The programming language PEARL has by far the most distinctive real-time properties, which is why it has excellently proven itself in industrial automation applications. The main features of the language and its support for distributed systems are presented. As the first universally applicable textual programming language, PEARL offers safety-related subsets suitable for each of the four internationally standardised safety integrity levels, as well as special language constructs to formulate safe sequence controls. Parts of PEARL can already be used for specification purposes due to their inherent clarity, unambiguity and direct comprehensibility.

The article considers a combined hard and software method for generation of a high-determined control sequence of pulses for stepper and servo motors to perform multi-axis actuator's positioning which is typical for CNC equipment. Simulation in MATLAB/Simulink IDE is performed to predict possible distortion of control sequence in a case of pulse generation for two axes. Two variants of hardware implementation that have found practical application in commercial products are presented: the first one is for relatively simple motion control systems, which do not need complex multi-axis movements, and the second one is for the most complicated systems with up to 10 independent axes. The first implementation is based on STM32 microcontroller connected with Spartan-7 FPGA, while the second one uses a single SoC Zynq-7000, which provides a much more flexible solution (a PCB redesign is not needed while interconnection bus is located inside SoC itself). Examples of the hardware platform design are shown with the appropriate performance testing results.

The rising increase in urban population and growing demand by passengers for seamless mobility requires efficient operation of road transport applications. The current traffic surveillance systems in most Nigeria cities are inefficient, costly, and characterized by errors thereby requiring the deployment of smart solutions. This paper proposes an AI-driven internet of things (IoT) solution to the present traffic flow management crises. We provide preliminary workflow activities for achieving our objective by designing a data dictionary of input features/parameters that impact traffic flow management. Specifications of the data dictionary assisted the simulation and implementation of a congestion prediction system modeled after four road networks within the Uyo Metropolis of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Results of a deep learning model evaluation prove the success of our implementation with satisfactory values of root mean squared error (0.1332), receiver operating curve-area under the curve (0.9293) and accuracy (0.8668). A full-scale study including the implementation of our proposed framework is expected in future research.

This paper presents an analysis of various text summarization methods used to condense lengthy pieces of text into shorter versions while retaining the most relevant information. The study reviews different approaches to text summarization, including extraction-based and abstraction-based methods. These techniques are assessed in terms of accuracy, fluency, and coherence, using a variety of metrics such as ROUGE, BLEU, and F1 measures. The suggested model may efficiently produce a smaller body of text that is both accurate in both the semantic sense and linguistic sense by comprehending the entire text and framing it on its own. The findings of this study can help researchers and practitioners in the field of NLP to choose the most suitable text summarization method for their particular application.

This paper investigates the application and benefits of using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) techniques, with an emphasis on large language models (LLMs) as an innovative approach in the development of information systems. The focus lies primarily on systems employing open datasets where data confidentiality is not a focal concern. By replacing the traditional programmed logic with these advanced AI models, this paper presents the measurable improvements in the efficiency and adaptability of system design, development, and maintenance. The key advantages discussed include an enhanced rate and accuracy in query processing and response provision. Despite accentuating these substantial benefits, the paper acknowledges potential limitations with the alignment of these models to certain user-specific needs. A noteworthy component of this study includes an in-depth exploration of Large Language Models usage and its implications in system interactivity and personalisation realms. The results suggest that the implementation of LLMs not only ensures precise and contextually relevant responses to user queries, but it also contributes to a significant reduction in time and resources expended during system design and development phases. Thus, replacing standard programmed logic with LLMs in systems utilizing open datasets accelerates the development timeline, simplifies maintenance procedures and boost the overall dynamism of the system.

Based on the application of the differential quality game, a mathematical model is developed to estimate the costs of parties during targeted APT attacks. The model is a part of a comprehensive ensemble of models included in the intellectual system for making decisions on ensuring information security (IS) of the objects of information activity, which may face the threat of targeted APT attacks against them. The model is developed based on the differential quality game's primary purpose. The model's main objective is to search for optimal strategies of players willing to allocate a portion of their financial resources to counter cyber-attacks and protect their information assets. Furthermore, the proposed solution facilitates the analytical search not only for the game's value but also enables the defence side to determine the qualitative characteristics of achieving IS goals when using optimal strategies for allocating its financial resources. Computational experiments have been conducted, providing a clear visualization of the game's results.

Hand gesture recognition (HGR) is important for creating easy-to-use interfaces that utilize natural human communication and manipulation techniques. To deploy and use HGR in the real world, it is important to detect out-of-distribution (OOD) data. In this study, we perform OOD detection in HGR and show that data augmentation can be a better training technique. Specifically, we utilize hand landmarks coordinates from Mediapipe to add images and expose outliers by flipping the images during the model training process. Our methodology improves FPR95, AUROC performance on NUS hand posture dataset-II. We demonstrate that data augmentation can enable better OOD detection in HGR.

AI and machine learning, powered by data and computational prowess, present a promising path for stock price prediction in the quickly changing financial scene. Accurate models that comprehend the complicated, nonlinear dynamics of the stock market are required due to its increasing complexity and volatility. The Stock Market Prediction App, powered by LSTM neural networks, is now available. Our goal is to accurately anticipate the NSE Stock's closing price the following day using a combination of nine carefully chosen predictors from market fundamentals, macroeconomics, and technical indicators. Both single-layer and multilayer LSTM models attentively adapted to input variables, are included in our method. A thorough analysis that considers measures like RMSE, MAPE, and correlation coefficient highlights the single-layer LSTM as the best performance. This study emphasizes the mutually beneficial interaction between finance and cutting-edge machine learning, highlighting the revolutionary impact of LSTM in understanding the intricacies of the stock market. Our main objective is to give traders, investors, and financial fans the tools they need to safely negotiate the complex landscape of the modern stock market. By bridging the gap between sound monetary judgement and cutting-edge technology, our stock market prediction app helps users make well-informed decisions.

This paper explores the application of symbolic regression, a technique rooted in genetic programming, to model the nonlinear hyperelastic and viscoelastic deformation behaviors of materials. The research focuses on two theoretical models (Neo-Hookean and Mooney-Rivlin) for hyperelastic material identification and generalized linear viscoelastic model. The models in their combinations are discovered in the context of soft bio tissue deformation. Synthetic datasets are generated based on these models, and symbolic regression is employed to obtain mathematical expressions representing the material behavior. The study presents the results of an implementation of the symbolic regression procedure based on those datasets in the form of analytical expressions and graph-tree structures. The iterative dependencies of the convergency of the symbolic regression for the analyzed cases are carried out. The results showcase the capability of the symbolic regression approach in capturing the time-dependent and complex nature of viscoelastic deformation. However, the problem of identification of the models that represent periodic time-varying that is set in a parametric way is figured out. It is shown the iterative dependencies of the convergency of the symbolic regression for the analyzed cases.
