Complex procedural knowledge and tacit knowledge are hard to assess and practice constructs. In this paper, we demonstrate the application of autonomous multi-agent simulations to assess teacher's classroom management skills. We developed a visual virtual environment within which virtual agents mimic students. These agents act and interact autonomously with each other. Human teachers are requested to interfere on the basis of a pre-defined set of actions to optimize the simulated study time and happiness of the agents. This paper presents analyses of systematically configured simulation runs to elucidate the simulation characteristics and to evaluate the rationality and credibility of the simulations.

Despite the fact that QR codes are all around us, they do not easily find their way into the classroom, so it seems more than relevant to investigate the current situation. This paper describes the findings from a scoping literature review of the research published during the last decade on using QR Codes as a digital tool in STEM education. This review aims at providing a better understanding of the advantages and shortcomings of using QR Codes in STEM subjects, exploring some of the essential characteristics of the reviewed studies, like the targeted ages, the learning outcomes, the methodological approach, etc. Based on this review's findings, we can propose some points for future research concerning using QR codes in education, like the reasons for the observed decrease in research interest in recent years or a shift in the investigation towards the teachers' views and acceptance of this technology. Moreover, there seems to be a need for in-depth investigations exploring the pedagogical aspects of this technology. The above findings are considered valuable not only for the application of QR codes but can be projected to m-learning in general.

In mainstream sport there are several issues regarding gender equality and acceptance of several minority members such as LGBTQI+ members, elders or even disabled. The Inclusion in Sport (iSport) project plans to educate sporting event organizers on how to take more inclusive decisions. For this purpose, a narrative based, two-dimensional serious game was designed and developed. During the game the player has to answer quizzes that either make them rate incidents they encountered while playing the game or decide as if they were event organizers themselves. Each answer provides them with a certain number of points according to its correctness. They can compare their score with others in the leaderboard's scene, that help them be more engaged and motivated to participate. In that direction, the serious game also has mini games with different mechanics that are designed to make the game more fun and challenging apart from its learning purpose. Our future steps include the evaluation of the game by experts and players.

The paper reports a case study investigating the impact that participation in RoboCupJunior (RCJ) competitions had on the participating students including their educational choices, career decisions, and what impacts they think the competition had years after their participation. RoboCupJunior is an educational robotics competition promoting global collaboration among participating students. RCJ has demonstrated the ability to engage students in robotics and offers a unique learning opportunity for STEM, CS, AI, and robotics education and engaged learning. Since 2000 when the first RCJ event was held in Melbourne, Australia, there are 600-1,000+ students participated in the annual RCJ competition each year. A lot more teams and students participate in each region (country) since all Junior teams go through the regional (national) selection events before joining the annual event. Currently, there are over 40 regions (countries) holding Junior activities and the interest is growing every year. We have witnessed the impact it has on the Junior teams for many years. However, what proves the impact of RCJ as of today is anecdotal accounts mainly from the observations by RCJ organizers, team mentors and teachers, and the stories shared by RCJ participants. The case study investigates and reports the longitudinal impacts of RCJ participation on the team members.

Research on Higher Education Institutions (HEI) has scantly considered stress and uncivil behaviour as interrelated phenomena. The study presented here was conducted at the University of Siena using an online questionnaire. A total of 160 employees, 80 administrative and technicians (PTA), and 80 faculty participated in the study. The questionnaire presented both a scale for measuring perceived stress and a scale for determining the occurrence of uncivil behaviour, whether only perceived or also perpetrated. Concerning perceived stress levels, several differences emerged: females reported higher stress levels than males and faculty more so than administrative and technicians. An interesting relationship was found between perceived stress and occupation namely that untenured workers perceived higher stress levels. Uncivil behaviour, when perpetrated, appears to be mainly a male phenomenon, while the perception of uncivil behaviour is more evident in faculty. The results also show that the perception of uncivil behaviour, particularly for younger people and women, increases the perception of stress. Conversely, regardless of age or gender, the stress and the perception of uncivil behaviour increase the occurrence of uncivil behaviours.

Live programming is usually considered beneficial for learners partly because it reduces the cost of experimentation, facilitating exploratory programming. In the past few decades, there has been a steady increase in the interest and subsequent adoption of visual programming environments and robotics kits specifically tailored for beginners. These tools, however, often lack live programming capabilities. To measure the impact of live programming and shorter feedback loops on educational robotics, we conducted a pilot study with high-school students using our own programming environment: Physical Bits. We developed two distinct configurations of the environment: one with live programming, monitoring, and debugging capabilities enabled and another with those features disabled. We used these two configurations to compare the performance of students during an introductory workshop on robotics. Our findings are consistent with similar studies on the matter: live programming can help students progress further, improve their efficiency, reduce the time required to solve each task, and increase the frequency in which the programs are tested on the robots.

This paper presents the development of Laboratory-Based teaching and learning activities of communication systems to promote functional skills in the 21(st) century. The research process consists of 1) exploring the needs needed to develop teaching and learning in the 21(st) century;2) developing the SLDEA Laboratory-Based learning model consisting of 5 steps: Searching, Learning, Exchanging, Doing, and Assessment;3) creating the instructional package to be as a research tool including a teacher's manual, a simulator, an experimental set of antennas, experimental set of the radio transmission system, a learning achievement test;and 4) implementing the research tools to be used with a sample group of 20 undergraduate students in the semester 2/2023 in the Bachelor of Science in Technical Education, Department of teacher training in electrical engineering at the King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand. The findings showed that 1) the quality of the research tools developed by five experts was at a high level of appropriation;2) the learners' learning achievement had an average of 73.54% and 3) the learners' satisfaction level with Laboratory-Based teaching and learning activities of Basic Communication systems was at a high level. Therefore, it can be concluded that the learning activities developed can encourage learners to have practical skills in the 21st century and have experiences in self-learning and lifelong learning. This skill can lead to the creation of innovations and technologies that can support the industrial sector in the 4.0 era.

With the intention of designing more effective and trustworthy interactions between robots and children in the future, the effects of different types of errors made by robots in a given child-robot interaction were systematically recorded, analyzed and evaluated. To this end, a laboratory situation was created in which the reactions of a total of 64 children aged between six and twelve were analyzed using a combination of observations, interviews and questionnaires. Detailed data was collected on the children's perception of the misbehavior of a robot, as well as on their trust, sympathy and anthropomorphism. In addition to a discussion and summary of the results, the final conclusion of the paper offers an outlook for future research.

In higher education in the distance mode, there is a need to strengthen collaborative learning techniques. The aim of this research is to identify the problem of working in groups in higher education. The methodology has a mixed approach nested in the quantitative with a survey applied to 138 students and the process carried out is through an action research approach due to the interpretation of the social phenomenon mentioned. In this research, the shortcomings of group work are identified, obtaining recommendations to promote this learning in the distance modality. Results of the survey were analyzed to conclude that students confuse disorganized group work with collaborative work, recognize the benefits of this work, but point out as a great challenge the participation and responsibility of classmates. The lack of leadership in the groups is also highlighted and 53% of the students surveyed state that they prefer individual activities. It is important that students recognize the true characteristics and implications of collaborative work and be trained to take more leadership roles in this type of work.

The article describes the experience of applying distance digital educational technologies in the process of teaching the discipline "Foreign Language" at higher engineering educational institutions, highlighting both the positive possibilities of the digital format and certain limitations related to the organizational, pedagogical, material and technical conditions of its implementation, and the psychological difficulties of the teaching staff and students in switching to a distance learning format. The results are implemented on the example of bachelors' professional training at the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy (Kharkiv). The proposed model of organizing a distance learning course in a foreign language for future engineer-teachers allows to develop and implement a combined model of the foreign language educational process: traditional interaction of students and teachers in combination using online courses with synchronous learning in a distance format provided by digital didactics, create a system of control and monitoring of knowledge in all types of foreign language activities;to improve the quality and effectiveness of the distance learning format, as well as to develop the skills of independent work of future engineers-teachers within the distance course in the discipline "A Foreign Language".
