This study focuses on enhancing the performance of Universidad Internacional SEK's (UISEK) Data Lake by addressing challenges in computing resource consumption from a prior data lake implementation. Notably, data has been sourced from the Canvas Learning Management System based on the university's usage since 2019 for both implementations. The restructuring, carried out through three layers, successfully mitigated previous computing resource challenges. Following the CRISP-DM framework, the new approach exhibited substantial improvements over the previous version. Results include a 73.1% reduction in the estimated size of the last dump, 51.7% more efficient storage utilization in the user behavior table, and a 4.3% improvement in CPU consumption. Additionally, showcased a 50% reduction in ingestion time. The study emphasizes the significance of a well-organized Data Lake governance structure for streamlined data management. The presented improvements lay a solid foundation for future analyses and machine learning models. Moreover, the study underscores the role of automated processes in maintaining an updated Data Lake, ensuring its relevance for decision-making at UISEK. Overall, this work contributes to advancing the efficiency and performance of educational-Data Lakes, providing valuable insights for decision-making and continuous enhancement of the educational experience.

The design of preschool education facilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina until 1990 aimed not only to ensure the quality of education but also to fulfill parameters analyzed within urban settlement plans. These plans precisely determined the locations of preschool buildings, with a particular focus on the capacities of future structures and their architectural features. This research examines two preschool education buildings constructed in Sarajevo between 1980 and 1990, thoroughly investigating their urban layout and architectural configuration. Additionally, the study evaluates the current capacities of these facilities in accordance with contemporary pedagogical guidelines, utilizing qualitative comparative analysis based on these evaluation factors. The findings of this research provide insights into the architectural characteristics of buildings constructed over 35 years ago and analyze their contemporary utilization. In conclusion, this study significantly contributes to understanding the evolution of preschool architecture in the specified historical context, offering valuable guidance for the planning of present and future educational facilities.

The Internet of Flying Things (IoFT), popularly known as drones, has recently been adopted to perform essential tasks in several mission-critical systems, such as military, medical, ambulance, firefighting, and transportation systems. However, the traffic communication of IoFT has been vulnerable to a wide range of cyberattack vectors that threaten the privacy and authentication of IoFT devices and data. This paper presents a proficient defense approach to capturing cyberattacks deliberated against the LoFT. Particularly, we characterize the performance of three supervised machine learning schemes, including the random forest classifier (RFC), the multi-layer perceptron (MLP), and the support vector machines (SVM). The models were trained and evaluated on a recent dataset for cyberattacks over IoFT, ECU-IoFT-2022, using two balanced classes (normal vs. attack). The models' assessment showed that the based scheme for IoFT cyberattack categorization provides the best performance indicators, achieving a 99.5% classification accuracy. Besides, its performance is improved over the existing state-of-the-art models for IoFT.

This study compares the effectiveness of Team Formation Problem (TFP) implementation in welfare activities using four metaheuristic optimization algorithms: Jaya (JA), Sine-Cosine (SCA), Firefly (FFA), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). TFP often involves a large search space with numerous variables and constraints. These metaheuristic algorithms are efficiently exploring the search space and converge to promising solutions quickly. The purpose of this paper is to determine which algorithm performs best in assembling effective volunteer teams, taking into account factors such as skills, availability, and preferences. The study uses simulations to evaluate the algorithms' convergence speed, solution quality, and robustness. The experimental results showthat SCA and PSO perform well in team formation, with SCA outperforming PSO and completing tasks faster. However, algorithm effectiveness may vary depending to the number of volunteer skills required.

Blockchain technology has the potential to ameliorate security and trust in Arab cyberspace by preventing cyber-attacks, fraud, and data manipulation. Its decentralized and immutable ledger ensures data integrity and transparency while reducing the risks of identity theft and unauthorized access. By securely exchanging cyber-threat information through smart contracts, blockchain enables early detection and prevention of attacks while maintaining privacy. However, the use of blockchain for the exchange of cyber-threat information in Arab cyberspace faces challenges related to linguistic and cultural nuances. Specialized language processing techniques are required to accurately interpret smart contracts in Arabic, given its unique scripts, grammar, and vocabulary. It is crucial to adapt the platform to comply with local regulations and practices, which requires collaboration between language experts, blockchain developers, and legal professionals. Our proposed contribution focuses only on developing a secure framework for sharing cyber-threat information using blockchain. This framework enables secure and anonymous information exchange, establishes data sharing standards, designs suitable blockchain networks, enforces privacy through smart contracts, and implements data encryption. By facilitating the secure exchange of information between organizations and government agencies, our framework aims to strengthen cybersecurity in Arab cyberspace.

Physarum can form a robust network while foraging, which is viewed as a result of microscopic response diffusion followed by a macroscopic spontaneous boundary modification. The vacant-particle transport model apprehends the microscopic-macroscopic responding skills of Physarum to develop a transport mechanism with balanced exploration and exploitation. An existing enterprise network (EN) can be viewed as a set of clusters linking various users, which is analogous to Physarum's nutrition-network that connects a variety of food sources. We propose a redesign process, which explores EN clusters and decides how to exploit them to manage dynamic workloads, as Physarum reforms its network through explore-exploit skills to manage energy for its survival. In this paper, we formulate the redesign process as a two-step optimization problem with an objective function to maximize the managing of workloads at the backbone;here, the 'move user' operation derived from the basic vacant particle model forms the microscopic optimization and the restructuring of EN clusters through evolution forms the macroscopic optimization. A mathematical model with added constraints is developed to expedite the optimization process. The experimental findings demonstrated that the proposed approach reduces the backbone workloads by 39% compared to the initial.

Digitalization and innovation are critical to increasing agricultural sustainability, productivity, and efficiency. However, several barriers prevent its implementation, particularly in rising countries such as Vietnam. To solve these challenges in the process of digitization and innovation of agricultural supply chain (DIASC) in Vietnam, this paper provides a model that combines MCDM approaches (DEMATEL and DANP) with Spherical Fuzzy Sets (SFSs) to identify and quantify these barriers. The SF-TOPSIS approach is then applied to rank alternative solutions to create a smoother DIASC transformation. The results highlight technology barriers (D1) and institutional barriers (D4) as the most significant barriers to DIASC in Vietnam. In addition, this study also proposes S1 - Capacity building and cooperation, S2 - Technology solutions, and S5 - Legal framework as urgent solutions to overcome these barriers. The study proposes in-depth knowledge of the barriers to DIASC, providing the foundation for companies and policy makers to develop successful deployment strategies and support DIASC projects.

This paper presents an exploratory study which outlines a theoretical framework for prospective entrepreneurs to better understand the challenges of blockchain technology applied to healthcare. The primary aim is to provide structured analysis of theories and concepts. The methodology involves an initial deep analysis in the literature to understand the complexities of healthcare systems and foundational knowledge of blockchain technology. Subsequently, identifying specific healthcare challenges suitable for integration with blockchain was a main goal. Findings draw some challenges, as blockchain applied to healthcare bring serious questions of regulations and ethics. Emerging theories highlight blockchain's role in data security, interoperability, and transparency, with applications spanning data privacy enhancement, system interoperability, patient-controlled health data, and supply chain processes, payment systems, and compliance in healthcare.

Devices used in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology vary in size depending on the purpose of the measurement to be carried out. The variety of devices, especially measurement antennas, poses a design challenge for the hardware and software side of a robotic mobile platform. This article presents the design of the robotic mobile platform tailored for GPR surveys. The robot's construction, featuring a variable-geometry frame, is detailed to accommodate different antenna sizes. Key components, including the drivetrain and signal processing system, are discussed, highlighting the use of differential drive and multilayered control architecture for autonomy and reliability. The software architecture encompasses data analysis and motion control, implemented through concurrent threads for modularity and fault tolerance. Additionally, a database-based approach is adopted for data storage and exchange, improving reliability and processing efficiency. Field tests validate the system's performance, demonstrating accurate positioning and highlighting the need for sensor fusion in indoor environments. The article concludes with insights for future improvements, emphasizing enhanced maneuverability and fault tolerance in the robot's design.

Managing the postgraduate supervision relationship and measuring the cumulative impact of a supervisor's postgraduate outputs and performance are major challenges for many universities. There is a desire to use technology to enhance the quality of academic services, but current efforts are narrowly focused on enhancing journal quality through metrics like the h-index, SciVal, and the i10-index. There are few technological tools available to gauge the quality of supervision services. However, an analysis of the literature to date raises questions regarding the caliber of academic supervision in various settings and across a range of learning environments. This research presents the academic rating index (ARI), a critical digital supervision model that combines Fourth IndustrialRevolution (4IR) techniques with an academic supervision theoretical framework. The chapter highlights the ARI's capabilities to manage supervision relationships and measure the cumulative impact of supervisors' postgraduate outputs and performance, while contributing to the UN's sustainable development goal four (4) of quality education. The ARI is rooted in quantitative algorithms, coding, and programming methodology. Theoretically, the ARI advances service quality and performance measurement models, which transforms manual modeling to 4IR-inspired modeling. In practice, the ARI serves as a data warehouse and data mining innovation that helps universities to achieve the optimum academic service relative to excellence quality standards or constraints. The ARI serves as a supervision quality benchmarking tool for universities, a reflexive tool for supervisors, and a voice and microscope for postgraduate students. As this paper indicates, the use of 4IR techniques elevates the ARI beyond the existing library of supervision models.
