The continuously developing education system requires teachers to make innovative solutions in teaching, including the issue of analyzing the results of students' performance. To discover the effectiveness of learning activity it is necessary to track and record the results of learning activity, to choose a suitable toolkit for these purposes among the variety of analysis methods. The ability to interpret and visualize the results of students' performance is one of the main tasks of a university teacher. This paper attempts to visualize the analysis of student performance results using Japanese candlesticks, which can be used not only in finance and economics, but also in education. Japanese candlestick analysis is fully informative, visual and accessible, thanks to which it is possible to make individual diagnostics of positive or negative changes in students' performance, to consider their individual potentials, to see ups and downs, to formulate possible reasons for obtaining certain scores, and in accordance with this to adjust the educational process, to build individual educational trajectories. Visualization of students' performance results, which is provided by means of candlestick chart analysis, positively affects both self-organization, self-determination and motivation of students, and the work of the teacher from the methodological point of view. In this paper, candlestick charts were made for two students who were able to clearly visualize their performance results for further research into the patterns and features of learning activity of both a particular student and the educational process as a whole. #CSOC1120.

In this paper, we introduce an algorithm for determining the grammatical validity of a sentence in polynomial time. The algorithm works by encoding the English words based on word type which we call components. A sentence can be described both algebraically and geometrically. Our algorithm generates the geometric portion called underlinks from the generalized reductions of the algebraic portion. Underlinks uniquely determine the reduction of the components leading to the empty string. This is the mathematical basis for determining if a sentence is valid. We also provide a proof for the algorithm's time complexity of O(n(2)) along with a Python implementation. This paper is part of a bigger project where we explore the combination of a sentence's grammar and meaning. This is done by combining two compact closed categories;pregroups represent the grammar of a sentence, and finite dimensional vector spaces describe the meaning of a sentence. Together one compact closed category is created, representing both aspects of the sentence.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in autonomous operations is an emerging technology with growing applications in several areas, such as agriculture, search and rescue (SaR), and even space exploration. The take-off and particular landing are some of the critical parts of operation. This paper proposes a landing site selection and control algorithm for an autonomous multirotor UAV. The goal is to land the UAV in safe locations as close as possible to a Point of Interest (PoI), mainly in unknown and unsafe terrains. The Landing Site Selection (LSS) algorithm uses terrain features from a 3D pointcloud, Support Vector Machines (SVM) to classify landing safety, and a cost function to compute the best landing site. The algorithm can be used both offline with a 3D map and online with data from a depth sensor. The states of the landing procedure are handled by a high-level state machine and velocity controllers control the UAV. LSS was tested using 3D maps of real scenarios and data from depth camera mounted on a real UAV, and the full autonomous landing system was tested in a simulated environment.

Disaster management is a critical field that plays a pivotal role in assessing and planning for earthquake risks to enhance community resilience. In this context, spherical fuzzy method has emerged as an effective tool for improving decision-making processes in complex and uncertain environments. In this study, SF-Critic fuzzy TOPSIS methods are used for the optimization of expert opinions in prioritizing major post-earthquake risks. The case study consists of three main and nine sub-criteria and five decision makers for prioritizing earthquake risks and necessary planning studies. In the evaluation of these criteria, various parameters ranging from urban landscape, road planning, industrial settlements, evacuation plans, energy and communication networks and infrastructure are used.

This research work presents a comprehensive approach to predicting merchandise sales in the rapidly growing E-sports industry. Utilizing a rich dataset for data analytics, comprising of over 450 games' historical records, including the number of players, earnings, tournaments count, and merchandise profit, robust Machine Learning models were developed to forecast future merchandise sales. We employed several regression techniques, including the Huber Regressor, CatBoost, and HistGradientBoostingRegressor, each providing unique benefits. The Huber Regressor excelled in handling outliers, ensuring the model did not overfit. CatBoost handled categorical variables effectively, while Hist-GradientBoosting Regressor demonstrated high performance with large datasets. Furthermore, the models were tuned using a combination of hyperparameter optimization and cross-validation methods. Our Huber Regressor model, after tuning with an optimal epsilon of 1.0, achieved a nearly perfect R2 score. However, due to the risk of overfitting, cross-validation was used, yielding a Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of approximately 0.0025, indicating high precision. The CatBoostRegressor model, while not as precise as the Huber Regressor, was notable for its flexibility in handling categorical variables. After tuning and cross-validation, the model yielded an R2 score of approximately 0.42. TheHistGradientBoosting Regressor model also performed well with an R2 score of 0.776 on the test set, indicating a good fit to the data. These models, through careful data pre-processing and tuning, demonstrated the potential to accurately predict merchandise sales, enabling stakeholders to optimize revenue generation. We also conducted scientific analyses using LIME, SHAP, and ELI5 to gain in-depth insights into the data. This work underscores the value of utilizing machine learning and statistical testing for decision-making, offering insights and recommendations for driving revenue growth in the E-sport

Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning argues that production replenishment orders should be scheduled on the shop floor according to the buffers' on-hand inventory. However, the actual performance impact of this remains largely unknown. Using discrete event simulation, this study compares scheduling based on the on-hand inventory, with scheduling based on the inventory net flow position. Results of our study show that scheduling based on the former performs best, particularly when multiple production orders are simultaneously generated and progress independently on the shop floor. Our finds give hints that are important to both, industrial practice and software development for production planning and control.

In the realm of scholarly inquiry, the domain of e-government development and its concomitant impact assessment has consistently garnered substantial attention. Notably, various international entities have devised a framework known as the "ElectronicGovernment Development Index" (EGDI) for evaluating the advancement of electronic governance. Nevertheless, these indices have faced considerable critique within the academic community. In this study, we extend upon the foundation laid by extant international indices and construct a novel index. Our approach involves the incorporation of novel, context-specific components, enhancing the precision of e-government measurement at the regional level. The subcriteria derived from this novel model exhibit favorable correlations, thereby affirming the robustness and credibility of our novel framework. It is imperative to underscore that our research primarily centers on the case study of Georgia. Additionally, our article takes a novel regional perspective in exploring the current landscape of e-government development. We provide a comprehensive analysis of various components to present an overall view and introduce an innovative approach to e-government measurement in the academic realm. Furthermore, our paper sheds light on the potential and characteristics of implementing and advancing e-government initiatives at the regional level. The comprehensive research, analysis, conclusions, results, and general insights into regional e-governance presented in this study hold significance not only for developing countries but also for developed countries as well.

Multilevel inverters play a crucial role in energy conversion and power electronics applications. However, the harmonics generated during the operation of such inverters can harm electrical grids and reduce system efficiency. Therefore, effectively controlling and eliminating harmonics is critical to enhancing the performance of multilevel inverters. This study focuses on achieving selective harmonic elimination (SHE) in multilevel inverters using the Bonobo Optimization Algorithm (BO). The BO algorithm draws inspiration from the social behaviors of bonobo monkeys and is an artificial intelligence algorithm. It employs evolutionary approaches to solve complex problems and offers a population-based approach to optimizing the target function. The application of the BO algorithm for seven- and eleven-level inverters is compared to the genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO). The results demonstrate that BO provides a more effective harmonic elimination solution than GA and PSO. With this algorithm, it becomes possible to maintain harmonic levels below a specified threshold while improving the overall performance and efficiency of the inverter. In conclusion, this study successfully applies the BO algorithm for selective harmonic elimination in multilevel inverters, contributing significantly to future energy conversion and power electronics research. This approach has the potential to assist in making energy systems cleaner, more reliable, and more efficient.

In drilling operations, the Rate of Penetration directly impacts drilling efficiency. Accurately predicting this rate is crucial as it affects the cost-effectiveness of the process. In this study, ensemble machine learning models such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Adaptive Boosting, and K-Nearest Neighbor were used to predict ROP using a Volve dataset from the NorwegianNorth Sea provided by Equinor Company. To simulate real-world scenarios, especially in cases with limited amounts of data, we utilized sequential data or depth-dependent data to trained and tested various machine learning models using sequential split such as continuous learning and sliding window split techniques. The model's performances were evaluated by calculating mean absolute error. The results of this study showed that the ensemble machine learning models, especially ExtremeGradient Boostingwith sliding window split technique outperformed in predicting the Rate of Penetration. Moreover, the various sizes of the sliding window were studied to find the optimal size.

Mute Mate is a lip-reading system that has been developed to aid mute individuals during online conferences. With the rising popularity of virtual and remote communication, the need to address the communication challenges faced by those who cannot vocalize their thoughts becomes crucial. Mute Mate utilizes advanced machine learning and computer vision techniques to accurately interpret lip movements in real time, offering an efficient communication method. A diverse dataset was used to train and evaluate Mute Mate, encompassing various lip movements captured under different scenarios to ensure adaptability. The methodology combines computer vision and machine learning approaches, employing lip detection algorithms, feature extraction techniques, and deep learning models to classify lip movements and convert them into text. The experimental results demonstrated that the system's accuracy and performance surpassed the baseline methods and existing lip-reading systems after fine tuning. Mute Mate holds a promise for empowering mute individuals by bridging the communication gap in online conferences, potentially revolutionizing communication accessibility in various domains.
