This paper presents a systematic review of the literature aiming to analyze the state of the art of the use of serious games to detect age related cognitive impairments of community-dwelling older adults by identifying (i) the interaction paradigms being used, (ii) the cognitive domains being assessed, and (iii) how the proposed applications were evaluated. A systematic electronic search was performed, and 25 studies were included in the systematic review. The most used interaction paradigm was simulation of daily tasks, while memory, executive functions, and attention were the cognitive domains most referred. Six articles reported on diagnostic accuracy studies and their results indicate that serious games can discriminate between normal cognition and nonnormal cognition, since they present high sensitivity and specificity values.

This paper discusses the crucial requirement for reliable gold price prediction, which is necessary for financial market decision-making. We propose a comprehensive approach to develop a robust predictive model capable of predicting both the rise and fall of gold prices. For this, three (3) machine learning (ML) models-Decision Tree Regressor (DTR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Random Forest (RF);must be carefully chosen, and model parameters must be adjusted so that predicted values roughly match actual results. Given this, this paper investigates the influence and effectiveness of incorporating technical indicators in predicting fluctuations in gold prices, which might have an impact on the overall performance of the ML models. By achieving a prediction accuracy rate of at least 80%, the model becomes a favorable tool for informed decision-making and provides valuable insights to investors in the gold markets.

The recent trend in the textile setting highlights the need for more effective and affordable processes to make the garment market more sustainable. Secondhand garment reuse and fabric recycling are two virtuous pathways toward material saving and sustainable transition. Sorting processes are fundamental enablers of this transition. The main operations involved are identification, classification, and quality assessment. This work proposes a collaborative robotic solution for the first identification and classification of garments to support human experts, along with the following assessment operations for garment and fabric quality and the identification of textile fibers. The proposed approach is based on a collaborative system integrating robots, machine vision models, and dedicated gripper systems to perform the picking actions required to identify and classify garment categories. The first experiments demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach as well as the self-learning capability of the system using the detection model continuous training.

A series of finite element calculations was performed to evaluate the impact of the geometric parameters of the reconstructive structures for "screw implant - maxillary segment" biomechanical system on the stress state of the cancellous tissue. To generate the model, we used high-order 10-node tetrahedral finite elements with the quadratic approximation of displacements that provided high modeling accuracy, in particular, in the areas of the implant thread - bone tissue joint, characterized by a high gradient of components of the stress-strain behavior. The finite element model is represented by 102231 elements. Biomechanical system was rigidly fixed at the frontal sections of the maxillary segment, thus preventing its displacement. The regression analysis of the results of a series of biomechanical system finite element calculations performed by us allowed establishing an analytical relationship between its geometric parameters (implant length and diameter, abutment slope angle) and factor of safety of the cancellous bone. Its linear model with the low coefficient of determination (0.584) and quadratic model providing high enough value of the coefficient (0.875) were used. It is obvious that at the next stages of research, when certain improvements in this direction could be achieved, it will be possible to consider nonlinear phenomena in the regression models in order to obtain the better precision of results. The results of the work will allow us to reveal the main trends in changes of the factor of safety of cancellous tissue relative to the value of traumatic stresses, depending on the implant length and diameter, and abutment slope angle.

Malaysia faced a shortage of rice at the end of the previous year. Due to this shortage, the government had to import rice to meet the needs of the people, at the same time affecting the national economy. The shortage of rice can be caused by many factors and one of them is because of the decrease in rice production productivity due to the failure to prevent diseases that affect crop yields earlier. If no control measures are implemented after the infection begins, the disease may cause rice yield losses of up to half of the production. Hence, early detection of these diseases is important for effective management and control strategies. This study aims to develop a model that is able to detect paddy plant disease by using Google Teachable Machine. This model is compared to the model developed using You Only Look Once (YOLO) version 8. As the primary dataset has not been collected yet, this study utilized dataset from the Internet. Overall, our findings highlight the model developed using Google Teachable Machine outperforms the model developed using YOLOv8 in terms of accuracy, simplicity and performance time as it can be completed in half an hour compared toYOLOv8 which took 2.083 h to complete the training. For future study, the model from Teachable Machine will be deployed through mobile applications for disease monitoring using data from drones.

Improvements of mechanical characteristics in existing timber structures has an increasing application. There are numerous studies on the application of FRP materials as reinforcement in timber structures. The use of FRP has gained importance because it is a light material with very high mechanical performance, due to its strength and stiffness. The origin of the fibres in the composite material is of great importance when choosing the reinforcing material in timber constructions. Today, there are FRP materials on the market that are made of synthetic fibres, natural fibres, and more recently hybrid fibres (combination of synthetic and natural fibres). As a result of inadequate maintenance of timber constructions, biological deterioration of wood occurs, which significantly affects the load-bearing capacity of the wooden element in the structure. The paper presents various techniques for strengthening timber elements, which can be applied in already existing timber structures.

This study is focused to hold a comparison for the stability of the recorded radio data. This data is obtained by the observations of the two radio sources (3C 348 and 3C 433) using Baghdad University Radio Telescope (BURT). The coordinates positions of the observed sources 3C 433 and 3C 348 are (RA: 21(h) 23(m) 44.534(s), DE: 25(0) 04(m) 11.88(s)), (RA: 16(h) 51(m) 08.147(s), DE: 04(0) 59(m) 33.32(s)) respectively. These positions are suitable for radio observation from Baghdad city by BURT. The observations were spent approximately two months (January, June) from (2023/01/10 until 2023/06/01), with different time periods. The results showed that the more stable of the maximum recorded signal is obtained with the long time period of the observations. Acurve fitting is implemented on the result to investigate the behavior of stability of the maximum signal with time observation. Statistical calculations are done to found the best behavior of the recorded signal stability. Finally, the behavior stability of the recorded maximum signal is found to be a linear.

In this paper a hybrid model is presented for generating novel stories using (a) a traditional symbolic AI cognitive-appraisal model of emotions embodied in the Affective Reasoner (AR), and (b) the large-language-model-based (LLM) system embodied in ChatGPT. The novel emotion and narrative structure is generated first by AR techniques-giving strong, symbolic computable structure to the intermediate narratives-and then fed in series to ChatGPT to add complementary world knowledge and elegant language structure. The resulting stories are polished and cohesive, but the basic structural elements remain under computational control. Explanations about content can be generated, based on the emotion content, and also on the appraisal-based dispositions, expressive temperaments, reasoning about the fortunes of others, relationships and moods of the characters in the stories. Background emotion theory is reviewed, relevant to the morphing of narratives, composed of 28 emotion categories, 24 emotion intensity variables, and similar to 400 channels for emotion expression, which has been implemented in the AR. Aseries of hybrid-generated stories are presented illustrating howthe emotion makeup of characters, their emotions, their actions and their narrative perspectives remain not only consistent but are largely enhanced after treatment by ChatGPT. Actual examples of generated stories covering a wide range of complex emotion scenarios are given.
