The Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a multidisciplinary research field aimed at the assistance of people with neuromotor disabilities. This paper presents a new LabVIEW based BCI that should help disabled people to access the Internet by searching a video in YouTube, looking for a person in Facebook, opening a new email, or finding out significant information in Google. These people can achieve such tasks by wearing a GTEC Unicorn EEG headset and focus their sight to the P300 Speller board. This BCI application needs to be user friendly and cost effective. This way the disabled people could benefit of a higher degree of independence because they can communicate by the Internet and leverage the web resources like everyone else. The proposed BCI application consists of the UDP communication protocol employed in LabVIEW to enable the integration of the Unicorn P300 Speller board and the LabVIEW virtual instrument aimed at generating the Internet commands. Then, they should use the official GTEC P300 Speller board that randomly displays different palettes with various flashing symbols. The users need to focus their attention and sight to a single symbol so that they can mentally count all the displayed flashing lights. A symbol is chosen by the P300 Speller board based on the user selection. The UDP packet is sent to LabVIEW application, which is programmed to process these UDP data and link the user selection with the Internet command (search information by Google, search video by YouTube, search person by Facebook, open new email).

Companies should choose competitive markets for their products to maximize the efficiency of their resources. The younger generation has increasing demands for personalized products. The way their needs are met and understanding their consumer behaviors should allow companies to continuously analyze trends within the target group. In the current era of globalization, the Internet, and Big Data, using traditional methods alone may lead to companies selecting the wrong markets, resulting in significant financial and resource losses. Therefore, this article proposes the utilization of machine learning and CART for modeling customer needs to facilitate market segmentation among the younger generation, focusing on young individuals studying in the IT field. Implementing such modeling in practice can contribute to optimizing decision-making, minimizing financial losses, and resource efficiency. The study analyzed the needs of 1149 individuals aged 16-19 in the Wielkopolska region. The developed results provide an explanation of the "high salary" and "low salary" values in the form of a decision tree. Additionally, a spatial distribution map of expected salaries was visualized using the CART model. The extracted rules, which can be explicitly interpreted for each terminal node of the CART model, not only allow for spatial differentiation of the model but, most importantly, enable understanding of the motivations driving the survey respondents. The conducted research demonstrated that to comprehend the motivations of the surveyed individuals, it is crucial to consider several completely different independent variables in the process of modeling the spatial distribution of expected remuneration, including economic parameters. The conducted analyses have shown that machine learning and AI have broad applications in marketing, including customer and market segmentation.

Our current pace of life revolves around an era with demands and needs based on technology, within these needs is methodological innovation in higher education, since traditional teaching structures show demotivation and low level of participation in students, who are considered digital natives. This article aims to demonstrate the positive influence of the implementation of gamification as a learning strategy with the support of technological resources such as Kahoot, Genially and Canvas to achieve progress on the students' learning. The instruments used were first a survey whose content validity of the instrument was verified with an average of 0.9 of "V of Aiken" coefficient, in which 5 experts evaluated the clarity, relatedness and relevance of the items, and for internal consistency, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was applied, obtaining a value of 0.908. Then, a pre and posttest was employed to measure the leadership skills based on Whetter & Cameron model. The experiment consisted of 5 interventions with gamification resources (rewards, points, progression, challenges, among others.) for the development of leadership skills (decision making, leadership, knowledge) in the students at Administrative Sciences Faculty of the Technical University of Ambato to form in them the ideal profile of a manager who meets the socio-labor demands of their context. Finally, through a TAMquestionnaire, students obtained positive trends in the level of 92% of acceptance and satisfaction.

This paper presents the development of a camera-based sensor system for the real-time monitoring of an off-street parking area, whereby each parking spot of this area is separately observed. In contrast to commercially available ground sensors, the position of a spot has not to be predefined, as it is identified automatically after a few parking processes during the system setup phase. Therefore, the system is also suitable for parking areas with variable positions and sizes of spots, for instance on road edges (on-street parking) or unsurfaced off-street parking areas without colored marking. The algorithms of the system are efficiently designed for the specific purpose of parking monitoring, so no high-level hardware like a graphics processing unit (GPU) is required. Instead, the system components are a small single-board computer (Raspberry Pi 4 B) and an USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable camera with a standard resolution (at least 640 x 480 pixels) as well as a zoom lens and an infrared emitter for spot focusing and night vision. To evaluate the reliability of the developed monitoring system, a field test with two different ground sensors on the same parking spot was conducted for several weeks. The experimental results, which are presented in the end of this paper, showthat the systemworks reliably in different situations and usually reacts faster than the proven ground sensors.

In this paper an innovative collaborative online platform, the Research to Practice platform (R2P), developed in the context of the EU funded project Knowledge Alliances for Evidence-Based Urban Practices (KAEBUP), is presented. The platform attempts to eliminate research and institutional barriers in educational urban studies cultures through the development and use of digital resources, structured under Collaborative Learning Activities, a novel concept proposed in a previous research project Emerging Perspectives on Urban Morphology (EPUM), and further developed in this project. The CLAs methodology implements a collaboration approach through the R2P platform, designed to meet the objectives of the higher education institutions (HEIs) in theirmission to ensure that architectural and urban design students complete their studies with the skills to enter the professional world on the one hand, and to influence, innovate and support practice through their research work on the other. All participating organisations play an active role in the design of the CLAs and the platform, where learning involves co-construction and co-evolution of knowledge among partners. CLAs offer an innovative way for collaboration between academia, research, and practice/entrepreneurs, aiming at eventually creating and formulating an online community of practice, where the active membership of learners, teachers and practitioners will facilitate an educational social praxis.
