of pick and stow operations conjointly. The research addressed in this paper aims to review AI algorithms for the clustering and combination of pick and stow operations to set the basis for the enhancement of these algorithms by incorporating close-to-real-time data analytics to improve logistics performance. The findings of these investigations will be transferred directly into an undergraduate learning module for first-year students to give them a basic understanding of the possibilities of using AI for clustering and combination of pick and stow operations, hence preparing these students for their first industry internship. In addition to a theoretical introduction, the concept includes practical holistic scenarios in the Werk150, the learning factory of the ESB Business School on the campus of Reutlingen University.

Network attacks endanger the privacy and security of information. As a consequence of this, an effective mechanism is required for identifying network attacks. In this study, we show NIDS to increase classification accuracy by using the feature selection method, using various machine learning techniques, and comparing our model with various algorithms to improve features, a filter method as information gains importance is used and classified with machine learning methods like DT, RF, NB,LR, and KNN, and comparative analysis shows among algorithms. The simulation demonstrates that the proposed system outperforms baseline accuracy, precision, recall, and F-measure methods. For the CICIDS2017 dataset, the detection rate and false alarm rate of various forms of assault were higher than average. The analysis shows that our analysis has an impressive level of accuracy in classifying the NIDS with the CICIDS2017 dataset. Among all algorithms, Random Forest performed best with 95% accuracy and 93% F1-score.

The paper presents a comparative analysis of performance of various network equipment providers (NEPs) operating radio access network (RAN) by fault correlation using error code. Effectiveness is measured using supervisory learning algorithms applied on network alarm data derived from fault management system (FMS) along with key performance indicators (KPIs) derived from performance management system (PMS). Results are based on the ML reinforcement model algorithm is tested with live data stream for one large CSP in India with accuracy of similar to 90% using vendor [Ericsson/Nokia/Huawei] and technology [2G/3G].

A large number of works exist in the field of mobile robot based simultaneous localization and mapping. While the original SLAM problem has been considered solved for years, there still exist various environments, use cases, or robot configurations which require new approaches in order to successfully perform the task. This work addresses how a group of mobile robots can collaboratively create a dense 3D map that is globally consistent and accounts for uncertainties in measurement data and estimates. The main challenge is a compact representation of the robot-local submaps in order to minimize the data flow as well as a fast and accurate merging scheme to create a consistent global map. We leverage OpenVDB as underlying data structure to efficiently create submaps which are then fused in a factor graph-based backend. We extensively test and evaluate the framework and show that it is capable of creating dense 3D maps of challenging environments in real-time.

Within human-computer interaction, a conversation has emerged regarding bias and empathy in intelligent systems. While existing research explores the potential for intelligent systems to exhibit these concepts, there has been less focus of operationalizing them. As the application of intelligent systems emerge in the health domain, this consideration of understanding the embodiment of these concepts becomes increasingly important. Through exploratory qualitative interviews, we examined experiences of bias and microaggressions within healthcare among 36 Black Americans and examined their perceptions of more ideal empathetic experiences. Our results reveal the constructs that impact Black Americans' feelings of bias, including several prosadic factors of interaction with healthcare professionals that influence desired interactions with intelligent systems. Additionally, our findings identify the considerations the impact Black Americans' perceptions of embodiment in intelligent systems. Our preliminary analysis provides insights for designers and engineers when developing dialogue and output of intelligent conversational systems.

Robust navigation in unstructured off-road environments is challenging for autonomous vehicles, as no paths or landmarks often exist, and classification algorithms are prone to frequent environmental changes such as light and reflections or foliage, dust, and vegetation. Humans, however, can navigate in such environments, mainly when they drive the same route frequently. They remember their environment and rely on their stored knowledge. State-of-the-art global maps like OSM or gmaps are helpful for planning but often only contain qualitative data for structured environments like cities. The proposed system follows a similar approach by mapping the perceived environment and the robot's position on a global map using local grid maps generated from sensor readings. It is shown that the global map can be used for local navigation by transforming memorized data back to a local view for path planning purposes, compensating for disturbances, and increasing the system's robustness. The approach was tested on a landfill environment with the off-road capable truck Unimog U5023.

The study aims to investigate the influence of socio-geographical factors on the attitudes toward Artificial Intelligence (AI) among secondary school teachers. It employed a descriptive- quantitative approach to quantify the data collected among 168 target respondents all of which are comprised of teachers from rural and urban schools in the city of Zamboanga, Philippines. In relation with the purpose and aim of the study, differences in the level of interest of the respondents towards Artificial Intelligence and AI education was taken to consideration. In terms of the results of collected data, it suggests that there was no significant difference in teachers' interest in AI and AI education in terms of their field of specialisation gender and school location. In terms of attitude towards AI, it was seen that negative attitude towards AI was contributed by social influence of AI, whereas the respondents exhibited anxiety over behaviour of AI, its influence towards individuals, and the possible dominance of AI in the future. In the communication with AI and situational interaction with AI, the findings revealed that the respondents were able enough to interact and communicate with AI without fear nor anxiety.
