Ensuring the system stability and minimizing losses in distribution networks are essential factors for cost reduction. However, the rapid proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs) necessitates investment in expanding, developing, and planning infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) to meet increasing demand. Integrating EVCSs into distribution networks result in a sudden surge in load, posing numerous challenges such as heightened losses, voltage drops below acceptable levels, and instability. This study proposes the One-Rank Cuckoo Search Algorithm (ORCSA) to address these challenges by optimizing the location and size of EVCSs, considering constraints and incorporating distributed generations (DGs). The objective of the problem is to minimize power loss while adhering to constraints related to voltage deviation, voltage stability index, and power balance. The IEEE standard distribution networks 33 and 69 bus are used for test cases, The basic voltage of the 12.7 kV system, the maximum and minimum power of the generating units are 2.786, 2.852, and 0.2 MW, with total power losses of 210.99 and 225.001 kW and simulations are conducted using Matlab across various DGs mobilization scenarios.

In the era of digital finance, this research investigates the factors influencing the adoption of mobile payment systems (MPS) by users, with a focus on Gen-Z consumers. Using a structural equation modeling approach, the study explores the immediate effects of key constructs on behavioral intention (BI) to adopt MPS. The results reveal that effort expectancy, social influence, hedonic motivation, and perceived trust significantly drive BI, emphasizing the importance of user-friendliness, societal influence, enjoyment, and trust-building in promoting MPS adoption. Contrary to the hypothesis, performance expectancy was not found to significantly impact BI, suggesting that users may prioritize other factors over perceived performance benefits. This research provides valuable insights into Gen-Z users' intentions to adopt MPS, contributing to the design and promotion of user-centric mobile payment solutions.

Social robotics is increasingly used in healthcare and wellbeing scenarios, addressing various care needs. Evaluating these robots on a large scale involves challenges, such as transporting and deploying physical robots and adapting their behavior in the field. This paper proposes a web-based infrastructure for evaluating SHARA, a social robot aiding elderly people. This system helps developers and stakeholders overcome evaluation limitations by using a semi-automatic Wizard of Oz (WoZ) approach. The WoZ operator can observe the simulated robot behavior and intervene if necessary, enabling a flexible human-in-the-loop control. The infrastructure streamlines the iterative evaluation and improvement of care services, allowing simulation-based feedback on robot interfaces and user interactions before physical implementation. This approach reduces costs and clarifies user and system requirements. An expert panel evaluation highlighted the system's potential, particularly praising the evaluation approach and the accessibility of the web-based simulation. This paper outlines the infrastructure's architecture and implementation, providing a foundation for future developments in social robotics evaluation and design.

Due to the shortening of product life cycles, increased product variety and sinking product prices, it is of paramount importance for industries to deploy flexible and adaptive production solutions to increase their resilience. Robotic systems, which are capable of executing a broad range of tasks, play a crucial role in achieving such a resilience, and their application fields will expand even further. Particularly, mobile manipulators as a combination between mobile platforms and robotic arms ensure even greater flexibility with respect to robots which are not mounted over a mobile base due to their redundancy, which entails infinite possible ways to plan/execute a motion (kinematic redundancy), of integrating them in the industrial processes and of perceiving the surrounding environment (sensoric redundancy). In this paper such a redundancy is analyzed under a unified framework, where the mobile base is modeled with an equivalent serial kinematic structure and, consequently, the hybrid robot is considered as a serial redundant manipulator, named Redundant Hybrid Robot.

Over the last decade, numerous cutting-edge technologies have emerged, triggering unprecedented progress in both physical and cyber systems. Amongthese technologies, connected devices are increasingly integrated into various environments for monitoring and data collection purposes. Missing data imputation remains one of the main challenges in applications utilizing these devices, leading to imprecision of the derived insights and inefficiency of related systems. Recently, numerous machine learning methods and techniques have been proposed to address this challenge. However, these solutions often rely on the use of historical data or the use of records of other features that are highly correlated with the feature containing the missing value. These approaches often overlook large subsequences of missing values as well as missing values in correlated features. This study proposes a new approach to address the missing data issue, assuming that data are collected in several locations. The approach utilizes historical values of the corresponding feature from other locations where data have been recorded with no missing values. One of the aims of this study is to conduct the data imputation process at the edge level, considering the limitations in processing capabilities of edge devices. Several popular lightweight machine learning and deep learning algorithms have been compared in terms of inference time and accuracy.

This study introduces a hybrid technique that combines the Crow Search Algorithm (CSA) with Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) from reinforcement learning for feature selection in large datasets. The integration of PPO allows the algorithm to adapt and learn during its execution, thereby improving efficiency and accuracy in identifying relevant attributes. We evaluate the effectiveness of this hybrid approach using the Parkinson's Disease Classification (PDC) dataset. Our computational results demonstrate promising improvements in solution quality, convergence speed, and reduction in execution time, especially in high-dimensional environments. This work not only highlights the feasibility of combining bioinspired algorithms with reinforcement learning techniques but also opens new avenues for optimizing feature selection processes in machine learning.

The Circular Spherical Fuzzy Set (C-SFS) idea, an expansion of the C-SFS, is introduced in this article. We also introduce the innovative extension of C-SFSs known as Disc Spherical Fuzzy Sets (D-SFSs). Both C-SFSs and D-SFSs are made up of radially curved Spherical fuzzy values. In the study, basic algebraic and mathematical operations, are established for D-SFSs. The study also suggests the characteristics of innovative D-SF weighted average and geometric aggregation operators. We use the D-SF CODAS approach for multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) in this situation. With the help of this study, circular and D-SFSs will be more widely utilized in decision support systems and related fields.

This project endeavors to support pilgrims, health volunteers, and paramedics through the implementation of an application named MYPARAMEDIC, seamlessly integrated with a smart bracelet for real-time vital signs monitoring. The Hajj season poses challenges for paramedics, including a high patient volume, overcrowding, and a lack of official channels to report critical cases, increasing the risk to patients' lives. The MYPARAMEDIC application is intricately linked to a smart bracelet that continuously records vital signs. In the event of a patient's vital signs exceeding the normal range, the bracelet promptly notifies paramedics via the app, providing the patient's location along with the vital sign details. MYPARAMEDIC also incorporates an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot formedical advice, a manual alert feature allowing pilgrims to request paramedic assistance, and information about nearby health centers. This comprehensive solution aims to alleviate the burden on paramedics, facilitate quick patient diagnosis, and enhance overall safety during the pilgrimage.

This paper proposes and explores an approach to learning cloud-based collaborative design in the framework of a new course that introduces engineering students to Industry 4.0. The approach was implemented in the course workshop and was featured by active learning in the FabLab space, the use of the new SaaS CAD platform Onshape, and a challenging collaborative assignment prompting prototype-redesign iterations. We conducted an exploratory case study that evaluated the proposed approach regarding the workshop learning outcomes and the use of the data analytics tools of Onshape. The participants were 18 junior and senior engineering students majoring in mechanical engineering. We collected the educational research data using pre-course and post-workshop questionnaires as well as using the data analytics tools of the Onshape Education Enterprise. Most students highly evaluated the workshop's contribution to fostering their skills in design collaboration, 3D printing, and engineering problem-solving. The data analytics tools of OEE supported the findings from student reflections and provided objective evidence of design, collaboration, and communication processes that occurred in student teams. The researchers considered this study as a step towards the development of the methodology for cloud-based collaborative design education.

Improving the performance of machine learning approaches in the field of health is of the utmost importance because early and correct diagnosis and treatment of diseases are essential for human life. From this point of view, an ensemble machine learning approach has been proposed for the diagnosis of heart disease within the scope of this study. In the first step of the proposed approach, feature extraction is performed using the Convolutional Neural Network on the dataset. In the next step, prediction results are obtained using individual classification methods such as Multi-layer Perceptron, Support Vector Machine, and Random Forest. Finally, the obtained prediction results are combined using the majority voting method. The results which are compared according to the critical classification performance criteria show that the proposed ensemble method gives better results than the individual methods. Heart disease can be predicted with an accuracy of 86.4% with the proposed ensemble approach.
