The choice of optimal tools and instruments of synthesis and modelling of neural network for pattern recognition in images is carried out. A comparative analysis of the results of training a neural network using the open library of machine learning TensorFlow, libraries Keras and NumPy, data sets from the open database MNIST in the recognition of handwritten input has been carried out. The software based on the neural network of the convolutional type by topology is developed, which solves the problems of handwritten numerical symbols recognition. The main design, technological and technical-operational characteristics: accuracy 99.2%, mini-packages - 200 pieces, the ratio of training and training sets - 0.2, the number of epochs - 10. The created software can be used in areas of visual analysis of data of paper documentation of enterprises, where it is necessary to transfer data from paper to electronic form. And also, to serve as a starting point for the development of the core of more powerful software for handwriting recognition, namely, a bunch of digits, symbols (car numbers, postal codes, etc.). #CSOC1120.

In recent years, together with advances in the software defined radio (SDR) field, the concept of mobile private networks (MPNs) gained momentum. Several solutions based on open-source software modules and using SDR platforms as hardware were developed. In the current paper, the radio coverage of a private 4G mobile network was evaluated using the HTZ Communication software and field-test measurements. The network was implemented using an USRP B210 SDR platform and the srsRAN-4G software suite. A comparison between the coverage estimated using different propagation models and measurements is performed, together with an analysis of the obtained results.

The explosion of connected objects and increasing Internet flows generate a variety of large amounts of data. More often the data generation speeds is difficult to control for traditional data analysis systems. That is, analyzing the generated data in real-time and in batch process modes appears necessary. The Lambda architecture has been proposed in the literature with a data ingestion layer for data collection, filtration, transformation and transfer to address this challenge. Despite the diversity of data and its high generation speed, the Lambda architecture must enable companies to process efficiently data. However, the Lambda architecture presents some difficulties, particularly in its implementation process, the separation of processing, and data transfer and synchronization. In this work, we propose a variant of the Lambda architecture which decouples the data ingestion layer from the processing layer, to facilitate its implementation. The simulation results show that there is value in implementing the new proposed architecture.

Lean Distribution is a strategic and operational approach to logistics management aimed at optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of product flows while minimizing waste. This approach focuses on reducing lead times, inventory, and costs, all while improving quality and customer satisfaction. In a context of growing concerns about the environmental impact of human activities, environmental performance becomes a critical priority for businesses worldwide. In this regard, combining Lean Distribution with environmental performance shows promising potential. By streamlining processes, minimizing waste, and optimizing resource management, Lean Distribution can significantly contribute to reducing the ecological footprint of supply chains and distribution. This synergy presents a unique opportunity for businesses to reconcile their economic objectives with their environmental responsibilities. In this study, we will conduct an in-depth analysis of existing literature to identify and categorize the most significant lean practices downstream of the supply chain. We will also seek to establish clear links between these lean practices and three environmental performance indicators.

The two most popular techniques for finding the maximum power point (MPP) of the solar system are the incremental conductance (InC) and perturbation and observation (P&O) approach. These techniques benefit from simple algorithms, user-friendliness, and quick convergence times. Besides, the large oscillation around MPP, not finding the global MPP under partial shading conditions are disadvantages of these methods. This research proposes theMPPtracking method based on the novel methodology to address the aforementioned issue. The proposed InC method has attained the global MPP more quickly than the standard techniques based on the benefits of simplicity and quick convergence speed of the traditional InC method. The simulation results proved that the proposed method converged with the time from 0.23 s to 0.25 s, faster than the conventional InC method from 0.17 s to 0.55 s.

Tax fraud remains a global issue, with significant economic setbacks for many countries, including Zambia. Traditional methods of tackling this challenge often hinge on labeled datasets, which are scarce due to the slow nature of tax audits and the inherent biases in sample selection. To address this data scarcity and offer a more immediate solution, this study introduces an unsupervised approach utilizing K-means clustering alongside anomaly detection techniques. Using an extensive dataset of VAT declarations and associated refund transactions spanning several years, we demonstrate the potential of this method for efficiently identifying potential tax fraud cases. The critical contribution of this paper lies not only in its innovative approach to a longstanding problem but also in its tailored application for the Zambian context. By bypassing the need for exhaustive labeled data, our methodology offers a promising direction for enhancing tax fraud detection capabilities, ensuring a more resilient fiscal landscape for Zambia.

The recent paradigm shift in global politics from the era of free trade and globalization towards securing economic interests has brought geopolitical risk into the center of business decisions. Business leaders are pointing out geopolitics as the greatest business risk causing, e.g. disruptions in global supply chains. However, a very limited number of systematic models and tools to evaluate these risks and support risk-management exist. In this paper, we take a fuzzy approach to investments under geopolitical risk. While real options thinking has gained significant attention for its ability to assess the value of managerial flexibility, fuzzy modeling has strength in inherently ambiguous and imprecise investment environments. We extend the fuzzy root-mean-square (RMS) fuzzy pay-off method for real option valuation (FPOM) based on cashflow scenarios. RMS-FPOM incorporates trapezoidal fuzzy numbers as a representation of uncertainty. The results are compared to the center-of-gravity pay-off method, to highlight its advantages and suitability for practical applications. To illustrate the practical relevance of our approach, a numerical example of real options in supply chain in uncertain geopolitical environment is presented. The real options can be viewed as independent or interdependent sequential real options;they may be proprietary to the company doing analysis in-house or, for example, to a corporate acquirer screening possible supply chain networks to exercise the identified real options and building competitive advantage and possible synergies through M&A transactions. The presented approach provides a robust framework for evaluating real options in supply chain networks associated with demand or supply side disruptions.

This paper presents a new approach to digitising the Scanning Collision Avoidance Device (SCAD) which is used to detect obstacles in front of a powered wheelchair. The new approach replaced the SCAD electronic circuit with a Raspberry Pi. Python programming language is used to create a program to analyse readings from the SCAD ultrasonic transducer. The program is installed on the Raspberry Pi. An op-amp isolation circuit was inserted between SCAD and Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi analysed readings received from the SCAD ultrasonic transducer. The program used the readings to identify distances and locations of obstacles in the surroundings. User input switches were connected to the Raspberry Pi and converted inputs from switches into commands controlling the wheelchair motors. The program incorporated two driving modes: Stop and Avoid. A User Interface was created to allow users to select the desired driving mode and operate the new system. Stop mode will stop the user from driving in the direction of the detected obstacle. Avoid mode will avoid the obstacles in the wheelchair surroundings by driving in the opposite direction. The Python program captured the users' desired direction and intelligently translated these commands to a safe driving direction that avoided obstacles in the wheelchair surroundings. If the user did not select a driving mode, the program would disable the wheelchair motors and a message will appear asking the user to select a driving mode before driving. This provided a safety feature that prevented the system from being accidentally operated.

Image fusion plays a vital role in many fields. Especially, fusion of infrared and visible images has high importance in every scenario from computer vision to medical sector. The objective of this work is to develop an effective method for producing clear objects with high spatial resolution along with background information by fusing infrared (IR) and visible (VIS) images. This integrated image can be efficiently utilized by humans or machines. To achieve this objective, we propose the use of Multi-Layer Bilateral Filtering (BF) and Gaussian Filtering (GF) techniques, which improvises the skewness and kurtosis of fused images. While the BF technique consistently produces higher quality images, the GF approach outperforms it by 86% in terms of statistical measures such as skewness and kurtosis. The findings demonstrate that the GF technique yields outputs with reduced noise and improved visual appeal. In this paper, we compare the assessment metrics of several outputs for both single images and a set of 100 images.

Data and data management have achieved an eminent meaning in innovation processes because they typically require sensitive information from various external legal entities. Within innovation projects the data issue quite often turns out to be a major barrier because companies are not ready to share their data if their expertise is not handled secure and protected. Data spaces represent a new approach to fostering data ecosystems, incorporating essential features for safeguarding the intellectual property rights and related interests of all participating data providers. Therefore, a data space can significantly enhance speed, security, traceability, and - most importantly - the trustworthiness within the process of sharing highly sensitive data. This paper talks about the concept of data spaces for the special field of innovation and how it can be built. For this a related innovation project provides helpful inputs in order to establish a useful and practical innovation data space.
