Many organizations establish management systems that: - improves the quality of processes and process results, - improves the attitude towards the environment, - improve energy performance, etc., which represents a good path towards corporate social responsibility of the organization. All these systems are based on ISO standards, which are compatible, so they can be integrated into a single management system. The methodology on which all management systems are based is unique and is represented by the PDCA cycle. The paper will highlight the importance of the aforementioned methodology for management systems, with an emphasis on the energy management system, which leads to the improvement of energy performance: energy efficiency, energy use and *** the example of the heating and cooling system for a one shopping center, through the phases of the PDCA cycle, it will be shown how much savings i energy sources consumption and CO2 emission reduction can be achieved by using a heat pump water to water.

The increase in life expectancy and aging of the population have highlighted the need for innovative solutions to support and protect older people, who become more vulnerable to household accidents, particularly falls. This scientific work focuses on the development of an intelligent monitoring and alert system using Arduino Nano 33 IoT and TinyML technology to differentiate between falls and ordinary bending among the elderly. The system aims to promptly intervene in case of an unexpected event, ensuring access to medical assistance. The study explores the implementation of the system, including the use of advanced sensors and TinyML technology for accurate fall detection. Specialized literature on falls in the elderly and the potential of force platform measurements to predict falls is also reviewed. Ethical considerations and data privacy are emphasized throughout the research. The results show that the implemented system can accurately differentiate between sitting and falling movements, enabling rapid responses in emergency situations, thus contributing to improved elderly care and reducing the risk of complications associated with accidental falls.

Blockchain technology has the potential for a huge impact in international trade and supply chain management by improving trust, fostering increased collaboration, efficiency, and transparency. Yet, blockchain technology has not been widely adopted because of numerous implementation difficulties. In this this paperwe have conducted a systematic literature review between 2013 and September 2023, retrieved 2300 results. These were screened based on inclusion/exclusion criteria relating to publication type, language, and relevance to identify 180 studies for in-depth thematic analysis. The thematic analysis identified four key areas: The first, Regulation and Governance, calls for empirical data to be gathered on the effectiveness and impact of blockchain in supply chains. The second, Smoothness and Transparency, examines the multifaceted opportunities for blockchain in supply chains, such as its combination with artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) devices and its potential to open up global markets. The third theme, Traceability and Authentication, examines how the blockchain can be applied in such industries as pharmaceuticals, agriculture and logistics wherein security, traces and transparency are key. The fourth, Trust and collaboration examines blockchain in supply chain management and fintech, highlighting its role in decentralized system adoption and acceptance of supply chain incentives. This study's findings illustrate the most prominent feature of each key area, enhancing the understanding of the impacts of blockchain technology on international trade and supply chain management.

This study presents a data-driven approach for detecting failures and anomalies in electrical pumps as well as identifying pumps' health state, particularly in industrial paint shops. By analysing pump pressure, electrical current, and operational frequency, we employed algorithms to detect failures and anomalies on pumps and to monitor the health status of pumps. This approach surpassed traditional diagnostic methods by enabling proactive maintenance, thus enhancing operational efficiency, and reducing down-times. Results indicate that the algorithm to monitor pumps' health successfully identified potential issues before they developed into critical failures, and model to detect sudden failures on pumps successfully identified failure in its early stages. The precision and reliability of algorithms was further validated through comparison with historical maintenance data, demonstrating a significant improvement in the early detection of pump malfunctions and overall state of electrical pumps systems. This research showcases the potential of data-driven strategies in revolutionizing industrial maintenance, underscoring the benefits of predictive analytics in achieving more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operational practices.

Integrating emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence, is driving a significant transformation in civil engineering. This research aims to determine the impact and potential applications of ChatGPT, a large-scale generative artificial intelligence model in civil engineering, as well as the advances and challenges for its implementation. To do this, a narrative review methodology was used, focused on understanding the obstacles, discovering its applications and demonstrating the potential of ChatGPT in civil engineering. From this, it was found that this tool, with its great capacity to process and generate natural language, positively influences integration with civil engineering. In particular, advances were identified in automated technical documentation generation and policy development. Additionally, applications, such as education and training, real-time data interpretation, project planning and scheduling, adherence to regulations, consultation tools and personalized learning were proposed. At the same time, technical challenges were identified and addressed, proposing security measures to ensure data confidentiality and integrity. Finally, it is concluded that ChatGPT not only presents itself as a revolutionary tool in civil engineering but also offers a wide range of applications within the discipline, establishing itself as a technology with the potential to redefine contemporary practices and methodologies in the sector.

The science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially computer programs and cognitive software algorithms, is called artificial intelligence. Kurzweil stated that "strong AI is capable of most cognitive functions that human possess and applied intelligence on existing problems." It is a rapidly advancing technological field waiting to be keenly exploited for effectiveness and efficiency gains by cost reductions. Particularly in the field of education and higher learning with the help of conversational AI that is subset of the larger framework. Conversational AI refers to the technology that enables machines, such as chatbots or virtual assistants, to engage in natural and human-like conversations with users. It combines various fields, including natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI), to simulate human conversation patterns and provide meaningful interactions. Conversational AI systems are designed to understand and generate human language, allowing users to communicate with machines in a way that resembles a conversation between two people. These systems can interpret user input, generate relevant responses, and perform tasks based on the context of the conversation. At macrolevel, it appears to be equipped with potential to replace traditional forms of education as well as the conventional educator. This paper analyzes this aspect of the AI and seeks ground to support its integration into the educational institutions.

The rise in popularity and success of services based on cloud technology is evident. However, this growth has not been without its security challenges, which Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) must urgently address to earn the trust of their users. A critical area of focus is the management of user identities, ensuring that access to services is restricted to authorized individuals. This paper provides an accessible discussion on the strengths, weaknesses, and security concerns associated with prevalent identity management strategies employed by CSPs. We examine various approaches, including password-based systems, biometric verification (like fingerprint scanning), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML. Our aim is to demystify these technologies and highlight their role in securing cloud services while maintaining user convenience.

Incorporating simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) techniques empowers robots to construct environmental maps while concurrently pinpointing their own locations within these maps. SLAM, utilized across robotics, virtual reality, and geographic information systems, is an evolving field, aimed at refining robustness, real-time performance, and scalability. Ongoing research addresses challenges encompassing sensor expenses, algorithm intricacies, and the absence of standardized datasets. This study explores the scalability of integrating diverse SLAM methodologies to alleviate their specific limitations. Further, it compares efficiency among LiDAR-based SLAM techniques and evaluates LiDAR data's applicability through point cloud processing. The methodology encompasses data acquisition, preprocessing, SLAM algorithm selection and implementation, system integration and optimization, and comprehensive testing and evaluation. Additionally, this work enhances odometry algorithms loop closure detection capability. Integration of SCA-LOAM and FAST-LIO2 yields advantages surpassing their individual applications. FAST-LIO2 gives a superior APE of 0.91 m and RPE of 0.35%. SC-A-LOAM's loop detection outperforms FAST-LIO2's default algorithm, while GTSAM-based pose graph optimization offers marked improvements. This integrated system is particularly well-suited for long-term localization tasks, such as those required for autonomous vehicles.

In the field of Hydraulic Drive Technology, different types of hydraulic fluid are used for different applications. Since the operating conditions of hydraulic systems are becoming more and more demanding, hydraulic fluids must also adapt to this. The latter can be achieved through the continuous development of the fluids themselves, e.g. by using better additives, or by finding another, more suitable hydraulic fluid. In recent decades, ionic liquids, which have excellent individual physicochemical properties, have started to be used increasingly in various fields of application. Today, we treat them as high-tech liquids for specific purposes of use. Due to their excellent individual properties, in the last decade, the possibilities of use in the increasingly demanding field of Hydraulic Fluids have also begun to be tested. Thus, after more than a decade of development and the search for a suitable ionic fluid, ionic hydraulic fluids were developed for use in hydraulic systems. Due to their excellent properties, the first examples of successful practical use were experienced in the field of Hydraulic Machines and Devices in Metallurgy. As high-tech hydraulic fluids, due to their excellent properties, they are also suitable for other areas of application, e.g. potentially also in the demanding field of Aviation. The paper summarises briefly the excellent properties of ionic hydraulic fluids, which are also suitable for potential use in the field of Aviation. Based on a comparison of the properties of the hydraulic fluids currently used in aviation and the current state of the properties of ionic hydraulic fluids, the properties are derived that may still need to be improved for this purpose of use.
