For the success in human-robot collaboration, it is essential to facilitate the readiness and maintenance of human-robot interaction (HRI). With the advance of robot intelligence, robot is expected to play a key role for such facilitation so that human can focus on the main task. In this paper, we present an HRI system, referred to here as Robot-Facilitated Interaction System (RFIS), by which an autonomous mobile robot transporting a patient facilitates interaction with an accompanying caretaker monitoring and nursing the patient. The proposed RFIS enables a transport robot to automatically recognize, track and reidentify a caretaker in a cluttered area, while understanding gestures of the caretaker, to proactively maintain readiness in real time for anytime-anywhere interaction. An emphasis is given to efficient and robust integration of interaction facilitation modules into a real time HRI system in an edge computing environment. The proposed RFIS is implemented with lightly configured yet performance optimized deep learning network modules and applied to an autonomous mobile robot developed for transporting a patient. Experimental results demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of RFIS in terms of its operational efficacy in HRI.

The use of humanoid robots, in the field of rehabilitation, has increased over the last years as the technology has become more sophisticated. The aim of this paper is to explore the possibility of using humanoid robots in rehabilitation for children and youth with cerebral palsy (CP). A total of 9 papers were found with inclusion criteria of children with CP, rehabilitation and humanoid robots. In these 9 papers there were 40 children with reported CP diagnosis, age range from 2.11 to 18 years. We found that humanoid robots tested in real rehabilitation scenarios were NAO, ZORA, MARKO and URSUS. These were mostly used in simple rehabilitation interventions as motivators in different exercises for joint mobility or therapeutic exercises in legs or arms. Our findings show that humanoid robots need to be toughly tested following a complete standard process for planning, experimenting and reporting before being used in rehabilitation. In addition, our analysis shows that QTrobot has a huge potential for the rehabilitation of CP children.

The article discusses important aspects of bankruptcy prediction, including early risk detection and informed financial decision making. An automated decision tree learning method can efficiently analyze multiple economic indicators, automatically identify key factors, and thus improve the accuracy and interpretability of predictions. This research approach can be a valuable tool for investors, lenders and managers, helping them to reduce financial risks and ensure the financial stability of companies. The article aims to expand the understanding of the impact of economic factors on bankruptcy and to propose innovative methods for analyzing data to make informed decisions.

Participatory banks are completely different from conventional banks. They are driven by the principles of Islamic finance. When making the decision to deal with a financing modality, participatory banks use specific tools and methods different from those used in conventional banks. This article seeks to understand this process and the determinants and variables that make participatory banks very different. Otherwise, we will try to focus attention on the differentiation strategy adopted by the participatory banks as well as the role of this strategy in achieving competitive advantages. Diagnosed, the results obtained through this study show that the differentiation strategy plays a very important role in the marketing of participatory financial products in participatory banks, which gives them a competitive advantage. These results have become clear to us, both through field studies and according to the results obtained according to the outputs of the Smart PLS software.

The factors influencing purchase intention in the context of MS Glow, a digital marketplace, were investigated in this quantitative study, with a focus on e-word of mouth and e-service quality, moderated by brand image and mediated by e-satisfaction. Non-probability sampling and Likert scales were used to collect data from 150 respondents aged 17-35 in the Jabodetabek area. Measurement model analysis, structural model analysis, validity and reliability tests, and hypothesis testing were among the analysis techniques used. The findings revealed that e-word of mouth, e-service quality, and e-satisfaction all have a significant impact on purchase intention. Furthermore, e-word of mouth indirectly influenced purchase intention via e-satisfaction, and e-service quality indirectly influenced purchase intention via e-satisfaction. The study is useful for businesses that sell on digital marketplaces such as MS Glow and Shopee.

Addressing occlusion in object detection is a critical challenge as the use of smart video surveillance systems (SVS) grows. Current methods often struggle with relative occlusions among objects, which can severely compromise the efficacy of real-world SVS applications. Existing occlusion-handling strategies typically face limitations related to data inflexibility and the accurate discrimination of objects. To overcome these challenges, this paper introduces a sophisticated end-to-end solution that utilizes point cloud density analysis for precise occlusion rate assessment and combines depth information with RGB data to effectively separate occluded objects. This approach leverages advancements in integrating 2D and 3D data, employing cutting-edge network architectures and enhanced preprocessing techniques. Our model demonstrated its effectiveness on the KITTI dataset, particularly in scenarios where occlusion exceeded 20%. It surpassed the performance of YOLO3D by an average improvement of 10% in AP, and CompNet by 5%. This enhancement is indicative of the model's advanced capabilities in discerning and accurately detecting objects, even when they are partially obscured, which is a substantial step forward in the realm of occlusion handling.

Predictive Modeling of Vicat Softening Point for Low-Density Polyethylene Using GBM, XGBoost and AdaBoost: A Comparative Analysis 1

This study provides a comparative analysis for predicting Vicat softening temperatures of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), which is one of the versatile polymers used extensively across various industrial sectors. LDPE exhibits unique properties, such as flexibility, electrical insulating characteristics, and low melting point. The manufacturing process demands rigorous quality controls, involving extensive laboratory product testing, requiring significant time, labor, and cost investments. In this study, we explored the potential ofmachine-learning-based predictors to alleviate or reduce these challenges. Our analysis focused on the accuracy and processing time of predicting models based on three prominent boostingmethods: Gradient BoostingMachines (GBM), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Adaptive Boosting (AdaBoost). We collected the laboratory testing results from one of the largest polymer manufacturers in Southeast Asia: our data set comprised 71 features. Based on the comparison results, we concluded that XGBoost exhibits superior predictive performance (in terms of MAE, MSE, and RMSE) compared to GBM and AdaBoost, indicating its potential in time saving, labor, and cost reduction in the manufacturing process. Both XGBoost and AdaBoost incurred maximum errors below 2.9, aligning with the industry testing standard. Notably, Adaboost incurred slightly lower maximum errors in comparison to XGBoost. Furthermore, we presented the top 10 significant features highlighted by the XGBoost models.

The integration of video-based pedagogical tools into educational practices has become a prevalent approach. However, the effective utilization of video teaching in the context of additive manufacturing education presents unique challenges, primarily arising from the traditional physical educational practice involving equipment and machinery. In this research, a learning factory design blending online education and a physical workshop has been tested to see how to deliver learning about a full additive manufacturing process chain to full-time industrial employees using digital learning technologies, formats and methods. The learning factory aimed at giving access to content and learning outside of the classroom and at the users' convenience. However self-learning modules especially designed for single participants calls for a greater attention on how to ensure intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. In this study interactive videos were used as primary teaching tool. Quizzes and discussion forum were enabled to boost intrinsic motivation (instruct active viewing) for the participants to complete the videos. After video teaching, physical workshops were offered to the participants to assure learning effect as well as an extrinsic motivation for the video watching. Statistics based on the viewer engagements show that short videos perform better in keeping full-time employees engaged. The study indicates that further research on the role of interactive videos to secure intrinsic and extrinsic self-learning motivation is a promising field in learning factories studies.

This research paper examines the complex correlation between socioeconomic factors, urban density, and the acceptance of mobile wallet technology in smart cities. The study investigates how socioeconomic status and urban density influence the adoption of mobile wallets. Smart cities have experienced a significant increase in the adoption of mobile payment solutions such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, noted for their technological innovation and ability to enhance living standards. These digital payment platforms provide ease, security, and efficiency, revolutionising how individuals engage in financial transactions and navigate urban environments. The study examines the many aspects that impact this phenomenon, focusing on the significance of comprehending how socioeconomic status and urban density influence the acceptance of mobile wallets. The study utilises a meticulous research technique, which involves evaluating the reliability and validity of constructs, analysing heterotrait-monotrait (HTMT) ratios, conducting tests for discriminant validity, and doing variance inflation factor (VIF) analysis. These measures are taken to ensure the strength and reliability of the report's conclusions. The research's importance is further supported by model fit statistics and hypothesis testing conducted through bootstrapping. The results emphasise that the inclusion of mobile wallet functions, the legal framework, and the development of smart city infrastructure have a substantial influence on the acceptance of mobile wallets. However, the impact of urban density on mobile wallet adoption is more intricate and multifaceted. This study provides significant insights into the dynamic field of technology uptake in urban regions, with implications for politicians, entrepreneurs, and urban planners seeking to promote financial inclusion and technological integration in smart cities.
