The study explores the underexplored issue of space limitations in the optimal design of renewable energy systems. Previous literature frequently neglects these constraints due to simplifications and tool limitations. To address this gap, Pareto Front Multi-Objective Optimization in Matlab is used to examine the impact of space constraints on grid-connected hybrid renewable energy systems. The analysis focuses on power generation and key optimization metrics, including net present cost, levelized cost of energy, and greenhouse gas emissions. A mathematical model that integrates renewable energy generation, grid electricity supply, energy storage, and multi-objective optimization is developed. Simulations are conducted for both one-way (grid import) and two-way (grid import and export) scenarios, revealing distinct trends. In the one-way grid setup, power generation increases with space until it reaches a threshold, while in the two-way grid setup, it continues to grow indefinitely. Economic parameters follow unique trajectories, with net present cost stabilizing after reaching thresholds in both scenarios and levelized cost of energy decreasing within certain ranges. Greenhouse gas emissions are notably affected by space constraints, with storage costs influencing the preference for energy storage or export. Emissions decrease with increased space allocation, reaching their lowest levels in scenarios that include energy storage. The findings highlight the critical role of space allocation in the optimal design of renewable energy systems, paving the way for more efficient and effective renewable energy sizing.

The paper presents the samples of application of the developed comprehensive system that allows to check the fit of selected elements of clothing. This process is carried out with the help of the mechatronic model of a mannequin under development and a vision system that enables scanning of the human body. This system is designed to collect data in the form of basic human dimensions and provide data in order to properly set the dummy modules, so that it is possible to assess the fit of a selected item of clothing.

The prototype design of the human-computer interface (HCI) directly affects the subsequent modification costs and user experience. Design criteria should be evaluated during the prototype design phase to improve user experience and enhance the availability of HCI. To address the uncertainty and complexity of human behavior in this process, we propose an improved best-worst method based on intuitionistic Z-numbers (IZ-BWM). This method uses intuitionistic fuzzy Z-number theory extend the fuzzy BWM method, ensuring the reliability of decision-making under the intuitionistic fuzzy environment. Furthermore, we verify the advantages of IZ-BWM through a prototype design case of a ship navigation system HCI. Finally, we compared the proposed method with intuitionistic fuzzy BWM and analyzed the impact of decision reliability on the results.

Process optimization is a topic of significant relevance in the business world, since it has the potential to improve operating methods and reduce execution times. Consequently, the analysis of the current pre-operative process carried out in the clinic is a priority in order to improve its results and increase both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Based on the above, the main purpose of this research is to propose an improvement in the toric intraocular lens calculation procedure in the context of the pre-operative process of cataract surgery with toric intraocular lens implantation. This approach is specifically focused on the optometry field of the "Santa Lucia" clinic located in the city of Quito. Through the optimization of the method used to calculate the toric intraocular lens, the aim is to reduce both the operative time and the period necessary for the delivery of results by the optometrist, thus positively impacting the overall efficiency of the procedure.

Following the lack of existing studies about the applications development and use in the event industry, this research aims to analyze the use of applications as a tool to improve event communication. The methodology used includes an exploratory method. This research methodology is based on a review of the literature, a semi-structured interview with the CEO of the company and a case study with participant observation of the French start-up Invent App which provides event applications. The study demonstrate that the event app use allows to ease the event organization, to improve the event communication but also the interactivity and the participant engagement. All of this, increasing the customer experience but also having a part in the customer digital experience improvement. Event applications could be thus considered as amarketing and event communication tool. The research has the limitation to its application within a single company in France. Furthermore, the point of viewadopted is the one of the event organizers and not the event participant one. This research helped to better understand the role that event applications can have in the event industry and particularly in the communication around an event. In addition, this made it possible to understand the perception of market requirements and the characteristics expected of an event application.

Estate property is a very important document to guarantee the rights of the owners. The issue of maintaining these documents is an arduous issue. Because the owner of a property may change frequently, it is challenging to maintain exhaustive and lengthy records of ownership transfers. The problems are exacerbated by falsified or incomplete records that are difficult to track over time. In this research, a system based on blockchain technology is proposed to create and implement a smart contract to facilitate the work of the system. It is implemented on the Binance Smart Chain platform to keep estate property records and to prevent manipulation and fraud. The system uses the keccak256 algorithm to create a unique hash for each bond based on its information. This hash helps to verify the validity and integrity of the transaction and to ensure that there are no two identical bonds. The proposed system is designed for Baghdad estate registration as a case study that uses formal information as practical implementation and as the initial stage for developing the whole system. The system increases reliability and makes the circulation of real estate transactions transparent, efficient, and secure.

The current approach to upgrading building and facilities usually entails retrofitting each building separately without carrying out a thorough assessment. This method uses generic data inputs and static tools with broad assumptions. Because of this, each year only 1% of all the building stock is upgraded with energy-efficient features. To overcome this challenge, it is imperative to embrace innovative techniques and contemporary tools that can streamline and accelerate the process of energy retrofits in existing buildings. With an emphasis on non-residential existing buildings, this article introduces a novel platform based on the idea of digital twins that offers methodical assistance for building energy retrofit decision-making and energy systems performance optimization based on data collected from various meters and sensors. The digital twin leverages operational data collected from buildings and employs advanced machine learning methods to create adaptable databased models with the goal of enhancing energy efficiency. Furthermore, the solution uses clamp IoT sensors as means to collect data on system level, resulting in an automated and adaptable approach to energy retrofits. The use of the datadriven energy modeling approach to deliver building services is demonstrated with preliminary investigations targeting continuous commissioning and retrofit scenarios evaluation. Owners will expect increased comfort and energy efficiency in their upgraded buildings with the application of the suggested solution. Also, a monitoring system that facilitates the methodical retro-commissioning of buildings will be provided for facility managers. Consultants and urban planners will possess a scalable instrument that will broaden effective and systematic retrofit projects.

The so-called decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) is a new concept that has emerged in recent years through the development of blockchain technology. The DAO represents a new form of organization in which the rules and regulations are embedded on the blockchain in the form of smart contracts and can operate without central control or third-party intervention. However, DAOs face many challenges such as security and legal issues due to their novelty. This paper describes the DAO concept and analyzes various aspects from business, social, technical, security and legal perspectives. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of the concept have been elaborated. A qualitative approach was adopted by conducting literature research and three semi-structured expert interviews. From the results, aspects and guiding questions were developed to help initiators with the implementation of DAOs. It can be concluded that the concept DAO is a means to an end. With the blockchain technology, the DAO has advantages such as transparency and traceability. The ideal that a use case can be controlled in a completely decentralized manner is unrealistic. Therefore, a combination of centralized and decentralized components should be used in the setup.

This study analyses the newest ways that companies are adapting at profiting from people that are no longer alive and protected by the law. Personal rights have been put in place to protect individuals, however, with the rapid advance in technology the public is only just beginning to realize how this may be used in ways that may not be morally correct. Laws across different countries are often conflicting, making it difficult to control how personal information is being used and how individual privacy is being violated. While this concept on its own is nothing new, with the use of this technology, a lot of things are changing. The study will be conducted by analyzing a few selected documentaries, interviews, videos, and articles that at some point are related to this topic. Its goal is to raise awareness and give a deeper understanding of how this is happening, why, where did it come from, and where is it going.

This study explores the development of a climbing robot for offshore applications with a focus on mitigating human risk exposure (HRE) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics. Heavy tools are required during maintenance work, thus technical challenges related to surface adaptation, adhesion, locomotion, powertrain and control systems are accomplished. The proposed climbing robot is subjected to a field test and its overall performance proves the potential to improve safety, efficiency and environmental sustainability.
