The evolution of Large Language Models (LLMs) has showcased remarkable capacities for logical reasoning and natural language comprehension. These capabilities can be leveraged in solutions that semantically and textually model complex problems. In this paper, we present our efforts toward constructing a framework that can serve as an intermediary between a user and their user interface (UI), enabling dynamic and real-time interactions. We employ a system that stands upon textual semantic mappings of UI components, in the form of annotations. These mappings are stored, parsed, and scaled in a custom data structure, supplementary to an agent-based prompting backend engine. Employing textual semantic mappings allows each component to not only explain its role to the engine but also provide expectations. By comprehending the needs of both the user and the components, our LLM engine can classify the most appropriate application, extract relevant parameters, and subsequently execute precise predictions of the user's expected actions. Such an integration evolves static user interfaces into highly dynamic and adaptable solutions, introducing a new frontier of intelligent and responsive user experiences.

Surgical intervention for cataract extraction, together with the insertion of a toric intraocular lens in patients with corneal astigmatism, has undergone significant advances. It is now recognized as a safe and comfortable procedure, with positive results that contribute to the improvement of visual acuity. In this context, the main objective is to achieve emmetropia through optical correction. For this purpose, the research focuses on the precise determination of spherical and cylindrical power, as well as the appropriate placement of the toric intraocular lens, based on the information obtained through ocular biometry and keratometry. Consequently, a support tool has been developed for the presumptive diagnosis of patients with no history of ocular surgery. The results of such diagnosis are used to calculate the final position of the toric intraocular lens, with the aim of optimizing the patient's visual field. These results are also shared with the specialists of the "Santa Lucia" clinic in Quito, Ecuador.

In recent years, demand for insect-scale MAVs (Micro Aerial Vehicles) that can fly in confined spaces has been increasing at disaster sites and agricultural sites, and research on MAVs has been active. In this study, we develop an insect-scale flapping winged flying robot using a micro ultrasonic motor with high torque density and simple structure. The prototype motor employs the vibration mode of bending as its principle, and uses a stator with piezoelectric elements attached to a metal rectangle of size 1mm x 1mm x 3 mm. Experimental results showed that this motor could achieve a rotational speed of 25,000 rpm with a voltage of 80 Vp-p applied. Then, a flapping mechanism with elastic links was designed. The total weight of this flapping mechanism is less than 100 mg. Frictional torque was measured, with a maximum of 38 mu Nm.

Although there are public policies in Brazil to include students with disabilities at all educational levels, they are not always effective in effectively reducing barriers to access to education for these students. These barriers are due to infrastructure in schools, prejudice, lack of adequate skills to accommodate these students, even the lack of preparation of teachers to meet the individual educational demands of students. This work presents a series of actions to contribute to teacher training in several educational levels in the Brazilian context.

Deep learning and AI has revolutionized the field of computer science and have now become the dominant approach to solving a wide problem range, from partial differential equations to molecular discovery. Indeed, numerical simulation techniques have traditionally relied on solving physically derived equations using finite differences and adding heuristic models when they become too complex to solve (Turbulence models in fluid mechanics, for example). This class of techniques remains (computationally) (very) expensive;we are talking about hours to days of simulation on petaflop or exaflop machines. The situation is even worse because the simulation must restart when an engineer wants to change the shape. Today, to achieve an accurate prediction of the simulation at low time and cost, the process is simulated based on an artificial neural network. Different artificial neural networks have been recently developed for progressive prediction of the phenomenon under consideration. The chapter overviews the most recent artificial neural networks proposed by the research communities, explains the pros and cons, and shows the limits and yet unsolved problems. The chapter also illustrates the considered challenges, most of the time, through different partial differential equations.

General nonlinear black-box models, hybrid first-principles combined with statistical nonlinear models, and physical component models with block diagrams can often provide detailed and accurate descriptions useful for simulating dynamical systems. The opaque nature of such models often makes them less suitable for traditional (linear) approaches to control system design and analysis. We explore a simulation-based approach to controller design for a heating process as an alternative. As models, we use a system of nonlinear differential equations presented in a recent paper and a linear (multiple-input multiple-output) model identified in the present study. Based on defined criteria, PI-controllers for a key quality variable are designed by optimizing simulations. Simulated and experimental results for the identified linear model are compared to a nonlinear grey-box model. Based on this comparison, we propose to include simulation-based control system analysis for developing more reliable criteria for simulation-based design.

As a new search paradigm emerges, users' perspectives on information searching shift from finding information to receiving it. Recommender systems (RS) are an emerging method of obtaining information. RS has succeeded in many conventional domains, such as social media and online video platforms like `YouTube.' An insufficient number of user-item ratings triggers obstacles to individual RS and group recommender systems (GRS). Data sparsity becomes an issue as a result of this incompleteness. The accuracy of recommendations given to a group suffers when there is a lack of data within the group. It happens as a result of ineffective group formation, which usually involves individuals who possess sparse user profiles. Most of the research being done now concentrates on this problem after group formation. Assuming that handling data sparsity at the individual level would be more efficient, this study concentrated on data sparsity before the group formation process. The primary goal is to create a cross-domain technique with Linked Open Data (LOD) technology to ensure that problems with data sparsity can be addressed before the group formation process. The experiment of the proposed method leveraging LOD and cross-domain knowledge simultaneously in this study suggests that it achieved the lowest prediction errors compared to other experiments carried out in this study. A more accurate rating prediction can further alleviate data sparsity in the user-item matrix before group formation using user profiles. Hence, this research will enhance the quality of recommendations by reducing data sparsity in user profiles.

Natural Language Processing requires various preprocessing before words are processed by the system. Stemming plays a very crucial role as a preprocessing technique, which extracts the root word (stem) or lemma from the lexeme. Raw texts can be inflected or derivative words. Those words require cleansing before analysis which can be done by removing affixes or with the required morphological analysis. This paper analyzes various stemming algorithms for Limbu language. We explore the prevalent utilization of stemming algorithms, in both common practice and specifically tailored for less-resourced languages. We conduct a comprehensive assessment and analysis of existing stemmers on the Limbu language, examining their performance. Drawing from this comparative study and experimentation, we introduce an innovative model for the Limbu language that enhances certain aspects of established algorithms.

Improving the reliability and designing of fault-tolerant finite state machines (FSMs) is an important task. There are many known methods for designing reliability FSMs. In these methods, a change of one or two bits in the FSM state register is most often considered as a fault. Structural models of robust Moore FSM have been presented in [9], which allow us to detect invalid input and output vectors both in each state and for the whole FSM, an invalid code of the present and next state, and invalid transitions between states. This paper discusses the Verilog HDL description styles of these structural models of robust FSMs, as well as the combined structural models. Experimental studies have shown that the considered structural models insignificantly increase the area of the original FSM, and for some structures the area even decreases. At the same time, the performance of the original FSM changes insignificantly, and for some structures it increases by 35-37%.

In this work, we will investigate two approaches to deploy learning rules. A combination of these approaches is used to create a generic learning rule for prototype-based models with the emphasis on interpretability. In this regard, we will show how the learning rules are associated to the underlying decision making of such models. Moreover, the work concludes by giving possible interpretations of these rules and anchor points for developing related explanations and designing comprehensible learning rules.
