The way hypotheses testing is performed, is analogue to proving guilt of an accused one in the court by prosecutor. The goal of prosecutor is to prove by gathered evidences that, beyond reasonable doubt, the accused one is "guilty". If we don't do that, the jury will decide there are not enough evidences to sentence the accused one. Lean Six Sigma project has the same task, to prove that if we change some input "x", the process will change and deliver different outputs "y", and in order to do that we need to generate data before and after change of input "x" and to prove beyond any doubt (alpha risk) that change of input "x" brought to change of output "y". All steps in hypotheses testing for Lean Six Sigma project of industrial purpose in this article are presented. During this experiment, we use Minitab as best known statistical software package for Lean Six Sigma projects through a set of programs that have been developed to carry out statistical analysis of a high degree of numerical accuracy. In this article, example of Minitab application on example of theory of experiment modelling on the influence of the impact of operating temperatures and three types of glass plates in the manufacture of the oscilloscope tube for industrial purpose is presented.

An Energy-Efficient Reconfigurable Autoencoder Implementation on FPGA 1

Autoencoders are unsupervised neural networks that are used to process and compress input data and then reconstruct the data back to the original data size. This allows autoencoders to be used for different processing applications such as data compression, image classification, image noise reduction, and image coloring. Hardware-wise, re-configurable architectures like Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) have been used for accelerating computations from several domains because of their unique combination of flexibility, performance, and power efficiency. In this paper, we look at the different autoencoders available and use the convolutional autoencoder in both FPGA and GPU-based implementations to process noisy static MNIST images. We compare the different results achieved with the FPGA and GPU-based implementations and then discuss the pros and cons of each implementation. The evaluation of the proposed design achieved 80% accuracy and our experimental results show that the proposed accelerator achieves a throughput of 21.12 Giga-Operations Per Second (GOP/s) with a 5.93 W on-chip power consumption at 100 MHz. The comparison results with off-the-shelf devices and recent state-of-the-art implementations illustrate that the proposed accelerator has obvious advantages in terms of energy efficiency and design flexibility. We also discuss future work that can be done with the use of our proposed accelerator.

Detection of violence and weaponized violence in closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage requires a comprehensive approach. In this work, we introduce the Smart-City CCTV Violence Detection (SCVD) dataset, specifically designed to facilitate the learning of weapon distribution in surveillance videos. To tackle the complexities of analyzing 3D surveillance video for violence recognition tasks, we propose a novel technique called SSIVD-Net (Salient-Super-Image for Violence Detection). Our method reduces 3D video data complexity, dimensionality, and information loss while improving inference, performance, and explainability through salient-super-Image representations. Considering the scalability and sustainability requirements of futuristic smart cities, the authors introduce the Salient-Classifier, a novel architecture combining a kernelized approach with a residual learning strategy. We evaluate variations of SSIVD-Net and Salient Classifier on our SCVD dataset and benchmark against state-of-the-art (SOTA) models commonly employed in violence detection. Our approach exhibits significant improvements in detecting both weaponized and non-weaponized violence instances. By advancing the SOTA in violence detection, our work offers a practical and scalable solution suitable for real-world applications. The proposed methodology not only addresses the challenges of violence detection in CCTV footage but also contributes to the understanding of weapon distribution in smart surveillance. Ultimately, our research findings should enable smarter and more secure cities, as well as enhance public safety measures.

The use of data warehousing and data processing technology accelerated the generation of reports by 50%. The adoption of a specific value creation model for business intelligence increased operational efficiency in decision making by 25%. A total of 39 articles, found in various academic repositories, were included in the research study. These 39 articles went through a rigorous final selection process using the PRISMA methodology. As a result, a final set of 17 research articles that were considered relevant and pertinent to the study were selected. PRISMA was the most representative methodology used in the research work, which allowed for greater analysis and detail of the specific articles related to the topic. The importance of coordinating IT applications to improve organizational performance was highlighted, with an emphasis on agility as a key mechanism for strategic decision making. Lack of access to relevant data is equivalent to 10% of employees' daily work time. Operational and quality errors generate customer complaints, which account for 2% of annual revenue. Non-compliance with quality standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, can amount to up to 5% of SUNARP's annual operating costs. The staff in charge of quality management is in a sub optimal position, as they cannot directly access the data and analysis needed to evaluate quality indicators so they have to resort to the Technology area in order to access this information through reports. The motivation of the SLR is a fundamental step to identify best practices and strategies used by other organizations to overcome similar challenges presented in the problem.

In the domain of Mobility Data Science, the intricate task of interpreting models trained on trajectory data, and elucidating the spatio-temporal movement of entities, has persistently posed significant challenges. Conventional XAI techniques, although brimming with potential, frequently overlook the distinct structure and nuances inherent within trajectory data. Observing this deficiency, we introduced a comprehensive framework that harmonizes pivotal XAI techniques: LIME (Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations), SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations), Saliency maps, attention mechanisms, direct trajectory visualization, and Permutation Feature Importance (PFI). Unlike conventional strategies that deploy these methods singularly, our unified approach capitalizes on the collective efficacy of these techniques, yielding deeper and more granular insights for models reliant on trajectory data. In crafting this synthesis, we effectively address the multifaceted essence of trajectories, achieving not only amplified interpretability but also a nuanced, contextually rich comprehension of model decisions. To validate and enhance our framework, we undertook a survey to gauge preferences and reception among various user demographics. Our findings underscored a dichotomy: professionals with academic orientations, particularly those in roles like Data Scientist, IT Expert, and ML Engineer, showcased a profound, technical understanding and often exhibited a predilection for amalgamated methods for interpretability. Conversely, end-users or individuals less acquainted with AI and Data Science showcased simpler inclinations, such as bar plots indicating timestep significance or visual depictions pinpointing pivotal segments of a vessel's trajectory. Notably, the survey highlighted a unanimous appreciation for juxtaposing predicted versus actual trajectories as a direct benchmark of model performance. With an increasing and ageing population and potential challenges in providing conventional, manual physiotherapy, this research paper proposes the use of exoskeleton robots for remote motor telerehabilitation. This approach, particularly task-oriented rehabilitation, is considered to be efficient and cost-effective. In order to create a reliable and safe rehabilitative exoskeleton system, precise data measurement during movements needs to be conducted. This study introduces a novel concept of an upper extremity trajectory recording system integrated with the construction of the passive exoskeleton with 5 degrees of freedom manufactured by the 3D-printing technology, granting both durability and light-weightness.

Positive emotional games can have a significant impact on gamers because they not only provide entertainment but also have the potential to promote learning and evoke positive emotions. This article explores the effects of positive emotional games compared to harmful emotional games on gamers. The research method involved analyzing current issues with game design and proposing new perspectives to improve learning opportunities and encourage positive learning experiences. The paper cites real-life examples of positive emotional games and their impact. The analysis of positive emotional games led to the suggestion of a Positive Game Scoring Model for future educational emotional games that have value. The framework proposes a weighted approach with criteria for both negative and positive scoring. It recommends lower scores for violent or negative emotional games and higher scores for emotionally positive games. Game designers are encouraged to consider the positive factors that inspire happiness and joy, which can bring about positive change among gamers.

The dowry payment system is used in the cultural context and tradition of certain financial transactions related to marriages and engagement. However, disputes, fraud, and financial gaps in exploitation occur in these systems, which affect user confidence. This study uses an exploratory approach to identify the main weaknesses of current traditional dowry payment systems and analyses the benefits that blockchain technology and smart contracts can provide. The proposed data security framework combines blockchain security features such as decentralisation, cryptography, and automatic verification through smart contracts to ensure the integrity and reliability of dowry payment transactions. In this study, we adopt the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology to propose producing and developing artefacts that support solving problems in the existing dowry payment system more efficiently. We will disseminate new ideas or concepts developed to indigenous communities in Timor-Leste using the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) frameworks to ensure that the technological framework developed can be used safely and efficiently.

In this paper, we explore the usability of a custom eXtensible Robotic Language (XRL) we proposed. To evaluate the user experience and the interaction with the potential XRL-based software robot, we conducted an exploratory study comparing the notation of three business processes using our XRL language and two languages used by the leading RPA solutions. The results of our study show that the currently used XML-based formats perform worse in terms of conciseness and readability. Our new XRL language is promising in terms of increasing the readability of the language, thus reducing the time needed to automate business processes.

The goal of this research is to uncover the struggles that students face when working on Calculus tasks. This study uses a qualitative analysis method, with the help of an eye-tracking tool, to examine the variations and similarities in cognitive processes between experts and novices. Using an eye-tracking tool, we can observe an individual's ability to move between different forms of representation. The Calculus tasks focus on the concepts of derivatives, specifically, students were asked to identify the graph of a derivative function.
